For the past 25 years, many rainfall-induced landslides have occurred throughout our country that strikes the citizens, especially near the hillside areas. Due to complicated regional geological structures and high rainfall intensities, landslide disasters happen frequently in Malaysia. The study of a landside site involves many aspects of data collection and data analysis activities. Typically, a variety of conventional and modern methods had been used to assess the displacement of landslide such as precise levelling, total station and Close Range Photogrammetry (CRP), Real Time Kinematic Global Positioning System (RTK-GPS), Reflectorless Total Station, Satellite Remote Sensing Imagery, and Airborne Laser Scanning (eg. Lidar. Each of these methods posed their own advantages and limitations. Since slopes evolve continuously as a result of natural processes, better and faster tools related to generating more realistic 3-D Digital Terrain Model (DTM) representation of the landslide sites are desired. Therefore, Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) has become as an ideal tool to serve such a purpose since it offers very high resolution of spatial sampling in 3D measurement and also without contact with the hazardous area make it as a helpful observation in landslide assessment. This study therefore is being conducted to assess the potential of terrestrial laser scanner to monitor the change of the landslide surface Ulu Behrang, Perak, Malaysia. High-density point cloud measurement, laser-scanner Leica ScanStation2 has been used to produce an accurate representation of these complex surfaces. The study was performed by applying system identification and it was carried out by using four general stages; experimental work to collect input-output data, model structure selection where ARX model is chosen, estimation to obtain the ARX model, and validation. It makes use of the SURF algorithm to detect the ‘asana’ that the user/practitioner is performing and compares it with a video of the same ‘asana’ performed by an expert. In order to provide better services and choices for high-speed internet access and multimedia service for business and residential customer, IEEE has come out with new solution. Started on 2001, IEEE 802.16 working group was developing the IEEE 802.16 standards for wireless Metropolitan Area Networks. Their objective and forecast are to provide broadband wireless last-miles access in a Metropolitan Area Network, easy to deploy and giving high speed data rate and large covering area. To fulfil this objective, a good scheduling system can boost the performance of Wireless network. In this work, a detailed simulation study from the Base Station to Subscriber station (downlink) is carried out for comparing 2 different schedulers in terms of their performance. Because of its intimate relationship with computers and computer architecture, a numerical method is proposed as a possible solution. The iteration direction, incremental or decremental, of the proposed technique is determined by the gradient between the first and the last element of the model's input vector. In order to impose a fast rate of convergence to a solution, the iteration step size is biased by means of an offset. The results obtained demonstrate consistency on two different data sets, each containing a sum of 200 instances of data. They use a ballast system and moving mass to glide in the saw-tooth path pattern through the ocean water column. This paper presents the dynamic model of USM underwater glider based on slender-body theory. In this work, a moving mass implementation and hydrodynamic interaction among hull, wings, and tail are included. The simulation results illustrate the dynamic characteristics and its response over velocity and angle of attack. In the results, the equilibrium angle of attack and velocity of underwater glider at minimum drag force can be obtained based on specific dimension. In this work, USM underwater glider produced minimum drag force at 1.7° angle of attack with velocity of 2.7 m/s. In addition, the effectiveness of a moving mass actuator also presented in the simulation results. HVAC system of Engineering Complex consists of chillers, compressors, motors, pumps, cooling tower, ice cell, air handling unit (AHU) and also fan coil unit (FCU). This study focus on AHU system and describes the result of the operation of the AHU system. The data obtained were observed and analyzed to measure the performance by comparing the quality of the supply air, the return air of the AHU and room temperature in certain duration. A good operation and maintenance plan of AHU is the main success to minimize energy consumption. The torque to inertia ratio is also large which resulting high acceleration capability. Reducing the position tracking error of the hydraulic system is a very challenging task. This paper presents the development and implementation of Zero Phase Error Tracking Control (ZPETC) in controlling the position variation of electro-hydraulic actuator. The electro-hydraulic system mathematical model was approximated using system identification technique with non-minimum phase system being considered. The studies were done using Matlab Simulink environment. The simulated tracking performance was validated with the real-time system. The tracking root mean squared error for real-time system was slightly higher than the simulation due to plant-model mismatch.
