The reason for such technique is to extract the communications in terms of intensions from the disabled community. Such systems play a very crucial role during emergency as they perform the communication during normal course of life. To interpret and communicate most distinctive requirements to the caregivers or medical support agents, a well defined and distinguishable gesture paradigm and its recognition is necessary. Conversion of communicative gestures is to be made precise and easy. The proposed method of feature construction made a simple modeling of the signals with the consideration of time zones separated during the gesture. The identification of most active channels during the time of gesture and use them reduces complexity in processing and hardware cost. Repeated trials were used to test this modeling for different activity gestures and the results were found identical and forming a pattern. The signals acquired from a set of four different gestures with six trials for each.","PeriodicalId":171237,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourth HCT Information Technology Trends (ITT)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114677985","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different proposed routing protocols work in WBAN for performance enhancement, mainly focusing on network lifetime, throughput, efficiency, energy and delay. This paper presents DSAB routing protocol which is a reliable, and energy efficient routing protocol which enhances the network life-time through dual sink approach. These existing protocol and routing protocol names are compared as ATTEMPT and LAEEBA. A mathematical formulation is used for the forwarder node selection which can be calculated by considering the distance of node from sink, transmission power and residual energy. Performance of DSAB is 55% and 22% more productive than ATTEMPT and LAEEBA in throughput. Simulation results bring forward that DSAB stability period is greater than ATTEMPT and LAEEBA with least delay. The parameter of energy in DSAB is better but not better than ATTEMPT and LAEEBA, because of RSSI utility which processes and utilizes more energy.","PeriodicalId":171237,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourth HCT Information Technology Trends (ITT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124913729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As people started to move from rural areas into cities, cities started to have congestion, traffic, crimes, increased carbon emissions, illiteracy, and unemployment. Cities have to manage these complexities by finding smart solutions. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the strategy to transform Dubai into a smart city and to be ready for expo 2020 that could result in road traffic and increased tourism. Other reasons for Dubai to become a smart city are that are the business and real estate boom, because foreign investments are pouring in and many populations are coming to Dubai, so it needs to have sustainability. Dubai is in a state where it requires having sustainable energies and buildings to accept many populations. A framework is a set of principles and guidelines to prepare the right components and people, and taking the right steps and stages to achieve the outcomes. A roadmap is a vision done by stakeholders, of the final outcome of the desired project, and it takes from 10 to 50 years. A roadmap is a plan or strategy intended to achieve a particular goal. This research has studied various smart city initiatives in the world and the numerous frameworks on smart cities. An adaptive framework specifically for Dubai City has been proposed and a roadmap for its implementation has been suggested. This outcome can be used by the Government of Dubai to plan their smart city strategies.","PeriodicalId":171237,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourth HCT Information Technology Trends (ITT)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125497348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The resultant model is then used to predict one or more output variables based on different values for input variables. Optimization is a very important technique for different fields of research. In most cases, researchers in the field of smart learning have to deal with large amounts of data, which usually have to be analyzed and modeled to assess the learning process and to come up with new models for prediction. In this paper, we propose an approach that will be used for modeling educational data based on a curve fitting method. In order to optimize the parameters for the model, the Average Uniform Algorithm (AUA) is used. The idea behind the algorithm is based on a mathematical approach unlike other meta-heuristic algorithms that are inspired by nature such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Simulated Annealing (SA), and Ant Colony (ACO). The algorithm is principally constructed using uniform distribution to generate random solutions, and then averaging the best solutions to obtain the optimal value for the objective function.","PeriodicalId":171237,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourth HCT Information Technology Trends (ITT)","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122006180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel approach using wearable devices come to address this issue in recent days. The accuracy of the system's output depends on the precise representation of two important things namely correct gestures and burst timings. The proposed burst detection algorithm calculates the intensity and latency of the burst occurrence in the signal generated during the gesture process. The finding of bursts helps to interpret the gesture signal and plays a vital role in identification and patterning the communication and response. This burst helps in preprocessing of the signals and selecting the important feature of the signals for further classification and interpretations. The more active channels that produce effective bursts are identified by the proposed algorithm and helps in hardware optimization.","PeriodicalId":171237,"journal":{"name":"2017 Fourth HCT Information Technology Trends (ITT)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127689552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
