The synthesized specimens had two structural phases; one is crystalline TiO2 in anatase form and the other is glass phase SiO2. The sizes of the nanocomposites ranged from 10 to 11 nm. All the resulting nanocomposites were found to be excellent as photocatalytic materials.","PeriodicalId":18940,"journal":{"name":"Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. The interface between the organic layer and metallic anode of an OLED is crucial to the stability and performance of the device. A uniform and thin film of the α-septithiophene(α-7T) has been used as a buffer layer at the interface between the ITO electrode and hole transport layer(HTL). The insertion of α-7T layer has decreased the operating voltage and improved the external power efficiency. The Maximum EL intensity was over 17000cd/m2 and the maximum external power efficiency at 2000cd/m2 is 6.41m/W and that at 100cd/m2 is 9.341m/W. Using the SiO layered in front of HTL as a hole-blocking layer, the sensitivity of the device efficiency on current density is investigated.","PeriodicalId":18940,"journal":{"name":"Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. From the wavelength dependence of UV-photodecomposition in the poly[methyl(phenyl) silane] (PMPS) film, the refractive index was found to be effectively lowered by eliminating phenyl side-group with shorter wavelength UV light. It was also confirmed that the phase difference information could be recordable by utilizing such refractive index changes in PMPS films. Utilizing the 4-f matched-filter architecture based on the four-wave mixing with photorefractive polymers as the optical correlator, the occurrence of large correlation signal was successfully observed only when the image written in the PMPS phase mask was coincident with the phase difference pattern on the PMPS film as a reference. This result indicates that the polysilane films with UV-photodecomposition pattern can be useful for the phase difference mask in the optical correlation system.","PeriodicalId":18940,"journal":{"name":"Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. The structures of the products were characterized by 1H-NMR and FT-IR. The properties of the compounds required for DVD-R fabrication were elucidated by UV-VIS and TGA. From the UV-VIS data, Zn-DMBTA exhibited the best response with 635 nm generally used in a DVD player. Based on the analysis of TGA data, it showed high thermal stability. Accordingly, Zn-DMBTA is the best compound as a recording material for DVD-R fabrication.","PeriodicalId":18940,"journal":{"name":"Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology.
