This paper shows the ability of the desktop 3D printers (also known as low cost 3D printers) to produce 3D biomodels able to be used on hemodynamic experimental flow studies. Overall, this paper shows that Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) process combined with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) replication molding is a promising way to produce affordable biomedical devices to perform hemodynamic studies at both macro and micro scale levels. Studies regarding the pregnant’s body size variation, namely for the design of clothes during gestation are quit common. But anthropometrics is a lot more, it is also a science that aids in characterizing the body morphology and composition of humans. There are standard data of anthropometric parameters for specific populations, however, it doesn’t seem to exist any specific values or data for pregnant women. Neither the indication to use the standard values is mentioned or stated. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to evaluate if the default data and the current anthropometric tools are appropriate to be used on pregnant women. In this study, we analysed and evaluated the morphologic characterization and the body composition of pregnant women using existing anthropometric restricted profile methods. The tools considered in this study were: Body Mass Index, Somatotype, Conicity Index, AbdominalHip Ratio and Waist-Height Ratio. Some tools do not demonstrate efficiency in the anthropometric evaluation such as Body Mass Index by placing the pregnant women within risk levels that do not correspond to reality. However, other methods are plausible to be used, such as Conicity, Index Abdominal-Hip and Waist-Height Ratios were the values obtained within the expected range. In conclusion, the existing anthropometric tools need further study when characterizing pregnant women. DOI: https:/doi.org/10.24243/JMEB/2.5.176 2018. Published by Rational Publication. Over time, the problem seems to get worse. Access to information technology, contrary to expectations, has aggravated the problem because people carry in their daily lives more electronic equipment of a nonnegligible weight. If we take as example of the military soldiers, they carry some of the material in a bag next to their chest. Using a backpack type double backpack, studies suggest its performance is better than traditional transport. This solution has not been systematically studied for the civilian population .The goal of this work is to study the problem of the transport of a non-negligible load, on the back, during a distance corresponding to a journey. Check for the advantages of using a double backpack. The method used is biomechanics. Will be analyzed the several parameters of gait in particular will be used electromyography, thermography and kinetics. For this study, we will take healthy young adults with ages between 18 to 30 and it is expected to confirm the advantages of using double backpack by the civilian population for the transport of high loads minimizing possible future injuries.
