Estimating the interaction from large digital blocks and its effect on on-chip performance degradation is extremely important in mixed-signal IC design and is a major challenge in system-on-chip (SOC) design. In this paper, we address efficient methods and models to simulate substrate noise coupling at high level design with the real-time capability. An efficient, fast and real time macromodel is presented. Extracted macromodel captures a variety of noise interference mechanisms, including power/ground bounce, IR drop, switching coupling noise and interconnect noise sources. Techniques to directly or indirectly compute the values of the elements in the cell macromodel are described. This approach makes it possible to predict substrate noise generation of large digital blocks in a very efficient and fast way and makes it compatible with the design flow of mixed-signal circuits. For verification, the macromodel accuracy is demonstrated in some example circuits.","PeriodicalId":171255,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Multitopic Conference","volume":"85 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114023551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During software testing and retesting, development organizations always desire to validate the software from different views. But exhaustive testing requires program execution with all possible combinations of values for program variables, which is impractical due to resource constraints. For many applications, it is possible to generate test cases automatically. But the core problem is the selection of effective test cases necessary to validate the program during the maintenance phase. This target can only be achieved by eliminating all the redundant test cases from the generated pool of test suites. In this paper, we propose a novel test case reduction technique called TestFilter that uses the statement-coverage criterion for reduction of test cases. To demonstrate the applicability of this approach, we conduct an experimental study. The results show that our technique is beneficial in identifying non-redundant test cases at a little cost. Ultimately it is beneficial to optimize time & cost spent on testing and it is also helpful during regression testing.","PeriodicalId":171255,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Multitopic Conference","volume":"73 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131588949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The important aspects of any query processing architecture should be query reformulation. As there are many equivalent interpretations of the same high-level query, the focus of query reformulation is to enhance or change the original query, so that it minimizes the number of results and maximizes the accuracy of the results being retrieved. In this paper, the authors are trying to enhance the original query by using users' context, which is being generated from sensor data, domain ontology and user profiles. We have shown that how one can improve the performance of image retrieval systems by assuming two attributes. Firstly, images that user needs through query image are similar to a group of images with same conception. Secondly, there exists non-linear relationship between feature vectors of different images and can be exploited very efficiently with the use of support vector machines. At first level, for low level feature extraction we have used dual tree complex wavelet transform because recently it is proven that CWT can be used for efficient color feature extraction just like texture feature extraction. At second level to extract semantic concepts, we grouped images of typical classes with the use of one against all support vector machines. We have also shown how one can use a correlation based distance metric for comparison of SVM distance vectors. The experimental results show that the proposed approach has superior retrieval performance over the existing linear feature combining techniques.","PeriodicalId":171255,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Multitopic Conference","volume":"243 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131899126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By using this recursive nature of geometrical objects we can generate them. Similarly, we can store these geometrical objects in encoded form.
