The antenna array elements are derived from the concept of the Marconi-Franklin collinear array. Each array element is being fed by two parallel transmission lines via an under ground plane of approximately 3/spl lambda//sub 26GHz//2 /spl times/ 3/spl lambda//sub 26GHz//2 mm/sup 2/. Following extensive simulations the radiation pattern of each array element was extracted concluding in an almost 8dB directivity with a 75% efficiency.","PeriodicalId":173343,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. This single-feed antenna incorporates two shorting pins to be small, compact, highly efficient, and low profile. By carefully choosing the type, substrate thickness, and position of antenna relative to other metallic objects on the printed circuit board, a wider impedance band (470 MHz) is achieved with minimum occupied volume, which fully covers the frequency range for the GPS and PCS bands. The proposed antenna has maximum gain of 3 dBi and average gain of -2 dBi.","PeriodicalId":173343,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. Digest. A component by component design approach is presented and explained, and the first complete feed prototype is shown. The measurements are compared with simulations and very good agreement is obtained. All feed requirements are satisfied by the realized feed without adjustment. Moreover, this feed could be entirely moulded, thereby achieving a low cost feed solution in the Ka/Ka band.","PeriodicalId":173343,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. This paper presents a fast hybrid physical optics - time domain integral equation (TDIE) scheme for analyzing transient scattering from electrically large, perfect electrically conducting (PEC) objects. The scheme requires the user to delineate regions on the scatterer where currents are computed either using a TDIE scheme or by PO. In non-PO regions, currents are updated by solving a time domain combined field integral equation by marching on in time. Everywhere else, PO updates are effected by considering not only incident fields, but also fields radiated by all currents on the scatterer. The computation of the latter fields is accelerated by the plane wave time domain (PWTD) scheme. Multiple PO bounces are inherently captured by this formulation. Several examples that demonstrate the efficacy of this solver will be presented.","PeriodicalId":173343,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. Digest. They are obtained by introducing a suitable new set of combined spectra that exhibit all the desired properties. As a consequence, the final expressions of the spectra satisfy all the Malyuzhinets method conditions, the edge conditions, explicitly satisfy reciprocity and nicely reduce to the original Malyuzhinets solution for normal incidence. The importance of the achieved symmetry with respect to incidence and observation aspects, is further emphasized in extending the solutions to dipole source illuminations.","PeriodicalId":173343,"journal":{"name":"IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium.
