Single-tone, multi-tone, random and chaotic signals are used and compared as waveforms for wireless power transfer. The influence of peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and average input power of the waveform on the efficiency of RF-to-DC conversion is measured in laboratory conditions and studied. A commercially available RF energy harvesting device — Powercast P2110B is used as RF-to-DC conversion circuitry.","PeriodicalId":183694,"journal":{"name":"2017 Advances in Wireless and Optical Communications (RTUWO)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132539383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Antenna pair is selected in accordance with maximum and second maximum signal to selfinterference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) between the sources and the relay. The exact expression for sum outage probability over Rayleigh fading channels is derived and validated via Monte Carlo simulation technique. Results show that error floor due to a specific self-interference (SI) value is independent from total number of antennas at the sources and begins at the same SINR value for different total number of antennas at the sources. It is also shown that error floor due to SIs can be decreased and performance can be significantly improved by usage of offered TRAS strategy at terminal sources.","PeriodicalId":183694,"journal":{"name":"2017 Advances in Wireless and Optical Communications (RTUWO)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126938495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this scheme, source TAS is performed based on the channel fading coefficients corresponding to source-destination, source-relay and relay-destination links. SSK is applied by using the selected antennas. Moreover, a single-antenna relay is used to amplify the transmitted signal from the source and forward it to the destination. Considerably tight upper-bound and lower-bound expressions for the bit error probability of the proposed SSK system are derived when the number of selected antennas is two. It is demonstrated that the proposed SSK scheme outperforms conventional cooperative SSK scheme without source TAS and also the cooperative SSK scheme in which a single-antenna decode-and-forward relay is used and source-destination channel-based TAS is adopted.","PeriodicalId":183694,"journal":{"name":"2017 Advances in Wireless and Optical Communications (RTUWO)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133514893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
