With the increase in the number of students nowadays, the difficulties in attendance record have increased tremendously. Also, as attendance is pass round to some students, the student added the name of a friend who is not physically present. The system is time-consuming and inadequate. To address this inadequacy, this paper proposes an Ontology-Based Smart Attendance (OBSA). The paper presents OBSA with a mobile application as an agent that automatically mark a student's attendance when the student gets to the faculty with their login detail. OBSA also synchronizes the students' public information with the faculty agent, thereby suggesting events to students in the faculty.
