In Indonesia itself, adventure tourism has become a prima donna since 2018 because it has brought 100,000 tourists from all over the world. This provides great economic value for the destination visited up to 67%. Via ferrata is one of the growing adventure tourism activities in Indonesia. Despite the high risk, this activity has a main market, which is the general public who want to experience rock climbing without having to have special abilities. In order to minimize these risks, it is necessary to have risk management so that the via ferrata can be made into extreme tourism but still safe for public tourists. The purpose of this research is to identify and find out the theoretical implications of risk management carried out via ferrata managers. Good risk management is applying industry management based on existing policies, standards, and procedures. The method used is qualitative descriptive with analysis using coding tools. Via ferrata does not yet have standard rules and SOPs. The new risk management is assessed based on the safety aspects of the safety equipment referring to the UIAA. All Mount Mendelem via ferrata operators do not have rock climbing certification and the existing SOP has not been written and the implementation is not suitable. Even so, in terms of security, the manager takes great care to create a tracking lane as an alternative to the down lane. So in this case the manager has applied the standards well but not yet for the policies and procedures used.","PeriodicalId":188894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Competitiveness on Tourism","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129178440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results of this study show that the Government of Indonesia has called for four strategic steps in dealing with climate change. Ensuring that all countries contribute to tackling climate change; mobilizing the potential of the community to raise awareness in dealing with and implementing actions related to climate change; Strengthening global partnerships by prioritizing capacity building cooperation in dealing with climate change for countries in the Pacific region; besides that, there are also four other efforts that have been carried out, namely the government targeting greenhouse gas reduction, the law on environmental protection and management, and the development plan national medium term, or RPJMN; establishing the management agency for environmental funds; national economic recovery; and food estate. The Jeron Beteng neighborhood, which is inside the palace fortress, is currently dealing with global phenomena like population growth, declining public service quality, decreasing availability of residential areas, traffic congestion, a lack of parking, rising levels of energy consumption, garbage buildup, and rising crime rates. As a result, the Jeron Beteng region can continue to be sustainable thanks to palace culture, which has been described by the sultan's knowledge in formulating policies, along with standards and principles for managing the quality of life.The Yogyakarta Palace, which is the de facto owner and authority of the land and the culture inside it, as well as other supporting papers are used in the research's descriptive qualitative methodologies to gather both primary and secondary data from government officials, community members, and other sources. The methods of gathering data include interviews, observation, and documentation. The study's findings demonstrate the sultan's wisdom toward environmentally friendly tourist attractions in Yogyakarta's Jeron Beteng district, which is deeply concerned with cultural preservation. However, the sultan's position is still crucial in encouraging people to adhere to legal requirements.","PeriodicalId":188894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Competitiveness on Tourism","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130266089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the influence of ecotourism activities within the scope of the 3A-based tourism concept and the spatial aspects of Google Earth imagery using time series techniques from 2012-2022. It is evident that from the 3A perspective, there has been a change in the needs of tourists for new tour packages that still prioritize nature tourism, the addition of alternative road sections as a form of accessibility development to Bukit Lawang, and the addition of accommodations to meet tourists' needs. There are limited studies on the opportunities and challenges of tourism micro-business, especially those related to managing dried or salted fish. This study aims to 1) identify opportunities and challenges in managing the micro-business of dried fish; 2) analyse the sustainability factors of the micro-business of dried fish in the context of tourism; 3) propose a tourism micro-business management strategy. This study employs a qualitative approach by conducting field visits at dried fish sales locations in Barru regency in August and September 2022. The study reveals that the micro-business opportunity of dried fish could be an education-based tourism product. Educational tourism provides opportunities for tourists to learn about fishery products, the management of dried fish products, and sales to consumption by tourists. The challenges of micro-business are; managing and selling dried fish with the principles of hygiene and sanitation, decreasing sales, fish product packaging, understanding customer service; providing information on dried fish products; and product innovation. The decreasing number of dried fish sales can affect the sustainability of the dried fish micro business. Therefore, the stakeholders' role can help sustain the dried fish micro-business. This study proposes approaches for tourism micro-business management on the perspective of push and pull factors. Academics use the concept of push and pull factors in assessing tourist motivation. However, push and pull factors are also helpful in analysing micro-business management in the tourism sector.","PeriodicalId":188894,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Sustainable Competitiveness on Tourism","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127887996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
