In order to generate periodically ordered liquid-crystal (LC) domains with dimensions of 5–10 µm, which form an anisotropic LC grating, the layer-by-layer patterned photoalignment technology of the water-soluble azo dye AbA-2522 was used. The possibilities of spatial-polarization control of light beams by means of developed one- and two-dimensional diffractive LC structures have been studied experimentally. Our results are promising from the point of view of development and creation of LC-devices for solving current problems of polarization photonics.","PeriodicalId":17264,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Belarusian State University. In the small-signal approximation, taking into account the space charge of the beam for an asymmetric resonator, the expression for the energy loss by the electron passing through the system was obtained. Within the chosen approximation, it was shown that a resonator with equal length sections provides greater efficiency in the transfer of energy from a charged particles beam to an electromagnetic field in comparison with an asymmetric system configuration. It was found that the interaction of an electron with a space charge in a split resonator leads to the increase of the radiation beam instability with the increase of its density. The effect of current modulation of the electron beam passing through the system was studied. It was shown that the resonator size increase leads to the increase of the amplitude of the beam current variable component at the system output. The increase of the current density of the beam entering the interaction region also leads to the increase of the modulation efficiency. The possibility of increasing the modulated current amplitude in a system with unequal sections was considered.","PeriodicalId":17264,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Belarusian State University. Holovko","doi":"10.33581/2520-2243-2019-2-73-83","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.33581/2520-2243-2019-2-73-83","url":null,"abstract":"A solid state electrolyte is considered as a system consisting of cations moving through the volume of a solid body and anions whose mobility can be neglected due to their large size compared to the size of the cations. Accordingly, in the homogeneous case local charge compensation takes place. Under the action of an external electric field, cations create in the near electrode area inhomogeneous redistribution of mobile charges and electric field. The model is used for the statisticalmechanical description of hightemperature ionic conductors and current sources. To obtain the free energy functional of the mobile charge subsystem depending on the distribution of their density, the cluster expansion scheme for the renormalized Mayer functions is used. The Hamiltonian of a system consisting of electric charges moving in the field of singleparticle cell potentials of average forces is used as the basis one. The binary function of the host system is expressed in terms of the screened potentials and the potentials of the average forces based on the results of the method of collective variables. The internal energy of the system is calculated taking into account the short and longrange effects. The Gibbs – Duhem relation was used for calculating the free energy functional of the system. The distribution of the number density of moving particles and the electric potential in the near electrode region were found from the condition of extremality of the free energy. The potentials of average forces are obtained as a result of solving a system of integral equations in the lattice approximation, with accounting of the short and longrange effects. The transition from the correlative function to the correlation function allowed us to identify the correlated and uncorrelated parts of the electric potential. The linear contributions of the deviation of the charge concentrations from a uniform distribution to the chemical potential are considered. The calculations take into account the contribution of the correlation between the particles in the first three coordination spheres that leads to attraction of the first, repulsion of the second and third neighbors. The description is carried out using a linear differential equation of the fourthorder with complex values of the roots of the characteristic equation. The paper analyzes the results of the analytical solution.","PeriodicalId":17264,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Belarusian State University. The phases form three structures with the volume parts determined by the random secant method as 0.54; 0.41, and 0.05, respectively. The structures are homogeneously distributed within the alloy volume. Using Х-ray spectroscopic microanalysis, the authors determined concentrations of the components in different regions of the alloy and demonstrated that light regions are associated with e-phase BiIn; grey regions represent BiIn and Bi3 In5 phases. Distribution of the maximal bisecants lmax in size groups for light regions has two maxima. The average bisecant lengths of random secants for the structures are no greater than 15 mm.
