The data were filtered by upward continuation and then subjected to 3D Euler Deconvolution (ED) using multiple structural indices, which range from 0 to 3. The filtered map showed slightly smoother anomalies, which indicate an increased signal-to-noise ratio. The Euler solutions obtained showed the locations, orientation and depths of different types of geological structures, including contacts, faults, pipe-like structures, and spherical/compact bodies. These solutions were compiled to produce a geological structural map for the study area. The geological structures having high structural indices were mostly located at deeper depths than those having low structural indices. The results also showed that the geology of Omu-Aran and its environs is highly structurally dissected by faults and dike-like structures, among other geological structures. The subsurface structures trend dominantly in the NNE-SSW and ENE-WSW directions. Five potential zones of high structural complexity were identified and two fault zones oriented in the NNE-SSW and ENE-WSW directions were also mapped. The NNE-SSW fault zone was considered a part of the Ifewara Fault zone. The dominant trending structures in the study area were attributed to the continental extension of Atlantic Fracture Zones and Pan-African Orogeny. The geological structures identified in the study area were recommended as potential targets in the search for mineral deposits and for regional groundwater prospecting in Omu-Aran and its environs. The fault zones identified in this study were, however, not recommended as locations for siting man-made infrastructure such as buildings and bridges.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128462627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cowpea and maize seeds were subjected to treatment using essential oils from (Monodora myristica, Eugenia aromatic and Piper guineese) at concentrations of 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 ml/kg of seeds. These were stored at a temperature of 27±2°C and 65 -70% r.h. in the laboratory. The viability test was conducted on the treated seeds at three and six months of storage, using Petri-dishes each containing 10 of randomly selected cowpea and maize seeds in three replicates, at the different levels of oil concentrations. The seeds were placed on moistened cotton wools and covered. Seeds germination occurred mainly within three to five days after commencement of experiment. The data obtained were subjected to two - way analysis of variance, at (p< 5%) using Ducan's multiple range test. It was observed that among the three essential oils applied, seeds treated with Piper guineese oil ranked highest in germinations at a concentration of 5 ml/kg for both seeds, with cowpea seeds having 88.7 and 83.0% and maize seeds with 69.3 and 45.3% at three and six months respectively.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128222963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This verification is what validates the creation of blocks on the blockchain. The verification is done via a concept called consensus. This paper discusses the core consensus mechanisms used in different blockchain networks that apply to education. They include Proof of Work (PoW), Proof of Stake (PoS) and Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS). The paper outlines the concepts involved, the challenges that the mechanisms pose to the network and the overall efficiency of the system when used in educational activities. This paper notes the consensus challenges that directly affect academic activities and proposes possible solutions that could be imbibed for a more efficient system. It endorses DPoS as the consensus mechanism of choice for blockchains in the educational system.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127398710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Synthetic polymers, which are polyethylene terephthalate and polystyrene plastic were used. The physicochemical properties, namely density, flash point, cetane number, and higher heating value of the fuel were determined, and a comparison was made with the physicochemical properties of diesel. The density of the fuel is 804.00 kg/m3 and that of the diesel is 820.00 kg/m 3; the flash point of the fuel is 345.50 K and that of the diesel is 341.00 K; the cetane number of the fuel is 40.50 and that of the diesel is 48.00; the higher heating value of the fuel is 39,500 kJ/kg and that of the diesel is 44,800 kJ/kg. This shows that the difference between the fuel's physicochemical properties, in comparison with those of diesel, is not noticeable. The fuel can, therefore, be used as a replacement for fossil fuel, and reduce the problems of energy crisis and pollution of the environment.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130460784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is still unclear how effective warm mix asphalt is and what proportion of CRM provides the highest fatigue resistance. This study's objective is to assess how much crumb rubber in warm mix asphalt mixtures affects fatigue. A warm mix binder was created by blending a Pen-grade 60/70 bitumen with Sasobit at a weighted percentage of 2.5%. Using a dry process of modification, crumb rubber that could pass through a 12.5 mm screen was added to WMA mixtures at a rate of 0., 10., 15., 20., 25., and up to 50% of the weight of virgin bitumen. The specimens underwent an indirect tensile fatigue test (ITFT) on them at a temperature of 25°C. The mix design obtained by RSM resulted in the production of 30 samples. Three different levels of stress (500., 600., and 700 kPa) were used during the test. the resilience modulus test and the three-point flexural beam test. The findings demonstrated that when temperature and loading rate increase, the rubber asphalt mixture's strength falls and increases, respectively. According to the results of the RSM analysis, the optimal asphalt content for this study is 4.018% asphalt, 20% crumb rubber, 46% coarse aggregate, 10% fine aggregate, and 15% mineral filler.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"245 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131684858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fixed effects and random effects analysis was used for estimation. The results show that immunisation coverage for Hepatitis B did not significantly impact child mortality before the GVAP initiative, but was significant during the post-GV AP era in reducing child mortality; maternal literacy and improved water source are significant factors in reducing child mortality. The results suggest that improvements in immunisation coverage have not translated to significant reductions in child mortality in West Africa. This could be due to the inefficient impact of the GVAP initiative in West Africa. The study recommends that governments in West Africa could focus on strengthening the impact of the GVAP initiative by ensuring an enabling environment for the initiative through its African Regional Immunisation Strategic Plan to carry out its objectives and programmes that promote awareness for mothers could be implemented by governments within this region with the aim of achieving a reduction in under-five deaths.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122339206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, the survival rate of newly founded SMEs is generally low, with SME survival rates in underdeveloped nations being significantly lower. Thus, SMEs may contribute to economic growth with an increased survival and sustainability rate with the appropriate strategy. This raises the essential question of what are the factors that affect SMEs' sustainability. The article aims to compile a list of numerous factors identified by various academics utilizing the systematic literature review research technique. The study seeks to add to the body of knowledge by presenting comprehensive state-of-the-art viewpoints and findings in the domain of sustainability and survival with their factors, with a focus on SMEs.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122464970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These attributes are specific to each subject and remain unchanged over the course of an individual's lifetime. The single-mode, two-mode biometric recognition systems still suffer problems of high rate of false positives and false negatives. Hence, in this paper multiple instances of three passive biometric modalities were captured and combined to address the drawbacks in two-mode and single-mode biometric systems using Convolution Neural Network_Genetic Algorithm (CNN_GA) which is a deep structured learning strategy. A database with 1026 training samples and 684 probing samples of face, ear, and iris modalities was used to test the system. The full system's design and implementation were completed on MATLAB R2016a programming platform. The system's performance was evaluated on the basis of sensitivity, specificity, precision, system accuracy, and computation time. The outcome demonstrates that the designed three-mode system outperformed the two-mode and single-mode counterparts at various threshold values of 0.20, 0.35, 0.50, and 0.76 in terms of sensitivity, specificity, precision, and system accuracy. As this study's findings demonstrate, combining data from several sources adopting deep structured learning strategy has been able to improve the performance of the systems in terms of sensitivity, specificity, precision, and system accuracy.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131533667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
