With a look to the future its not hard for one to conclude that silicon will meet its fate. Wise men said the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago and the second best time is now. Silicon microchips have been the primary contributor to non eco-friendly technology because the energy needed to manufacture silicon microchips is disproportional their size. The silicon chip has been around for many years but it has brought nothing but trouble to the environment. All electronics using silicon chips also inherit this footprint. A computer for example contains hundreds if not thousand silicon microchips and research has proven that the total energy use embodied by the manufacturing process of computers is 81 to 19 percent when compared to their total operation life cycle energy use. This clearly suggests that there needs to be a new approach for doing things differently. There needs to be another approach which is eco-friendly and has minimal harm to the environment. To contribute towards this bigger cause, we propose in this paper Asynchronous Multicore Microprocessors (AMM) with their respective parallel architectures as a novel approach to realizing Eco-friendly Green Computing.","PeriodicalId":186778,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence (CSCI)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115046229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this research, we propose an algorithm based on the machine learning techniques to predict the risk of coronary artery atherosclerosis. A ridge expectation maximization imputation (REMI) technique is proposed to estimate the missing values in the atherosclerosis databases. A conditional likelihood maximization method is used to remove irrelevant attributes and reduce the size of feature space and thus improve the speed of the learning. The STULONG and UCI databases are used to evaluate the proposed algorithm. The performance of heart disease prediction for two classification models is analyzed and compared to previous work. Experimental results show the improved accuracy percentage of risk prediction of our proposed method compared to other works. The effect of missing value imputation on the prediction performance is also evaluated and the proposed REMI approach performs significantly better than conventional techniques.","PeriodicalId":186778,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence (CSCI)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116322235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Design and the Scope of this new Organization is to bridge scientific and technical communities on the Convergence of BioInformatics with BioTechnologies as applied to Bio and Human Genetics and Stem Cells for Gene and Cell Therapy. This will facilitate the generation of new Knowledge and to propose Innovative Solutions in the Field of Human Health Medicine, especially in Preventative Medicine and in Regenerative and Personalized Therapies, as well as the furtherance of Global Health Policies. The New Advances in Researches supporting implementation in Regenerative Medicine are based on the Capability to induce, produce and extract Autologous Materials, as fluids, molecules, Cells and Tissues from the Donor to be reinjected in the same Recipient, after processing, amplification and enrichment. Due to the multiple utilization of the samples for medium term treatments including for cross-matching and genetic data-base screening, new Models of Clinical Hubs can be designed, based on the Integration of BioBanking and Clinical Regenerative Centers for Therapies at the Point of Care. The use of Autologous Adult Stem Cells, as Fat Tissue derived ASCs (Adipose Tissue Stem Cells) and ADRCs (Adipose - Derived Regenerative Cells), generically indicated as AMSCs, offers, at the present time, a strong ground to realize Autologous Adult Stem Cell Therapy and Tissue Engineering in Healthy and Non-Healthy Donors/Recipients in relevant fields of Application in Medicine and Surgery. The anthropogenic heat contribution of cars to the ambient environment makes them a major source of low-grade energy that has direct and indirect health impacts on pedestrians. Whereas there is a myriad of research that highlights the impact of cars on greenhouse gas emission and pollution indicators, the emitted heat of the cars has remained widely unexplored. In this paper, we present a novel method based on thermal images for analysis of traffic flow in urban roads as well as counting number of people for selected areas. To this end, we use infrared camera sensors to capture the thermal images and apply a Radon transform based method to summarize the data and assess the required information from time series of thermal images. As such, we use a single sensor for our analysis, which is both privacy preserving and not sensitive to visible light condition of the target areas.","PeriodicalId":186778,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence (CSCI)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130425329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
