However, macroscale fabric and tape made from CNTs have much reduced properties compared to individual CNTs. CNT in macroscale forms are also expensive to produce as the yield of the CNT synthesis process is low and assembling individual CNT into large size fabrics is complicated and expensive. Thus the two main barriers to putting CNT fabric into applications are to improve the material properties and to scale-up manufacturing yield to reduce cost. These aspects are discussed in this paper. Examples of CNT fabric and tape are shown in Figure 1. The tape can be twisted to form yarn which is stronger than tape.","PeriodicalId":17152,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85065870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When compared with conventional wet dyeing processes, supercritical carbon dioxide dyeing processes have many essential advantages, as carbon dioxide is a benign, nonflammable, non-toxic and inexpensive solvent, and its supercritical state is easy to get (the critical point of carbon dioxide is at 31.1 ̊C and 7.38MPa); in addition, after the dyeing process it can be readily recycled.3 Moreover, the energy and timeconsuming dry procedure is also no longer needed as the dyeing process is water free.4 Therefore, as an innovational and clean dyeing technology, supercritical carbon dioxide dyeing processes are more environmentally friendly and economically attractive for the textile industry.5 To date, the coloration of synthetic fibers, such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET),6 polylactides,7 polyamide 6 and 66,8 with disperse dyes in supercritical carbon dioxide has achieved commercial requirements. But it is still difficult for the dyeing of cotton fabrics in supercritical carbon dioxide. The main reason lies in the facts that disperse dyes have low affinity to cotton fibers.","PeriodicalId":17152,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81784302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The filtration performance of the nonwoven fabric was influenced by thickness of the fabric, areal density and pore size. A majority of nonwoven fabrics are spun bonded and in general, the mechanically bonded nonwoven fabrics are thicker, with larger pore opening than thermal bonded nonwoven fabric. Needle punched nonwoven fabrics are used to filter coarse particles such as separations of coal, dust and chemical particles. Other nonwoven based on melt blown, spun bond and needle felting techniques are used in disposable cartridge, membrane and for food filtration. The mean flow pore diameter was achieved as for non-thermal bonded fabrics as 1-500 microns and it was reduced as 10-15 micron by thermal calendaring. Thermal bonded staple fibre nonwoven fabrics were developed for depth filtration and its performance was better than meltblown nonwoven fabric.6","PeriodicalId":17152,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology","volume":"32 4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77409285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But its main disadvantage is the harsh feel due to the wrapper fibres of the sheath1. In order to increase the comfort-related properties of friction-spun yarn, Merati and Okamura used hollow yarn. They succeeded in getting the enhanced comfort with hollow yarn but they were unable to minimize the harsh feel4 in fabric in this work harsh feel is reduced and comfort properties are enhanced.","PeriodicalId":17152,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80616654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Natural colorants are extremely safe because of its added advantages. The present study describes extraction, characterization and application of a yellow pigment from Aspergillus species, strains AN01 and explores its wider applications. The chosen strain isolated from the soil displayed an extracellular yellow pigment production when grown at specific nutrient and growth conditions. The yellow color pigmented solution free from spores extracted, concentrated, purified and subjected to characterization using UV, FT-IR, DSC, TGA, GC-MS and NMR analyses. From the results the yellow pigment is identified as Asperyellone. Coloring efficacy of the yellow pigment on silk, cotton, synthetic and wool fabrics demonstrates appreciable color uptake by the materials. Increased dye uptake is observed in the protein fibers and polypropylene. The high K/S values corroborate substantiates the preference of Asperyellone pigment to proteins than other natural or synthetic fabrics. The fastness of the pigment on the various substrates is found to be good except to the light fastness. Additional molecular docking studies with silk protein and Asperyellone display the interaction and appreciable binding energy. The above results authenticate the suitability of yellow pigment to enhance the organoleptic property of silk, which ultimately will improve the export value at appreciable level.","PeriodicalId":17152,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76063202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A 1.0 wt% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) dispersant was added to avoid the aggregating phenomenon and to make the dry type of cooling and thermal insulation powders dry by the spray drying method. Then, the functional polyester/cooling and TI master batch with 12% powder content were fabricated by a twin screw machine. The 120d/72f cooling polyester partial oriented yarn (POY) with cooling powder was made by the melting spinning machine and 75d/72f cooling polyester draw textured yarn (DTY) was spun by a Barmag type false twist machine. The 100d/144f polyester DTY yarn with thermal insulation function was made from the above same methods. Furthermore, the circular interknitted fabrics was fabricated by circular knitting machine with 28 gauges and the finished knitted fabric was produced by scouring, bleaching, dyeing and tentering processes. The 100d/144f DTY TI yarn with 58 wt% and 62 wt% were used as technical face and 75d/72f DTY (WINDRY) with 42 wt% and 38 wt% as technical back of knitted fabric to form an interlock knitted structure. Finally, the cooling and thermal insulation functions of the finished knitted fabrics and their end applications were investigated.","PeriodicalId":17152,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Textile Engineering & Fashion Technology","volume":"96 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73838950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
