In the Spanish validation, its 13 items are distributed into three factors: Emotional avoidance, Sexual curiosity, and Excitement seeking and sexual pleasure. Given the differences in the use and effects of pornography, it is relevant to ensure that the PCI measures pornography consumption equivalently across different groups. The general objective of this study is to further examine its psychometric properties in the Spanish population by analyzing its measurement invariance across gender, age, relationship status, and sexual orientation. The sample consisted of 1,366 cisgender Spanish adults. Results indicated that the three-factor model showed an overall acceptable, although not optimal, fit across subgroups. Also, the results showed acceptable strict measurement invariance of the PCI across groups and revealed differences in its dimensions by gender, age, and sexual orientation. Furthermore, in general, its dimensions were positively associated with propensity for sexual excitation, solitary sexual desire, dimensions of the subjective orgasm experience, and frequency of pornography consumption. Within sexology, most studies are based in experimental methods. These are good for hypothesis testing but not as useful for discovery-oriented research. Our phenomenological approach is unusual in that we use a large team of researchers with diverse identities and backgrounds to uncover, discover and attempt to bracket (i.e., suspend) pre-conceived notions collaboratively. Six or more team members, trained in this methodology, review transcripts individually and subsequently, together, until themes emerge. After all but two transcripts have been reviewed, two additional, senior team members, sequestered from the process thus far, then provide fresh perspectives and \"external\" review of the data analysis, leading to further refinement. We have instituted additional safeguards to build consensus while limiting social influence. This labor-intensive approach gives us confidence that we capture key informants' experiences fully, faithfully and accurately, while remaining as close as possible to \"the thing itself\". Our approach maintains the integrity and epistemology consistent with viewing key informants as the subjects of (rather than objects of) their own experience. However, its relevance in sexual interactions has only recently gained attention. We developed a questionnaire assessing perceived synchrony during sex. A total of 1136 participants (Mage = 24.81 years, SD = 7.84; 65% women) completed the Perceived Synchrony during Sex Questionnaire (PSSQ). PSSQ scores were correlated with measures of inclusion of other in the self, differentiation of self, low sexual empathy, sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, sexual distress, sexual function, and perceived partner responsiveness. Results indicated a four-factor structure representing perceived interpersonal synchrony during sex, encompassing behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and physiological response dimensions. The final 20-item version of the PSSQ demonstrated excellent internal consistency (Cronbach's α = .89). PSSQ correlated with sexual and relationship satisfaction, sexual functioning, perceived partner responsiveness, and differentiation of self. Measurement invariance across men and women was established. This study provides the first tool to assess perceived synchrony during sexual experiences. Future research could refine the questionnaire and examine its associations with relational outcomes. While recent quantitative studies have established high rates of psychiatric comorbidity among detransitioners, the explanation for these comorbidities remains unknown. A two-step qualitative clinical audit and qualitative content analysis were conducted on public video transcripts from 37 detransitioners (25 females, 12 males). Five overlapping retrospective pathways to transition emerged: (1) Neurocognitive conditions; (2) Prior sexual abuse and dissociation; (3) Social contagion and digital amplification; (4) Ego-dystonic sexuality; and (5) Fear of emerging sexuality and extreme sexual stereotyping. The new identity was frequently accompanied by initial validation euphoria and maintained by sunk-cost psychology. Upon detransitioning, despite navigating complex post-transition medical sequelae and grief, some participants reported profound relief. Within this cohort, transition appeared to be at least partially an attempt to decrease preexisting psychosocial distress. These findings support the critical necessity of comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to establish a thorough developmental timeline of adolescent distress and comorbid conditions-prior to medical interventions. There is scarce research on how likely such an outcome is amongst individuals motivated to achieve it as well as on pathways to and predictors of relationship preservation, defined as remaining in the original relationship. This study administered the Pathways Through Infidelity Survey to individuals who have had an affair (\"commitment-breaking partners\") and whose partner has had an affair (\"betrayal-experiencing partners\") recruited through the social media profiles of three mental health professionals enabling post-infidelity recovery and reconciliation. Analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and Classification and Regression Trees (CART). Analyzable responses were obtained from 1151 commitment-breaking and 2278 betrayal-experiencing partners. The strongest predictors of relationship preservation were love for commitment-breaking partners and formalization of the relationship (marriage, engagement, long-term relationship) for betrayal-experiencing partners. Relationship preservation after infidelity was found to follow neither a linear, nor uniform, nor a necessarily complex trajectory. A variety of pathways to it were identified, some brief and direct and others long and convoluted. This article evaluates the ethical basis of irreversible gender-affirming surgeries in young adults aged 19 and above, considering mental health outcomes, mortality, complication profiles, and neurodevelopmental maturation. The discussion is framed around three normative axes: evidential sufficiency, the irreversible nature of the intervention, and developmental continuity of decision-making capacity. Current literature indicates that some individuals may experience short-term subjective well-being or relief of dysphoria, yet high-certainty evidence for long-term mental health normalization or reduction of psychiatric risk is lacking. This asymmetry necessitates caution in the timing of irreversible gender-affirming surgery (GAS) procedures. Considering couples' sexual and relational wellbeing are closely intertwined, it is surprising that no study has examined the temporal associations between PIPV and CCB, and couples' sexual satisfaction. This study examined the dyadic associations between PIPV, CCB and sexual satisfaction over time, and explored gender differences. A community sample of 406 mixed-sex couples completed measures of PIPV, CCB and sexual satisfaction at two time-points, one year apart. An autoregressive cross-lagged model following the actor-partner interdependence framework was tested. Results revealed small actor effects, indicating that higher PIPV perpetration in women and higher CCB perpetration in men at T1 were related to their own higher sexual satisfaction at T2. A medium partner effect showed that men's PIPV perpetration at T1 was linked to lower sexual satisfaction in their partner at T2. Large autoregressive effects indicated that PIPV, CCB, and sexual satisfaction were stable over time. Small partner effects revealed that higher sexual satisfaction in participants at T1 was related to higher sexual satisfaction in their partner at T2. Through qualitative interviews, we examined their definitions of consent, views on verbal consent-seeking, and decision-making processes. Three findings emerged. First, participants consistently cited a conventional definition-free, ongoing, and explicit-but struggled to apply it in practice. Second, most found verbal requests for consent awkward, unnecessary, or disruptive. Third, all described using a process we term multi-factor authentication: an intuitive system in which consent is inferred from mutuality (reciprocated, escalating cues) combined with contextual indicators such as trust, timing, location, and occasional verbal check-ins. Alcohol use and clothing were rarely considered relevant. Instead, men emphasized emotional intimacy-trust, empathy, connection, and vulnerability-as central to consensual sex. These findings suggest that while consent education has successfully conveyed the principle that sex must be consensual, it offers few practical strategies for implementation.
