Considering the strict service requirements and the large subscriber base of telecom environments, the performance and scalability of IMS would be of critical importance. In this study, with the aim of evaluating the operation of IMS during high workloads, we deployed an IMS test-bed based on the open-source software solutions, and applied extensive performance configurations to the involved subsystems. Then, we conducted benchmark experiments targeting both the IMS control and service layers. The results demonstrate that Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and Serving-Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) could be potential bottlenecks for performance and scalability of IMS.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129773297","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present a systematic method to design and optimize the high order and multibit ΔΣ modulators based on their stability analysis. Also, the sensitivity of modulator performance to variation of different realization coefficients is analyzed and different case studies are presented. The main advancement of the presented design process lied on maximizing modulator dynamic range considering practically stability and sensitivity margins which were not clearly analyzed in previously reported similar works. By this mean, modulator peak SNR can gain some further improvement in the order of 10dB in certain multibit applications. The results of this paper would enable the optimization and design of high order multibit ΔΣ modulators based on the stability region of ΔΣ modulator.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128512092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An accurate homography is one of the most important information that is used to map the frame coordinate to the world coordinate, and vice versa. In this paper, a novel approach is presented to extract the frame line mask and tune the initial homography. The proposed method utilizes lines and arcs in the frame to find the best solution. The proposed method can also detect the invalid solutions. The obtained results are compared to the state-of-the-art method that uses the Levenberg-Marquardt technique in its optimization stage. The experimental results show that the proposed method is robust enough against strong shadows, lighting conditions, noise, and motion blurring.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129439582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A reliable predictor of an imminent episode of ventricular tachycardia that could be incorporated in an implantable defibrillator capable of preventive therapy would have important clinical utilities. However, there are several methods which have separated pre arrhythmia and control subjects, but there are only a few methods to predict VF/VT by tracing whole the signal from beginning to end and providing us a quantitative predictor by the time. In this paper we tried to present an quantitative predictor by finding an entropy-based pattern in T-wave of ECG signals which has the most important role in ventricular activity of heart using Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD). As this pattern rarely occurs in control records it can be considered as a useful index for probability occurrence of VF/VT. so physicians can apply an aptly timed electrical shock or it can be used to improve Implantable cardiac defibrillators and thus it yields to increase the probability of saving many cardiac patients. The developed algorithm can reach sensitivity of 84% and specificity of 93% in online/VT prediction.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126680458","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The input nonlinearities are assumed to be sector nonlinearity or dead-zone nonlinearity. A sliding mode controller is proposed to achieve the tracking for the mentioned differential inclusion systems in finite time. The suggested control approach is composed of sliding surfaces and control inputs. Based on Lyapunov stability theorem it is proved that the considered inclusion systems with the designed control inputs can track desired trajectories in finite time. To achieve this goal, a nonlinear disturbance observer is proposed. Moreover, in order to estimate the robot flexural rates, another observer is integrated with this nonlinear disturbance observer. However, the obtained integrated observer can estimate the total disturbance torques which is the combination of the environmental torques and internal disturbance torques. To cope with this problem, a robust control law is employed such that it attenuates the effects of uncertainties on the performance of the observer. The accuracy of the proposed approach is investigated via numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"267 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114204607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the leakage inductance of the transformer, conventional forward-flyback converter suffers from low efficiency and high switch stress. For practical implementation of this converter, snubber and clamp circuits are necessary. RCD snubber can limit the voltage spike across the primary switch however the energy of the leakage inductance is dissipated in a resistor. In this study a forward-flyback DC-DC converter is introduced. The auxiliary circuit has only passive elements and thus, the control circuit is simple and is like a regular PWM DC-DC converter. The auxiliary circuit provides ZVS condition for primary switch at turn-off instances. In this paper, operating principles and theoretical analysis are given. Also, simulation results are presented to verify the validity of theoretical analysis.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114639723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The PSS parameters are established for four PSSs which are linked to four synchronous generators. There is an increased demand for development of such algorithm, so that made researchers look for algorithms not only being metaheuristic, but also inherit desired properties of so-called deterministic approaches. To accomplish this objective, a novel method called smart line search (SLS) has been proposed in this paper and has been combined with Teaching Learning based optimization (TLBO). Being so new-found, SLS tries to take benefits of gradient methods using weighted stochastic selection approach which not only leads to unraveling of new local optimums, but also with a performance rather more speedy than conventional algorithms so far used. The performance of the proposed approach is also compared with other method. By observing the simulation results in two-area four-machine power system and compare with each of old algorithm, have been seen that new method is positively effective on damping time and also power frequency and oscillation when the fault occurs.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"101 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116361646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To study human mastication comprehensively, it is better to consider the electromyography (EMG) activity of the masticatory muscles and bite force. The aim of this study is to evaluate SEMG-force relationship by utilizing Laguerre expansion technique (LET). In this work, the electrical activity of only two masticatory muscles, namely masseter and temporalis are measured. Results denote the ability of LET in predicting mastication biting force based on EMG signals. Additionally, the proposed model can be able to control masticatory robots using recorded EMG signals. In these applications, uses of non-expensive and portable of electromyography (EMG) electrodes have advantageous compared to the use of force sensors and cameras which are often very expensive and require massive structures.","PeriodicalId":187121,"journal":{"name":"2015 23rd Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126325975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
