The paper considers physical and chemical regularities of formation of discrete diffusion oxidation, designed for hardening and wear resistance of high-speed cutting tools. The results of research of structure and properties of structural alloyed steels due to formation of discrete diffusion oxidation are presented. It is shown that the field of use of additive technologies is much wider than it was previously accepted., and mainly covers modern flexible-structured production of such branches of mechanical engineering, where there is a constant updating of products and the technological process is based on the production of limited batches of high-tech products, as a rule, according to preliminary orders of the consumer. It is proved that the scientific foundations of the multilayer formation of parts created to date are legitimate for coating, controlled layer-by-layer changes in the performance characteristics of materials, the creation of means of cooling the hot zone of aircraft engines in aerospace engineering, where multilayer templates with specified performance characteristics can be used as a data carrier. A new (according to the authors’ patent) direction of manufacturing unprofiled electrode tools with giving them useful properties of a profile tool is considered. The ways of solving the problem of controlling the operational characteristics of products by creating parts from conjugate layers, the properties of which are formed by optimizing technological modes, are proposed. It is necessary to develop new recommendations with\u0000adaptation to high-performance processing on CNC machines. The recommendations of foreign tool manufacturers are\u0000insolvent for choosing their tool, because there are no direct foreign analogues of this steel. Researches are carried out to\u0000reduce the consumption of hard tool alloys of VK, ТК and ТТК groups, as well as number of foreign tool materials. The\u0000possibility of using VК8 alloy with coatings for turning by removable standard hard alloy plates is established. Rational\u0000coatings are chosen from the number of known coatings. This approach is used when dividing stacked substrates into crystal disks, which have a tapered side surface and, accordingly, a difference in the size of the diameters at the ends of the crystal. The process of the formation of crystal disks is described and the dependence of the crystal taper on the masking method and the parameters of jet-abrasive processing is revealed. This effect is explained by the removal of a defective surface layer containing microcracks and subject to the influence of residual tensile stresses. It is shown that the proposed stage of vibro-abrasive processing with ceramic granules makes it possible to almost completely remove iron introduced after vibro-impact surface hardening, which makes it possible to exclude the operation of etching in nitric acid from the technological process.
