This study aimed to evaluate the productivity of bali cattle and their crosses with limousin and simental through artificial insemination. This study was carried out on December 2016 to February 2017 in the Arso and Skanto Districts, Keerom Regency, Papua. Ninty four heads of used in this study, comprising 57 bali catsle, 18 bali x limousin and 19 bali x simmental crosses through artificial insemination programe. Parameters vanahle included reproduction characteristics, body weight and linear body measurement. The observation were conducted of calf ( 25 month). The results indicated that the female bali cattle and their crosses with limousin and simmental raised on forage based feed showed different reproduction and production perfomances. The cross bred cow (bali x limousin and bali x simmental) tended to have longer age at first mating, higher service per conception and lower calving rate. Based on forage feed, the cross bred cow had significantly (P<0.05) higher body weight and body frame size, particularly body weght, hip height, body lengt and heart girh at adult age. In general, the crosses between bali and limousin or simmental for cow-calf production could be developed on a forage based feed at Keerom District, Papua.","PeriodicalId":172095,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122369918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Improving muscle growth is very important to increase the economic value of Indonesian indigenous chicken especially in sentul chicken. This study was aimed to identify the polymorphism of the Myostatin gene in sentul indonesian indigenous chicken with maternal immunization against Myostatin on post hatch and to evaluate its effect on carcass traits. In this study, 48 Sentul hens for up to 6 months have been divided into three groups with 16 birds in each group: CON, KLH, and KLH-MSTN. The CON group has not received immunization, the KLH group has been immunized with 1 mg of KLH, and KLH-MSTN has been immunized with 1 mg of KLH-MSTN conjugate intramuscularly. The effects of each group have been observed on F1 carcass production.The gene polymorphism was identified using PCR-RFLP and the effect of genotype on carcass chacteristics were analyzed using SAS General Linear Model Procedure. The product of amplification was 247 bp. This locus was polymorphic in sentul chicken with two alleles (G and T) and three genotypes (GG, GT, TT). Association analysis were not significant in carcass characteristics. The result of this study showed that interaction of each group with genotype not significant on carcass weight of F1 chicken sentul each age group. F1 sentul chicken 12 week-old significant association of genotype was observed only in thighs weight while 20 week-old was significant in live weight, carcass weight, breast weight, wings weight, thighs weight, drum sticks weight, breast muscle weight, thighs muscle weight and drum sticks muscle weight. These results suggest that no effect genotype on maternal immunization against myostatin to stimulate carcass characteristic in sentul chickens.","PeriodicalId":172095,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129143088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sample were taken from milk and blood 10 healthy dairy and 10 dairy containing subclinical mastitis used for CMT and RNA isolation used for gene expression analysis. The result showed that expression in healthy dairy CD14 gene had a higher expression (P<0.05). In contrast the IL10 gene had a high expression in infected dairy with subclinical mastitis (P<0.05). CD14 was an early signal receptor that activates a complex nonspecific immune response to induce various immune characteristics such as the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, the production of antimicrobial peptides and so on destroy pathogens. The high expression of IL10 in infected dairy with subclinical mastitis suggested that immune responses were not functioning properly considered due to inhibiton of cytokine transduction signals by excessive production of IL10.","PeriodicalId":172095,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan","volume":"303 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131814872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
