This paper presents an approach to evaluation of software maintenance tasks based on fuzzy screening. The construction of data set for the case study is based on the real data extracted from the maintenance repository available in a local very small software company. In the construction of data set participated researchers and experienced software experts from the selected company. Results of the analysis provide evidence that fuzzy screening can be used for evaluation of maintenance tasks based on selected attributes. Further work directions are outlined in the conclusion section.","PeriodicalId":187088,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121144510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional approaches emphasize the global stability of the controlled phenomena while leaving the details of the trajectory tracking develop as a not very clear consequence of the control settings the novel design directly concentrates on the observable response of the controlled system therefore it can concentrate on the tracking details as a primary design intent. Whenever a Classical Mechanical system that normally produces 2nd order response (i.e. acceleration) is forced through an elastic component its immediate response becomes 4th order one. Practical observation of the 4th order derivatives of a variable may suffer from measurement noises. Furthermore, when in simulation studies the higher order derivatives are numerically integrated and later numerically differentiated to provide the appropriate feedback signals the non-smooth jumps in the numerical integrator can destroy the simulation results. By the use of a simple 4th order model in this paper it is shown that the chained use of the built-in differentiators of the simulation package SCILAB is inappropriate for simulation purposes. It is also shown that by the use of a simple 4th order polynomial differentiator this problem can be solved. This statement is substantiated by simulation results.","PeriodicalId":187088,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121963816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such applications are meant to provide support to persons with disabilities or to those impaired, as well as to their caretakers. Within this context, geofencing targets the safe mobility of such persons. As mobility related data can be translated into events with a temporal dimension, we have developed a geofencing service based on the Complex Event Processing paradigm. This decision was supported also by the fact that Ambient Assisted Living applications, in general, are often considered for integration into event rich environments, such as those resulting from smart cities infrastructure. The ability of Complex Event Processing to handle vast amounts of time correlated events from multiple sources meets the requirements imposed by the geofencing service. This paper presents the architecture of a Complex Event Processing based geofencing service along with the results obtained during the evaluation phase of the first prototype.","PeriodicalId":187088,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"43 29","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131501294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The algorithm is part of the software package which is used as a tool for business intelligence purposes. The tool assembles patent data from publicly available data bases, collects and analyzes patents bibliographic parameters and performs text mining. High-dimensional data contained in the patent documents are transformed into lower dimensionality space (2D or 3D), clustered and visualized. These features of the software tool enabled estimation of the effectiveness of text processing algorithm when run on different parts of the patent, such as abstract, claim, international patent code description and detailed patent description.","PeriodicalId":187088,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 11th International Symposium on Intelligent Systems and Informatics (SISY)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127097210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has been widely adopted and used thanks to the strong guarantees it provides, reliable transmission before all. Today, many applications require fast data transfer over high bandwidth, high latency links. Standard TCP has a huge problem in achieving optimal performance, it substantially underutilizes network bandwidth. Over time, many solutions have been proposed. This paper describes the main problems and circumstances where those arise, especially large Bandwidth-Delay Product links.
