Abstract
With the succession of new technologies and rapid data growth, the construction industry is under pressure to use new tools to help work with construction data more efficiently. At the same time, these new technologies and the demand for various data are driven by the demands of the state, public institutions and private investors. Investors see the process as benefit in facilitating processes, transparency and mainly in the use of digital building models in facility management. Of the various industries, the construction industry has the greatest potential to increase the efficiency of its work and achieve savings in construction and facility management. This greater efficiency is helped by the BIM (Building information management) method, which works with construction data throughout its life cycle. The core of this method is a system called CDE (Common data environment), which stores and distributes documents among all participants in the investment process within the entire BIM method. The article mainly deals with the use of CDE, digitization and benefits of the CDE system for all participants in the project.
