Either, undersampling is used or oversampling is used for this imbalance but, most of the undersampling techniques does not consider distribution of information among the classes while the oversampling technique leads overfitting of the trained model. So, to resolve this issue integration of undersampling as well as oversampling technique can be done. Majority class samples can be undersampled using a new approach, namely, MLP-based undersampling technique (MLPUS). Majority Weighted Minority Oversampling Technique (MWMOTE) can be used for generating the synthetic samples for minority class. The main objective is to handle the imbalance classification problem occurring in the medical diagnosis of rare diseases and combines the benefits of both undersampling and oversampling Experiments are performed on 7 real world data sets for the evaluation of proposed framework’s performance.","PeriodicalId":174733,"journal":{"name":"Communications on Applied Electronics","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126703520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we consider mobile biometrics based on touchscreen based keystrokes. Although the general topic of keystroke dynamics have been well studied, touchscreen based keystrokes remains challenging and relatively new. Few studies evaluate the effect of typing hand on mobile biometrics. We therefore set out to formalize the problem and explore a family of solutions based on keystrokes and typing hand, which can be left hand, right hand, or both hand. We address open questions such as: the effect of typing hand on touchscreen keystrokes, whether or not the knowledge of typing hand is important, and the effect of user-specific score normalisation on the performance. The disease in plants are season-based which depends on the presence of the pathogen, crops, environmental conditions and varieties grown. The monitoring of leaf area is important in studying physiological capabilities associated with plant. This work makes use of image processing technique for the detection of disease and the use of Support Vector Machine for the classification of plant leaf disease. Plant Leaf disease detection and classification is performed, depending on various extracted features from plant leaves utilizing different image processing and deep learning techniques. Detection of plant leaf disease involves steps like data collection, image processing techniques like contrast enhancement, RGB to HSI, K-means clustering, feature extraction, segmentation and SVM based classification. This approach is useful when image dimensions are large and a reduced feature representation is required to efficiently complete tasks such as image matching and retrieval. The proposed work mainly concentrates on four major diseases that affect the plant leaf namely Alternaria alternata, Anthracnose, Bacterial blight and Cercospora leaf spot. The dataset considered for each disease is 22, 23, 20 and 20 respectively. The results of a test case for each of the four diseases are quantified and the percentage of disease affected area was observed to be 15.0013% in Alternaria alternata, 15.0015% in Anthracnose, 15.0142% in Bacterial blight and 23.0225% in Cercospora leaf spot.","PeriodicalId":174733,"journal":{"name":"Communications on Applied Electronics","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127721499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous researchers indicated several factors that affect online brand shopping. Security, privacy, and trust are among these factors. This paper tries to propose a new model is called Merchant Segmentation Trust (MST) based on the huge amount of data comes from online shopping not on the last-mentioned factors using bigdata techniques. The propose model (MST) consist of four phases, the first phase is processing the data (cleaned, prepared, transformed) to extract the useful transactions attributes like order date, ship date, number of complaints, duration of complaints, net profit, etc. And aggregate all merchant with its transactions in form that can be used by the clustering algorithm. The second phase is to using the bigdata techniques as the huge amount of data comes from the rapid growth of online shopping by using K-means clustering algorithm. The third phase using traditional Recency, Frequency, Monetary (RFM) model to rank the resulting clusters to define the most trustable merchant, finally evaluate the clustering accuracy by using sum square error (SSE) and extract the most trustable merchant by the propose MST model compared against the traditional factors which result from the review or from the survey to ensure that merchant’s behavior can rate the trust among other merchants.","PeriodicalId":174733,"journal":{"name":"Communications on Applied Electronics","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116888982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Having multifaceted applications, the realization of the device has gained importance from the past few years. The important step in the realization of Fractance device is finding the rational approximation that best fits its behavior. In this paper, the rational approximation is calculated using the continued fraction expansion formula. The rational approximation thus obtained is synthesized as a passive circuit using MATLAB. The active circuit is obtained by making use of the Operational Amplifier. The passive active circuits are simulated using TINA-TI software. The working of the proposed circuits is studied. It has been observed that both theoretical and simulated results match each other. Existing outdoor techniques to locate a Mobile Station (MS) within a cellular network require optimization both in terms of accuracy and latency. In this paper, an enhanced Mobile Station Positioning (MSP) model for Wireless Sensor Networks was developed and its performance was appraised using accuracy and latency metrics in line with Received Signal Strength (RSS) procedure. This model used the strength of the signal received at four Base Stations (BS) positioned within the neighborhood of the MS to locate the MS. The mathematical model was formulated using circles equation and Taylor’s series expansion. The estimated position of the MS was calculated using Linear Least Square (LLS) solution iteratively. The result showed that the model located the MS within error distances of 199m for 67% and 339m for 95% of the time it was deployed. This result outperformed the RSS technique using three BS which located the MS within 256m at 67% deployment and 368m at 95% of the time the model was used. This gave approximately 15% improvement in accuracy. Simulation results also revealed that the latency experienced when the BSs were increased from three to four increased by 13.65% (0.024 seconds). It can be concluded that increasing the number of BSs from three to four gave a significant better accuracy in locating a MS within the BSs. Thus, undeniably, the vulnerability shoots from the increasing number of users whose intentions are malicious. Since, the cloud is managed by a third party, ensuring cloud security services are of utmost importance, and coupled with the fact that cloud data and services resident in data centers are ubiquitous. The enlarged user surfing on the cloud for numerous purposes, therefore, necessitate a vastly safe and secured data. Consequent upon the highlighted points and providing a secure environment, this paper proposes a hybrid encryption algorithm comprising symmetric and asymmetric cryptography schemes suitable as state-of-the-art safeguarding users’ privacy and security in the cloud. We propose a privacy model using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) as a first level data encryption scheme prior cloud application data storage, while Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is the subsequent encryption scheme with AES key to achieve our aim of data confidentiality as well as is security in the cloud.
