The experiments of manganese leaching of low grade manganese ore from Way Kanan regency Lampung province using sugarcane molasses as reductan agent in sulfuric acid were investigated. This experiment was conducted to study the processes controlling the leaching rate of manganese ore and the values of the reaction rate constants and / or the diffusion constant and activation energy . Leaching is done with the experimental conditions remain Percent solids 10 % , stirring speed 300 rpm , temperature and concentration are varied , molasses doses as much as 80 g / L. Kinetics behaviour of mangan leaching was predicted by using Shrinking Core model ( SCM) . The results of leaching of low grade manganese ore from Way Kanan regency Lampung province can be done by using molasses as a reducing agent in sulfuric acid medium. Therefore its facilitate the formation of the homogeneous bulk of Fe-Cr alloy with a stable phase. In this research, the synthesis of bulk of Fe-Cr alloy from the particles mixture of (Fe+Cr) as the ultrasonic treatment results has been carried out. The particles consolidation has been carried out through a process of compaction without adding any lubricants and followed by sintering process in the quartz glass capsules by using induction furnace at 1300 °C. Consolidation of mixture of Fe-Cr particles that have not undergone previous ultrasonic treatment is also made for a comparison. The investigation by using the SEM (scanning electron microscope)- and density measurements method were preformed on the Fe-Cr green powders compaction. The bulk of Fe-Cr alloys that are produced trough sintering process was observed using SEM-EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy), XRD (x-ray diffraction), and density measurements method. The bulk of Fe-Cr alloy prepared with ultrasonically treated Fe-Cr microalloy powders, is more homogeneous in composition and has a better phase stability in comparison to Fe-Cr powders prepared without the ultrasonic treatment. Nickel Pig Iron or NPI is ferronickel containing less than 15% nickel with sulfur and phosphorus levels higher than ferronickel. NPI is made from low-grade laterite nickel ore, Ni <1.8% which are widely available in Indonesia. The NPI is mainly use as a raw material for making stainless steel and nickel alloy steel. Nickel provides more value in the form of corrosion resistance, ductility, strength and improve weldability properties better than ordinary steel wihout containing of nickel. The aims of this research are to study decarburisation process of NPI with carbon content 3-4% to produce very low carbon laterite steel, C <0.03%. The method used was a laboratory-scale experiment for 200 kg of molten metal. The raw material is melted in electric induction furnace 500 kg capacity, then the liquid metal is poured into the converter. Furthermore, oxygen is blown to the surface of molten metal using a lance pipe coated with refractory materials.
