These older adults often step in to care for their grandchildren or other children in their extended family, providing a vital safety net for vulnerable children. However, the challenges faced by these informal kinship carers, such as financial strain and a lack of support, are significant.This study aims at finding out the public perception of cash transfers to older adults taking care of foster children in an informal fostering arrangement. It employed a mixed method of research by conducting an in-depth interview (IDI) and distributing a questionnaire. The researcher made use of 10 participants for the IDI who are older adults taking care of foster children and 5 respondents for the quantitative study, which comprised older adults who are not taking care of foster children. The findings of this study show that the majority of the respondents (about 80%) have not benefited from cash transfer programs. The findings also show that the majority of the respondents are aware of social work practitioners and their roles with regards to foster care, as they recommend that workers should engage in enlightening the public on the available support services that have been put in place to cater for foster children across the nation, linking foster care homes and families to cash transfer programs, liaising with the government to create policies that ensure the wellness of foster children, and ensuring child welfare to promote awareness.","PeriodicalId":183161,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Science and Human Research","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141800574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The type of research that the author uses is empirical normative legal research (Socio-Legal), where normative law refers to legal norms, laws and regulations, while empirical law here refers to the situation in the field of how the readiness of private hospitals will be involved in hospital-based specialist education. The result of this study is that the distribution of medical personnel, especially specialist doctors, is still a big challenge. Although the development of medical technology in Indonesia is quite rapid, the distribution of human resources capable of utilizing it has not been evenly distributed. Based on data from various sources, the number of specialist doctors is still far from the standard set by WHO, with a ratio of 0.65 doctors per 1,000 population in 2023, far below the WHO standard of 1:1,000. This imbalance is particularly evident in 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost) areas such as NTB and Toli-Toli, where the shortage of specialists is particularly pronounced. Programs such as Nusantara Sehat and new government initiatives for hospital-based specialist education are expected to help address this issue, but their implementation and success still need to be evaluated. The success of these programs is critical to achieving equity in health care and to improving the overall health status of Indonesians.","PeriodicalId":183161,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Science and Human Research","volume":"50 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141798953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is evident through the establishment of quality assurance units dedicated to the maintenance of high standards of education. Even though the significance of Quality Management Practices (QMPs) is acknowledged, Namibian HEIs encounter numerous challenges in hindering an effective implementation of QMPs. This study focused on identifying the challenges associated with the implementation of QMPs at HEIs in Namibia, with the aim of exploring how the implementation of QMPs can be improved for Namibian HEIs to produce quality graduates suited for market demand. A mixed-methods research methodology was employed for the study, where a total of 23 staff members and 74 final-year students from one public HEI in Namibia were selected as participants for the study. Questionnaires were distributed to both staff members and students, while staff members were also interviewed to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges related to the implementation of QMPs. Key findings revealed that the implementation of QMPs was faced by challenges related to inadequate human and financial resources, limited awareness about the benefits of quality management, poor communication and lack of collaborations within departments of HEIs, ineffective decision-making processes and inadequate training for staff members on QMPs. To mitigate these challenges, HEIs in Namibia should enhance their communication efforts with all stakeholders, increase staffing, and maximise training opportunities on QMPs. This will ensure an effective implementation of QMPs among HEIs, resulting in the production of graduates who are suited for the labour market.","PeriodicalId":183161,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Science and Human Research","volume":"25 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141803040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Code-switching, a common phenomenon in multilingual societies, reflects the impact of globalization, digital media, and educational policies promoting English proficiency. Using a quantitative methodology, including a questionnaire, data were collected from 100 high school students in two public high schools in the city of Marrakech. The analysis reveals that 84% of the participants frequently switch between Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and English, highlighting the significant role of English in their linguistic repertoire. The frequency of code-switching varies, with some students switching rarely and others always, indicating different levels of comfort and proficiency in English shaped by individual and sociocultural factors. Social context plays a crucial role, with most students code-switching with friends, emphasizing peer influence, while fewer do so with family, suggesting the preservation of traditional language norms within households. This study provides valuable insight into the complex linguistic landscape of Moroccan high schools, highlighting the interplay between English and native languages, and offering implications for educational policy and sociolinguistic research. By understanding these dynamics, stakeholders can better support the linguistic and cultural needs of students in a multilingual society.","PeriodicalId":183161,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Science and Human Research","volume":"43 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141805790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It advances personal growth, consciousness, and societal change through a holistic learning experience. This research paper delves into ascertaining the whole-person approach along the transformative education of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP). It explores the practices, relates the experiences, and describes the opportunities espoused by the University in fostering transformative learning outcomes. Using the qualitative research design, particularly focus group discussion, the study brings to light various perspectives that illustrate SPUP’s whole-person approach relevant to its mission towards transformative learning. The findings from this study highlight SPUP’s endeavours in cultivating a positive convergence of the dimensions of human life, namely: physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing; social engagement; intellectual, moral and ethical, career development; cultural competence; environmental sustainability; and personal agency and resilience, in the University’s educational process to advance transformative learning.","PeriodicalId":183161,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Science and Human Research","volume":"34 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141804401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the powers of the Constitutional Court is to decide disputes over general election results. Disputes regarding general election results are closely related to political practices or national political conditions. Political conditions will greatly influence the Constitutional Court's decision regarding disputes over general election results. The political configuration resulting from the intersection between law and politics occurred in the Constitutional Court in deciding disputes over general election results. This research uses normative legal research. The approaches taken are a statutory approach and a case approach. Data was collected through library research. In the case of dispute over the results of the 2024 general election, the emergence of dissenting opinions by judges has shown that there are differences in the schools of thought held by constitutional judges. The school of thought held is very closely related to political views. So that PHPU decisions that have a strong political dimension result in the emergence of decisions that have an authoritarian or orthodox character.","PeriodicalId":183161,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social Science and Human Research","volume":"11 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141803181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
