Yalçın","doi":"10.17099/JFFIU.09338","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17099/JFFIU.09338","url":null,"abstract":"Surface glossiness properties of impregnated with some plant tannins and varnished wooden material Abstract: In this study, beech woods (Fagus orientalis L.) were subjected to coating process with polyurethane, cellulosic and water-based varnishes after impregnated with mimosa (Acacia mollissima) and quebracho (Shinopsis lorentzii) extracts at 5%, and 10% concentration levels and Tanalith-E at %4.5. The changes in surface glossiness were investigated after accelerated weathering for 100 and 300 hours. According to the obtained results, the highest glossiness values for before and after accelarated weathering were obtained untreated control samples. Also, the surface glossiness values were decreased with the accelerated weathering the except for polyurethane varnish. The best result for varnishes types in terms of glossiness have been obtained in polyurethane varnish. The surface glossiness of polyurethane gave higher values when the weathering period reached 100 hours as compared before weathering. When the concentration levels of tannis reached from 5% to 10%, the glossiness values were decreased in certain rates. When the wood materials that impregnated with mimosa and quebracho extracts applied to polyurethane varnish, they can be maintained both durability and surface glossiness for a longer time. Keywords: Tannin, varnish, accelerated weathering, glossiness Bazi bitki tanenleri ile emprenye edilen ve verniklenen agac malzemelerin yuzey parlaklik ozellikleri Ozet: Bu calismada, %5 ve %10 konsantrasyonlarda mimoza (Acacia mollissima) ve kebrako (Shinopsis lorentzii) ekstraktlari ve %4.5’lik Tanalith-E ile emprenye edilen kayin (Fagus orientalis L.) odunundan hazirlanan deney ornekleri poliuretan, selulozik ve su bazli vernikler ile ust yuzey islemine tabi tutulmustur. 100 ve 300 saatlik hizlandirilmis yaslandirma sonrasinda yuzey parlakliginda meydana gelen degisimler arastirilmistir. Elde edilen sonuclara gore, yaslandirma oncesi ve yaslandirma sorasi en yuksek parlaklik degerleri emprenye edilmemis kontrol orneklerinde elde edilmistir. Ayrica poliuretan vernigi haricinde genel olarak yaslandirma islemi ile birlikte vernik yuzeylerindeki parlaklik degerlerinde azalma meydana gelmistir. Vernik cesitleri icerisinde en iyi parlaklik degerleri poliuretan verniginde elde edilmistir. 100 saat yaslandirma islemine tabi tutulan poliuretan vernikli deney ornekleri kontrol orneklerine gore daha yuksek parlaklik degeri vermistir. Tanenler ile emprenye edilen orneklerde konsantrasyon seviyesi %5’ten %10’a arttirildiginda parlaklik degerlerinde belli oranlarda azalma gorulmustur. Bu sonuclara gore, mimoza ve kebrako ekstraktlari ile emprenye edilen agac malzemeler poliuretan vernigi uygulanarak hem dayanikliliklari hem de yuzey parlakliklari uzun sure korunabilir. Guler","doi":"10.17099/JFFIU.33058","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17099/JFFIU.33058","url":null,"abstract":"The effect of heat treatment on the dimensional stability of ash ( Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl.) wood Abstract: In this study, effect of heat treatment on dimensional stability of ash ( Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl.) woods that naturally grown in Turkey, was investigated. Heat treatment process was applied to ash wood samples at different temperatures (120, 160, 190 and 210 °C) and times (3, 6 and 9 h) in water vapor atmosphere. Water absorption (WA), water repellent effectiveness (WRE), anti-swell effectiveness (ASE, TS 4084) and ATR-FTIR were performed on the test samples. Generally, while the WA decreased with the raise of treatment temperature and times, mean of the WRE and ASE increased. It was determined that the decreases in the absorbance value of the peak belong to the -OH stretching vibration depending on the heat treatment temperature increases. Especially, ASE increased to over 40% with a rapid increase after the three hours application at 190 °C. The highest dimensional stability (58.4%) of ash wood was detected in the highest heat treatment temperature and times (210 °C and 9 h). As a result, it was showed that value and product quality of solid products produced from ash wood with the heat treatment can be improved without use of toxic chemicals. Keywords: Ash wood, Dimensional stability, ATR-FTIR, Water absorption, water repellent effectiveness Disbudak ( Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl.) odununun boyutsal stabilizasyonu uzerine isil islemin etkisi Ozet: Bu calismada, Turkiye’de dogal olarak yetisen disbudak ( Fraxinus angustifolia Vahl.) odununun boyutsal stabilizasyonu uzerine isil islemin etkisi arastirilmistir. Disbudak orneklerine su buhari ortaminda, farkli sicaklik (120, 160, 190 ve 210 °C) ve surelerde (3, 6 ve 9 saat) isil islem uygulanmistir. Deney ornekleri uzerinde, su alma orani (SAO), su itici etkinlik (SIE), genislemeyi onleyici etkinlik (GET) ve ATR-FTIR analizleri gerceklestirilmistir. Genel olarak isil islem sicaklik ve suresinin artisi ile SAO’larinda azalmalar meydana gelir iken, SIE ve GET degerlerinde artislar tespit edilmistir. Isil islem sicakliginin artisina bagli olarak, -OH gerilme titresimine ait piklerin absorbans degerlerinde azalmalar tespit edilmistir. Ozellikle 190 °C’de 3 saatlik uygulamada GET degerleri hizli bir artis ile %40’in uzerine cikmistir. Disbudak odununun en yuksek boyutsal stabilite degerleri (%58.4), en yuksek isil islem sicaklik ve suresinde (210 °C ve 9 saat) elde edilmistir. Sonuc olarak, isil islem uygulamasi ile disbudaktan uretilen masif odun urunlerinin kalite ve degerlerinin zehirleyici kimyasallar kullanilmadan artirilabilecegi gorulmustur. Bu calismada amac; Trabzon kentinde artan ihtiyaclar dogrultusunda yapilan Yavuz Selim Bulvarinin, yapimindan sonra ortaya cikan mekâni analiz etmektir. Yavuz Selim Bulvar’inin guney ve kuzey kesimin de yer alan 92 bina, bina onu ve yol; mekânsal bilesenler acisindan irdelenmistir. Tum binalarin islevleri, yol ve bina giris kotu arasindaki farklar, binalarin kat yukseklikleri, yol genisligi, yapisal ve bitkisel peyzaj elemanlari tespit edilmistir. Turkiye’deki mutfak mobilyasi ureticileri uzerinde yapilmis olan anket calismasi sonuclari dunya mutfak trendleri cercevesinde degerlendirilmistir. Sektor isletmelerinin projelerinde en cok tercih ettikleri boyutlar ve ebatlarla ilgili olarak elde edilen bulgulara dayanarak ulkemizde tercih edilen; mutfak alanlari, mutfak govde boyutlari, kapak turleri, kiler dolap boyutlari ve baza yukseklikleri belirlenmistir. Turkiye’deki mutfak alanlari dagilimi ile ilgili olarak en cok tercih edilen mutfak alaninin 8-11 m2 arasinda oldugu gorulmektedir. Uretimde tercih edilen govde malzemesi yonelimleri ile ilgili olarak, %61.8 oraniyla MDF malzemeye bir egilimin oldugu ortaya cikmistir. Govde boyutlarindaki tercihler ise, gerek ust dolaplarda, gerekse alt dolaplarda 61-90 cm’lik genisliklerin, yukseklikte ise 72 cm’lik boyutlarin en cok tercih edildigi belirlenmistir. Kiler dolap tercihlerinde genisligin 60 cm’den kucuk, yuksekligin 200 cm’den buyuk oldugu, bazalarda ise 12 cm nin en fazla tercih edildigi gorulmustur. Ormancilik politikasi acisindan bu amaclari gerceklestirebilmek icin, ormancilik politikasi araclari; ormancilikla ilgili yasal duzenlemeler, orman mulkiyeti ve halkla iliskiler seklinde belirlenmektedir. Bu baglamda bu calismanin baslica amaclari; (1) Orman sinirlari disina cikarma islemlerine yonelik olarak gerceklestirilen kadastro calismalarini teknik yonden analiz etmek, (2) Bu calismalarin mevzuat bakimindan ongorulen amaclara uygunlugunu denetlemek, (3) Kadastro ekipleri, orman idareleri ve orman koylulerinin bakisiyla bu calismalara yonelik sorunlari belirlemek ve (4) Orman sinirlari disina cikarma uygulamalarinin ulkemiz ormanciligi acisindan dogurabilecegi sonuclari tartismaktir. Bu amaclar cercevesinde Istanbul Ili arastirma alani olarak secilmistir. Ancak zaman ve calisabilirlik acisindan Istanbul’daki butun orman sinirlari disina cikarilan alanlarin tek tek ele alinip degerlendirilmesi olanakli olamayacagindan, yoresel olcekte bir ornek alanin secilmesi uygun gorulmustur. Istanbul Ili Şile Ilcesi’nde Ahmetli, Imrendere, Karamendere, Korucukoy ve Ovacik Koyleri 2/B uygulamalari acisindan ornek alanlar olarak secilmistir. Arastirma alaninda secilen ornek alanlarda parsellerin tamami calismaya konu edilmistir. Arastirma sonucunda 1744, 2896 ve 3302 Sayili Yasalarla degisik 2B uygulamalarinin, son yapilan ve kesin olan 5831 Sayili Yasa uygulamalariyla degerlendirildiginde; arastirma alaninda sinir taslarinin araziye tesisi ve haritaya tersimi sirasinda onemli teknik hatalarin olustugu, uygulamalara konu edilen arazilerin bir kisminin bilim ve fen bakimindan orman niteliklerini kaybetmedikleri ve ilgili mevzuatta ongorulen olcutlere uymadigi belirlenmistir. 2/B’ ye konu olmus sahalarin onemli bir kismi ise; eskiden beri sahipli olan orman disi tapulu araziler oldugu, orman kadastrosunun yapildigi yillarda bile tarim arazisi olarak kullanilan, hatta tapulu olan bu arazilerin orman tahdit sinirlari icine alinmis ve suresi icinde itiraz edilmediginden dolayi kesinlesmis oldugu anlasilmistir. Sensors for remote sensing have been greatly improved in recent years. These sensors are used not only for military purposes but also used in scientific researches. Especially, since increased demand on unmanned air vehicle (UAV) and its systems, several products have taken a place in a wide range of marketing industry to use public. Preferred techniques, methods and measurement tools play an important role in the aim, and the scope of research because of the reliability and the accuracy of gaining data. Thus, this study was evaluated and examined preflight block planning scenarios, considering employed low-cost UAV with in the structure from motion studies. The interactions of preferred camera, the flight height and flight speed in UAV Photogrammetry should be well known. The preflight block planning with the help of a few technical information can be estimated in numbers, that is emphasized about captured aerial photos by using UAV which reliable and preventing time-consuming for the scientific researches. Thus, this paper guiding to preflight planning for scientists who are going to employ semi-automatic systems such as low-cost UAV, or micro-UAVs in their researches. Keywords: Remote sensing, low-cost UAV, UAV photogrammetry, pre-flight planning Hareket tabanli yapisallastirma calismalarinda kullanilan mikro insansiz hava araclari icin ucus oncesi blok planlamanin degerlendirilmesi Ozet: Hava fotogrametrisi haritalama ve arazi olcum islerinde yaygin olarak kullanilmakta zaman ve maliyet acisindan fayda saglamaktadir. Son yillarda uzaktan algilayici sensorler ve sistemler oldukca gelistirilmistir. Bu sensor ve sistemler yalnizca askeri amacli degil ayni zamanda bir cok bilim alaninda yogun bir ilgiyle kullanilmaktadir. Ozellikle insansiz hava araci (IHA) ve buna bagli sistemlerin sivil cevrelerce kullanimindaki artisin sonucu olarak urun yelpazesi genis bir sektor haline gelmistir. Dogru teknik ile uygun arac-gereclerin belirlenmesi, planlanmasi ve elde edilen verilerin dogrulugunun test edilmesi arastirma kapsami ve icerigi bakimindan suphesiz hayati onem tasimaktadir. Bu calisma kapsaminda, hareket tabanli yapilastirma amaciyla kullanilan dusuk maliyetli IHA degerlendirilmesi ve blok alimi planlamasi uzerinde durulmustur. IHA Fotogrametrisi calismalarinda ucus hizi, ucus yuksekligi ile kullanilan goruntu algilayicilar arasindaki iliskinin bilinmesi gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle, IHA'larin kullanilmasinda bazi teknik bilgiler yardimiyla elde edilen blok goruntulerin bilimsel arastirmalarda uygunlugu zaman kaybinin yasanmamasi ve saglikli verilerin elde edilmesi amaciyla ucus oncesi planlamaya vurgu yapilarak matematiksel iliskiler yardimiyla ortaya konmustur. Research was conducted with two samplings in 2003 and 2013 on massive of Turkmen Mountains (Eskisehir, Kutahya) where located in West Central Anatolia Region in Turkey. Samplings were performed in 40 plots at pole (dbh=11.0-19.9 cm) and young tree (dbh=20.0-35.9 cm) development stages on different aspects, elevation, slope degree and slope positions. Data were evaluated with paired-samples t test. Soil organic carbon stocks show a significant (P 0.05) difference between 2003 and 2013. Depending on these differences, accumulated carbon stocks were 2.88 Mg C ha-1 yr-1 in soil and 0.02 Mg C ha-1 yr-1 in forest floor. Keywords: Scots pine, soil, forest floor, carbon sequestration Turkmen Dagi (Eskisehir, Kutahya) saricam ormanlarinda toprak ve olu ortude biriken yillik organik karbon miktarinin belirlenmesi Ozet: Bu calisma, saricam (Pinus sylvestris L. subsp. hamata (Steven) Fomin.) ormanlarinda toprak ve olu ortude biriken yillik organik karbon miktarinin belirlenmesi amaciyla yapilmistir. Arastirma, Bati Ic Anadolu Bolgesi’nde yer alan Turkmen Dagi’nda (Eskisehir, Kutahya) yurutulmustur. Orneklemeler, direklik (d1,3=11,0-19,9 cm) ve ince agaclik caginda (d1,3=20,0-35,9 cm) bulunan, farkli baki, yukselti, egim ve yamac konumu ozelliklerine sahip 40 ornek alanda gerceklestirilmistir. Veriler bagimli iki orneklem t testi ile degerlendirilmistir. Topraktaki organik karbon miktari 2003 ve 2013 yillari arasinda onemli bir farklilik gosterirken (P 0,05). Arastirma sonuclarina gore toprakta 2,88 Mg C ha-1 yil-1, olu ortude 0,02 Mg C ha-1 yil-1 karbonun depolandigi belirlenmistir. {"title":"Kebrako ve borlu bileşikler ile emprenye edilen doğu kayını (Fagus orientalis L.) odununun fiziksel ve mekanik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi","authors":"M. S. Bu calismada, Ulkemizde hammadde olarak bol bulunan borlu bilesikler (boraks ve borik asit) ile dogal emprenye maddelerinden olan kebrako kullanilmistir. Emprenye isleminde borlu bilesiklerin % 1, 3 ve 5’lik sulu cozeltileri kullanilmistir. Deney orneklerinin emprenyesi ASTM D 1413-76 esaslarina gore yapilmistir. Emprenyeli orneklerin tam kuru yogunluk, retensiyon miktari, egilme direnci, elastikiyet modulu, liflere paralel basinc direnci, liflere paralel yapisma direnci ve vida tutma direnci testleri yapilarak kontrol ornekleri ile kiyaslanmistir. Sonuc olarak, yapilan testler sonucunda retensiyon, tam kuru yogunluk, liflere paralel basinc ve vida tutma direncleri kontrol orneklerinden daha yuksek cikmistir. Egilme direnci, elastikiyet modulu ve liflere paralel yapisma direncleri ise kontrol orneklerinden daha dusuk ciktigi tespit edilmistir. Emprenye sonrasi deney orneklerinde borlu bilesiklerin konsantrasyonlari arttikca mekanik ozelliklerde dusus, fiziksel ozelliklerde ise artis gorulmektedir. Tolunay","doi":"10.17099/JFFIU.83792","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17099/JFFIU.83792","url":null,"abstract":"Coefficients that can be used to calculate biomass carbon storage of Turkish forests Abstract: The countries that are party to the Kyoto Protocol submit annual inventories of greenhouse gases to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) Secretariat. These reports comprise values of emission and removal of greenhouse gases from different sectors (energy, industrial processes and product use, agriculture, land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF), waste). The preparation of these reports are done by using the methodologies which is indicated in guides that is prepared by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Forestry related ones among these guides are; land use land use change and forestry (LULUCF) reported in 2003, and agriculture forestry and other land uses (AFOLU) reported in 2006. According to these guides, to convert the growing stock or increment to biomass, some coefficients are being used to calculate the amount of carbon that is sequestered by the forests. So that the amount of carbon stored in the biomass as stock or as annual basis can be calculated. Similarly, the amount of carbon removed from the forest by fire, production or illegal cuttings can also be estimated by the help of such coefficients. In this study, the BEF1 coefficient determined as 1.212 for the conifers, and 1.310 for the broad leaved species. Also the BEF2 coefficient was updated and determined as 1.326 for the conifers, and 1.262 for the broad leaved species. In this study, the BCEF coefficients that are used in the AFOLU guide were also calculated. Bu raporlar degisik sektorlerdeki (enerji, endustriyel surecler ve urun kullanimi, tarim, arazi kullanimi, arazi kullanim degisikligi ve ormancilik (AKAKDO), atiklar) sera gazlari salim ve baglanma miktarlarini icermektedirler. Raporlarin hazirlanmasinda Hukumetler Arasi Iklim Degisikligi Paneli (IPCC) tarafindan hazirlanan rehberlerde belirtilen yontemler kullanilmaktadir. Bu rehberlerden ormancilikla ilgili olanlari 2003 yilinda yayinlanan arazi kullanimi, arazi kullanim degisikligi ve ormancilik (AKAKDO) ile 2006 yilinda yayinlanan tarim, ormancilik ve diger arazi kullanimi (TODAK) olarak adlandirilan rehberlerdir.
