A preliminary analysis of the influences of heating rate on kinetics and on the formation of bio-syngas was also performed. The thermogravimetric results of rice husk indicate that its decomposition occurs in four stages, and the main weight loss occurs within 210–400°C. The emission intensities of CO, CO2, CH4, and H2 at 20°C/min are much higher than those of 5°C/min, indicating that pyrolysis at higher heating rates is more suitable for bio-syngas production. Chemical and phase analysis exhibits the presence of cristobalite, quartz, and tridymite as the major crystal phases of SiO2, which reveals the potential of rice husk ash as an alternative for silicon compounds. The porous structure analysis indicates that carbon residues developed from rice husk ash are good candidates for activated carbon production. Through analyzing its thermal properties, the internal reactions occurring within ash particles are predicted accurately, which is helpful to better understand the transformation and fusion mechanism of inorganic components in the complex-composition ash.","PeriodicalId":17101,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Residuals Science & Technology","volume":"51 1","pages":"35-46"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78910763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to explore the distribution of land use structure, we can apply the Lorenz curves and Gini coefficient to accomplish. In this study, we selected the land use data in 14 prefecture cities in Liaoning Province of China from 2010 to 2015. Based on the Lorenz curve and the Gini coefficient, we analyzed quantitatively the land use structure in 14 prefecture cities of Liaoning province. Results indicated that cultivated land, forest land and construction land were evenly distributed, while garden land, grass land and unused land were distributed in a more concentrated state in space scale. On time scale, the Gini coefficient of forest land, garden land and grass land were increasing, and the degree of distribution dispersion has increased, while the Gini coefficient of cultivated land, construction land and unused land has reduced, whose distribution tended to equilibrium. Some suggestion for rational land use and structural adjustment has been provided by analyzing the spatial and temporal distribution of land use in Liaoning Province.","PeriodicalId":17101,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Residuals Science & Technology","volume":"32 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75806756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We applied the column leaching method under simulated AR leaching to study the leaching characteristics of Cu, Pb and Zn in waste PCBs. Cu and Pb were easily leached by AR (pH 2 and 3) but not by distilled water (pH 5.6; CK treatment). By contrast, Zn could be leached readily even in CK treatment. AR with low pH exerted good leaching effects on Cu, Pb, and Zn. The heavy metal contents in the leachates were in the order of Cu > Pb > Zn. The maximum leaching concentrations of Cu, Pb, and Zn were 34.7, 4.06, and 1.15 mg/L, respectively, which are higher than drinking water standard set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Therefore, waste PCBs can be considered a new source of heavy metal and pose potential environmental risks.","PeriodicalId":17101,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Residuals Science & Technology","volume":"67 1","pages":"135-142"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81471439","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, understanding of design and operational parameters for optimizing the performance of electro-cyclones are still limited due to the complexity of the removal mechanism and the lack of prediction models. In this study, the particle collection efficiency of electro-cyclones has been analyzed using simple theoretical models, and the system configuration of multiple electro-cyclones has been evaluated especially for the removal of fine particles less than 5 µm which are limited in conventional cyclones. Based on the Stairmand high efficiency cyclone design, the effects of external electric field on a single and multiple units were investigated. Parallel operations of multiple electro-cyclones, consisting of 10 units, potentially provided the cut off diameter less than 0.3 µm by lowering flow rate and operation load for each unit. For a multiple configuration, the collection efficiency was improved as the number of units increased, while the flow speed variation due to the parallel operation was insignificant.","PeriodicalId":17101,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Residuals Science & Technology","volume":"12 1","pages":"325-331"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79712606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Electroplating method has many advantages of low cost and easy operation etc. CuInS2 precursor samples were prepared by electroplating with raw materials of CuCl2·2H2O, InCl3 and Na2S2O3·5H2O etc., and the precursor films were heat treated in sulfur atmosphere. The phases of product samples were determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and the elemental content of the film was analyzed by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). Results show that uniform and dense CuInS2 precursor films can be obtained under conditions of CuCl2·2H2O, InCl3, Na2S2O3·5H2O and C6H5Na3O7·2H2O with contents of 10 mmol/L, 10 mmol/L, 100 mmol/L and 1.25 mmol/L respectively, pH 3.5 and deposition potential –1.0 V. CuInS2 film with good crystallinity was obtained by sulfurizing precursor film at 350 oC for 6h, has different XRD peaks for (112), (024/220) and (116/132) crystal planes respectively. Many lumps with uniform size are found, and there are little holes distributing on the surface after heat treatment. The precursor and sulfurized films were all found containing copper, indium and sulfur elements. It is found that the sulfur content in the films was obviously increased after sulfurizing.","PeriodicalId":17101,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Residuals Science & Technology","volume":"2 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75165173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
