This way they assist to prevention of chronic diseases, to improvement of living environment as well as to bring economic stimulation. The paper deals with various approaches to evaluation of walkability where tens of various indices are currently recognized. The case study focus on assessment walkability in Ostrava and Hradec Kralove using two mainstream indices with the aim to compare advantages and disadvantages of both approaches in practical applications.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022. At the same time, these new technologies and the demand for various data are driven by the demands of the state, public institutions and private investors. Investors see the process as benefit in facilitating processes, transparency and mainly in the use of digital building models in facility management. Of the various industries, the construction industry has the greatest potential to increase the efficiency of its work and achieve savings in construction and facility management. This greater efficiency is helped by the BIM (Building information management) method, which works with construction data throughout its life cycle. The core of this method is a system called CDE (Common data environment), which stores and distributes documents among all participants in the investment process within the entire BIM method. The article mainly deals with the use of CDE, digitization and benefits of the CDE system for all participants in the project.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022. The practical exercises use data provided by European authorities. In both courses, these are data provided by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, and data provided by the European Environment Agency under Copernicus Land Monitoring Service - Urban Atlas. The benefit of the practical exercises is not only to practise different methods of analysis but also to become familiar with the sources of European Union data. Thus, the practical examples increase the knowledge of European geographical topics and the possibilities of obtaining data from freely available sources. In the Data Mining course, the topics of correlation, principal component analysis, hierarchical and non-hierarchical clustering are practiced on employment data according to the NACE Level1 economic activity code. Time series analysis is practiced on rail traffic data in EU countries. Of interest is the identification of passenger and freight traffic trends from 2005 to 2021 in each European country. Furthermore, the quarterly changes in traffic due to the covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 can be well identified from the data. Similarity search procedures are shown on Urban Atlas data. In addition, the use of trained neural networks is practiced to find the similarity of European cities according to land use centres of cities. The semester assignment is also based on European data. In the exercise, the data mining software Orange is used with a visual programming language. The Advanced Geodata Processing course focuses primarily on topics related to spatial statistics - first, it guides students through advanced exploratory analysis methods, then spatially weighted methods are introduced, followed by the use of spatial regression models. The second part of the syllabus consists of the use of geocomputation methods, in which students are introduced to the topics of fuzzy logic, information theory and fractal geometry and their applications in space. Regional NUTS2 statistics from Eurostat and OECD database are used for the exercises. Educational texts such as the Orange software textbook and exercise book for self-practice on EU data are freely available, including source data and program codes, on the project website http://urbandm.upol.cz/ in the Teaching Materials section.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022. There is possible to use ecosystem services to find the most suitable way, how to use some specific free area. There is evaluated the area of Ema heap and adjacent Trojicke udoli in the project RECOVERY. It is post-mining area near the city centre. According to CICES (Common International Classification of Ecosystem Services) classification were selected suitable new landuse in context of using surrounding area. Subsequently scenarios of area reusing were established. There scenarios were evaluated via cross-impact probability method.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022. A separate assessment of passenger and freight transport development is made based on several parameters. The source data includes 3 598 SR70 transport points on the railway. Traffic data in monthly aggregates are attached to each point. Selected traffic points are given special attention, and train traffic factors are identified. Particular emphasis is directed at assessing the impacts of a global pandemic. The evaluated data are compared with statistical data published by the Czech Statistical Office.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022. Coordination and synchronization in the acquisition and management of spatial data and in the planning, creation and operation of all public administration services over spatial data is essential in order to maintain the principle of 3E (efficiency, economy, effectiveness). Therefore, on November 12, 2021, the government approved the GeoInfoStrategy2020+ (Strategy for the Development of Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the Czech Republic after 2020). GeoInfoStrategy2020+ continuously follows the results of the implementation of the Infrastructure Development Strategy for Spatial Information in the Czech Republic until 2020 (GeoInfoStrategy) implemented in 2014 to 2020. The substantive bill on National for Spatial Information (NISI) Government 2021 is the most important Therefore, the elaboration of the bill and its Government, including the accompanying bills, is the first step the data; Development of an environment supporting digital technologies for spatial data and Effective and centrally coordinated development of NISI as a key component of eGovernment and as the digital economy and society.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022. However, cartographic studies are insufficiently concerned with mapping this migration. The aim of the paper is to present the results of the categorization and evaluation of migration maps with a focus on the suitability of cartographic methods for interactive web maps, and the analysis of available technologies for their production. Based on the results of the analysis of existing analogue and digital maps, interactive web maps were created and tested in different technological environments. Information and know-how for working in the tested technological environments was drawn from official documentation and training materials. The results of the work are based on categorization and evaluation of 52 maps and 13 created interactive web maps of migration processed in MapBox, Here Maps, ArcGIS Online, Flowmap.blue and Leaflet technologies.. From the created map outputs, an evaluation of the technologies used is derived. The thesis presents a comprehensive cartographic view of the migration phenomenon and offers an overview of the technologies selected for the creation of interactive web maps.","PeriodicalId":186853,"journal":{"name":"GIS Ostrava 2022.
