Intrusion detection and prevention systems have dominated the market for security in conventional networks. The challenge to IDPS is huge resource utilization and imparting performance penalties. Also, real-time training of detection machine learning models has been an issue. In this research, we develop an agent-based IDPS system using software-defined networking (SDN) technology at its core. The system develops a baseline profile for the IoT network by analyzing data from all the devices under normal conditions. Based on this profile, we extract the network traffic features. Using these features, we construct our dataset for anomaly detection in the network. For detection, we use a support vector machine to detect ICMP flood and TCP SYN flood attacks. The R-IDPS machine learning model is capable of real-time training. The proposed model (R-IDPS) is fully capable of mitigating attacks using SDN technology. The main objective of the research is to analyze the accuracy of the proposed SDN-based intrusion detection system especially under the stress conditions of DDoS attacks. Simulation results show 97 % to 99 % of attack detection accuracy with no false positives. Though, railway department assures the presence of two drivers in the main cockpit of a train, but any human error could result in catastrophic fatalities. In order to ensure the attention of a rail driver, an indigenous solution is developed using a Raspberry Pi 3 B+, a webcam and Open CV libraries for the detection of driver's attentiveness. The algorithm works on the basics of Haar Cascade Classifier for capturing the eyes movement, which performs its operation using the binary classifier. Therefore, if the eyelids are close (i.e., the statement of the binary classifier is true) for more than 15 seconds, an alert will be sent to the railway control room regarding the driver's drowsiness, resulting the mitigation of disastrous outcome by ensuring the necessarily and timely measures. To validate the instrumentation, it was compared with Haar classifier along with a survey of the train drivers regarding the effectiveness of the developed prototype. In the proposed method, the fuzzy system is an unknown dynamic estimator of the used power system. Also, to solve the singularity issue of the controller, the estimated gain matrix is separated into a multiplication of a diagonal matrix two orthogonal matrices. Additionally, to compensate for large errors, we have used a control resistor term. Adaptive rules parameters and terms related to the robust control part are obtained using Lyapunov stability analysis. The proposed method ensures that all signals from closed-loop are bounded and uniform. To show the capabilities and abilities of the proposed method, numerical studies on the nonlinear 6-bus system are provided. Also, to show the robustness of the designed stabilizer, we have applied the type of three-phase and one-phase error to the system. Previous research implemented a CAN network that connects a central processing unit to a throttle controller, a steering module, and a braking system. The previous research successfully accomplished controlling the ATV to move in a Figure-8 pattern backward, but it faced a problem in maintaining a constant speed on different inclined ramps and to make sharp turns going forward. This paper discusses the solutions to control the speed and the handlebar angle. The research includes a closed loop control system to control the ATV speed by getting current speed feedback from the ATV engine velocity sensor. The paper discusses different methodologies to determine the speed including an encoder and Global Positioning System. This paper also describes the problem with the caster angle in the previous studies with respect to the steering angle control. A new design was implemented with an additional servo motor using pulleys and aluminum wire to steer the handlebar as an average human would steer it. Different coupling methods have been proposed between those two types of waveguides without taking into consideration the effect of sandwiching the metal-dielectric-metal (MDM) plasmonic waveguide between the two conventional dielectric waveguides (CDWs). In this research work, using the finite-difference-time-domain method, we numerically analyze the effect of increasing the length of the sandwiched MDM plasmonic waveguide on the extracted light into the output CDW. We found that embedding the MDM plasmonic waveguide between two CDWs causes a reduction in the width of the spectrum response due to the FP cavity-like response compared to that without sandwiching the MDM plasmonic waveguide. We also investigated the effect of changing various parameters of the design dimensions on the spectrum response of our proposed design. Measurement of sensors in sensor networks can be provided using a Gaussian hybrid model. In this paper, the data are first generated by a combination of Gaussian components and then uncertainty is added to them. Then, a new distributed algorithm called Evidential EM algorithm is used to estimate Gaussian components in the hybrid model. The proposed algorithm is actually an extended version of the EM algorithm for estimating and classifying uncertain data, which consists of two parts of averaging and maximization.
