For this type of renewable energy applications a double trend can be identified according to power conversion systems below few kW and higher than 3–5 kW. The paper deeply analyses both converter configurations also taking into consideration the control aspects connected to the efficient and reliable connection to the grid of such systems. Some experimental results are presented dealing with two prototypes belonging to each of the identified classes of converters.","PeriodicalId":183864,"journal":{"name":"2009 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132319915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main problems of such systems, located in isolated areas of difficult access, is the inverters. The mean time before failure of these equipments has been shown smaller than expected. In these applications the inverters should have the following features: expansion flexibility and robustness; high efficiency; and adequacy to operate in adverse environmental conditions. The results presented in this paper are related to inverter's development taking into account these requirements. The paper will present the mode of operation of the system, showing its robustness and viability for utilization of the inverters in standalone renewable energy systems.","PeriodicalId":183864,"journal":{"name":"2009 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference","volume":"4 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128604832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A detailed review of the space vector modulation in over-modulation region is initially presented. Then, an anti-windup method for current controller of PMSG is proposed. Simulation results are presented and illustrate suitable closed loop performance.","PeriodicalId":183864,"journal":{"name":"2009 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131210324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This proposed system allows the use of three-phase agricultural equipments. The system proposed is formed by two bidirectional three-phase PWM converters, easily found to acquire at local market. The energy processed by single-phase transformer is maximized due the use of the Power Factor Correction technique at the input converter. The output voltages are free of harmonics and allow non-balanced loads. The control strategy and design procedure are presents to both rectifier and inverter stages. Finally, will be present the experimental results of the proposed feeding system.","PeriodicalId":183864,"journal":{"name":"2009 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference","volume":"2006 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123913626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These systems are considered outdated due the lack of communication capabilities, not allowing system feedback. This work aims to add communication capabilities to the systems already in use, through the integration of an IEEE 802.15.4 compatible transceiver to the photoelectric relay used to turn the HPS lamps on/off. This change will turn each device into a node of a large wireless network across the city.","PeriodicalId":183864,"journal":{"name":"2009 Brazilian Power Electronics Conference","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121643994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This scheme uses stator flux decoupling and deadbeat control loops. The algorithm of the deadbeat calculates the voltage vector to be supplied to the rotor in order to guarantee that the active and reactive power reach their desired reference values. Because the generator leakage inductance and resistance information were required for this control method, the influence of the estimation errors for these parameters was also investigated.
