This should be realized at high efficiency and with low torque ripple over a wide range of operating conditions. In this context, the firing angles, turn-on ($theta_{on}$), turn-off ($theta_{off)}$, and accordingly dwell ($theta_{dwe}$n) angles, should be selected to maximize the performance of the motor at various operating conditions. Practically, optimization is used to determine the firing angles that are suitable for each operating point on the torque speed map. In this regard, many conflicting objectives should be considered when choosing the optimal conduction angles. Among these objectives, reducing the torque ripple and maximizing the torque per ampere are the most important. In this work, the effects of turn-on and turn-off angles on these objectives will be investigated. For this purpose, simulation two SRM converters are considered.","PeriodicalId":169048,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132617640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among these various methods, Resonant Inductive Wireless Power Transfer RI-WPT has been extensively used to charge the batteries for consumer electronics such as smartwatches, mobile phones, and laptops. However, at high resonant frequency, this technology is vulnerable to the frequency variation in transmitter and receiver circuits, which results from components tolerance and other related factors. Frequency mismatch severely drops the conversion power efficiency and deteriorates the effectiveness of RI-WPT. To solve this issue, this paper proposes and verifies a novel active and reactive power control circuit at the receiver side of a wireless power transfer system. A 10W 127.7 kHz RIWPT receiver system is designed and verified against variations in compensation network elements, where 1. 3W is recovered after frequency re-tuning thanks to the proposed circuit.","PeriodicalId":169048,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128693515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The evaluation of each configuration efficiency is a main concern due to the rising dependence on PV power plants. Besides, the fact that uneven solar irradiance levels and modules mismatch play an important role in defining the system efficiency. This paper compared the efficiency of the DC/AC conversion configurations: the string inverter, the DC optimizer and the microinverter. The efficiency was estimated based on the maximum power point tracking efficiency, power electronics stage efficiency and cable losses, where all of them were combined to estimate the configuration efficiency. SIMULINK was used to model each configuration and estimate the efficiency. The model main input was the solar irradiance of different shading patterns. The results showed that the microinverter has the highest efficiency at all shading patterns. However, at some patterns of irradiance levels, it competed with the DC optimizer configuration where they have close efficiencies. The string inverter results showed it significantly depends on the irradiance pattern where its efficiency can vary between 15%-95%.","PeriodicalId":169048,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127799472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, a single machine infinite bus (SMIB) power system based nonlinear model has been studied with and without optimized power system stabilized (PSS). A new metaheuristic algorithm inspired from physics lows named Archimedes optimization algorithm (AOA) has been used to tune parameters of PSS based proportional integral derivative (PSS-PID) controller. Two types of disturbances have been simulated to measure the efficiency of the proposed techniques, electrical three phase short circuit fault at generator terminals and a mechanical disturbance on the rotor shaft. The SMIB based optimized PSSPID provides a stable system with lower oscillation and fast response. AOA greatly improve the characteristics of the system under study compared to manually tune optimized PSS-PID controller.","PeriodicalId":169048,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE)","volume":"04 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129866738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, experts suggested reducing electricity production’s reliance on fossil fuels and promoting renewable and clean energy sources. As oil-based nanofluid makes nanofluid more stable and improves its thermophysical properties at higher temperature and pressure, in this study, kerosene oilbased CNT nanofluid is used as a coolant to compare the effects of different flow regimes (creeping flow, laminar flow, and transitional flow) on the performance of a flat plate PV/T collector in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Finite element-based software COMSOL Multiphysics of version 5.4 is used for varying solar irradiation $(200mathrm{W}/mathrm{m}^{2}leq mathrm{G}leq 1000mathrm{W}/mathrm{m}^{2})$. The wind velocity and ambient temperature are fixed at 2. $45mathrm{m}/mathrm{s}$ and $29^{0}mathrm{C}$ respectively, considering the Bangladeshi condition. Empirical outputs are collected from postprocessing and presented in 3D surface plot, table, and line diagram using Microsoft excel. The results suggested that transitional flow is the most efficient, followed by laminar flow. However, compared to creeping flow, the difference between laminar and transitional flow is less significant. This project will improve the performance of PVTs in Dhaka, Bangladesh, by discovering the most effective alternate electrical and thermal energy sources.","PeriodicalId":169048,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121176900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integrated chargers outperform conventional on-board battery chargers (OBCs) since they exploit the propulsion elements in the charging process, which yields a reduction in the cost and weight of the EVs. Various FSCW slot/pole combinations have shown promise in EV applications, such as 12-slot/l0-pole and 18-slot/l6-pole. However, six-phase windings, i.e., dual threephase (D3P), symmetrical six-phase (S6P), and asymmetrical sixphase (A6P), are not viable for all slot/pole combinations. For example, the six-phase 18-slot/l6-pole machine can only be configured with a D3P winding configuration. Moreover, it is proven in the literature that the A6P is better than the D3P under the EV charging process from the radial forces’ perspective. Thus, this paper presents a comprehensive comparison of two six-phase integrated battery chargers using surface-mount permanent magnet (SPM) machines with D3P and pseudo six-phase (P6P) winding arrangements. The machine is first designed based on the magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) model and optimized based on multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA). Finally, finite element (FE) simulations have been carried out to assess the two winding layouts under both operational modes. The P6P winding layout outperforms the D3P in the propulsion mode, offering a6% torque density enhancement, and in the charging mode, offering a much lower radial force.","PeriodicalId":169048,"journal":{"name":"2023 IEEE Conference on Power Electronics and Renewable Energy (CPERE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131957018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
