However, the average output voltage level and the output voltage ripple are factors that directly impact the whole system's efficiency, useful life, component degradation, power quality, to name a few. Such analysis is complicated by the number of stages, synchronization, and conduction mode, and related research has been limited to interconnection issues, voltage gain, maximum power point tracking, and so on. In this paper, formulations for the average output voltage and the output voltage ripple are presented. These formulas can be used if overall boost stages operating either in continuous or discontinuous conduction mode, and their triggering is either phase-shifted or simultaneous. The formulations are validated by specialized software.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128491605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Other aspects that these converters must satisfy are associated to the new requirements of the load consumption. These requirements have been standardized to 48V, 24, 12V and 5V for different applications such as LED lighting, battery banks, amongst others. Also, one important requirement in these systems is that the power processing by the converter must be carried out as efficiently as possible. This paper presents an implemmentation of a quadratic buck converter based on the concept R2P2 as an alternative for photovoltaic applications, where the characteristics of the input current demanded to the panels and the reduction of EMI are improved. In this work, the description of the system formed by the quadratic buck converter R2P2 with an input filter is analyzed, where the requirements of non-pulsating input current and output voltage regulation are satisfied. In addition, the design procedure of the elements that form the converter is developed, as well as the description of the operating modes during the switching process of the converter. Finally, the linear and non-linear models of the converter are presented, as well as some comparative aspects against proposed topologies and the experimental verification.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127492687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such schemes are said to be resistant to attacks from quantum computers. With this, the need to start experimenting and implementing with these schemes has arisen. In addition to that, there is a variety of post-quantum cryptographic schemes libraries written in different programming languages and compiled for different architectures. However, in order to a programmer can integrate them into an Android application, it is necessary to compile the source code, perform the integration and test this last one. As a consequence it is not possible to have a ready-to-use library. Based on the aforementioned, in this paper we present the design of a post-quantum scheme library for Android operating system that has the characteristic to be ready-to-use. Moreover, obtained results shows our library has the three main aspects that make a library good.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126677704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Photovoltaic systems (PV) arc the most popular, due the flexibility and simple installation. As it is known, PS' uses electronic power converters to adapt and get the necessary features as power sour-ce. Typically, PV converters produce certain implicit harmonic distortion current level due to the power electronics components. Therefore, additional considerations must be taken into account on typical distribution networks analysis. This paper shows the main effects of PV systems in a typical mexican radial network. Cases were adapted to approach the most symbolic and relevant technical and operational aspects. Maximum PV generation and minimum load conditions are considered as main operational states. Operational technical limits are taken also into account. Electrical parameters such as ener losses, power factor (PF), voltage regulation (VR) and voltage total harmonic distortion (THD) are analyzed in this context. Impact level is estimated in function of operational technical limits and electrical parameters.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114516074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the operation of the Distance Relay (21-ANSI/IEEE Standard Device Number) as primary or main protection as well as backup protection for overhead transmission lines is analyzed. The relay was modeled by using the ATP/EMTP program in order to visualize its response to different fault conditions and apparent impedance trajectories in the R-X complex diagram. MODELS programming language is used, which allows to implement algorithms that are used for structuring the functions and the operation logics of the relay. The relay behaviour under fault conditions at different locations along the line is validated by comparing it with the fault records from a real event in the electric power system of mexican utility.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124048249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, it is presented a discussion about the application of different sensitivity models, in order to analyze the problem about voltage behavior with respect to reactive power load increases in electric power systems. For this purpose, three different models used to obtain voltage linear sensitivities are formulated using the complete Jacobian matrix, reduced Jacobian matrix, and B” matrix from the fast decoupled power flow method. Results obtained with these models to a test system, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each model are discussed.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116880000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, numerical simulations are performed for a PV system composed of an array of panels, a DC/DC converter and a single-phase power inverter feeding a resistive load. Results under load variations show the need of performing power tracking to achieve the demand supply. Moreover, in order to keep a proper operation of the power inverter a DC-link voltage control is also performed by an improved power tracking method combining a P&O algorithm and a PI regulation loop. The proposed algorithm shows an acceptable performance to keep power delivery under environmental variations. This method seems to be effective to PV systems in stand-alone applications. Ongoing work is currently devoted to perform experimental validation of the numerical results presented.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115478307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach is based on a pixel-wise classification boosted with a morphology operator. Color indices, commonly used for plant segmentation in image processing are proposed here for separating grape pixels from background, along with color components from color spaces. These color features are the input for the classification process. The proposed pipeline achieves an accuracy of 0.901 on images similar to the ones used for training, and 0.84 on images from a different dataset. Automatic cephalometric analysis systems rely on the precise labeling of lateral skull radiographs. This task demands from the health expert, an excellent visual acuity, and a significant amount of time in the medical image's manual labeling. This paper proposes a computational tool to support the process of semi-automatic labeling of Lateral Cephalometric Radiographs (LCR). The tool receives as input a set of images corresponding to LCR and performs automatic tasks such as filtering and digital signal processing to assist the health expert on the labeling task, using computational visual human perception models. The tool output is a set of N cephalometric landmarks (x, y) for each LCR. This tool has a set of image preprocessing techniques that clarify the manual labeling getting the accuracy required by the experts. It supports the experts in the cephalometric analysis. The second application is the creation of a new database for the development of automatic cephalometric landmark identification systems.","PeriodicalId":177447,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE International Autumn Meeting on Power, Electronics and Computing (ROPEC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130141995","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
