The researchers used the experimental method in the manner of two equal groups (experimental and control) with two pre and post-tests for its suitability and the nature of the problem to be solved. The sample was chosen by the intentional method, which consisted of (24) players from (Al-Adhamiya and Al-Tijara clubs) of advanced players, due to the availability of the sample and the ease of controlling it, and being one of the players participating in the Iraqi league for the first degree, since the sample is committed to daily training, as well as the availability of the hall and tools, and the sample was divided into two groups, one experimental, represented in the Al-Adhamiya Sports Club, the number of which is (12) players, and the other is a control group represented by Al-Tijara Sports Club, numbering (12) players. The experimental group applied the exercises of speed of kinetic response and defense movements prepared by the researcher on the device, and the control group applied the trainer’s free exercises without a device. The two researchers conducted homogenization of the sample by extracting the torsion coefficient. One of the most important conclusions reached by the researchers is that the effect of the particular exercises prepared by the researcher using the (Blazepod) training device in developing the endurance of defensive performance significantly among the advanced basketball players (experimental group), and this is evident from the difference between the arithmetic mean between the pre and post-tests, and the effect of the exercises prepared by the coach in developing the endurance of the defensive performance was simple among the advanced basketball players (control group), and this is evident from the difference of the arithmetic mean between the pre and post-tests.","PeriodicalId":16809,"journal":{"name":"journal of physical education","volume":"37 1","pages":"307-318"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-03-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.jcope.uobaghdad.edu.iq/index.php/jcope/article/download/1930/1693","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147904675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The playing style fulfills several objectives for coaches to enhance the proficiency of their players, particularly in age-specific categories. Motor abilities immediately influence skill capabilities, thereby conferring a significant advantage to the team. Age groups require emphasis since they constitute the essential foundation for elite teams and the extensive base for national teams. Consequently, they ought to be advanced to more rigorous and meticulously designed training to attain superior performance levels. The experimental approach employed a one-group design, with a sample including 15 players from the Baghdad Karkh Sports Talent Center for football. A collection of instruments was utilized, comprising goals of diverse heights and dimensions, ten regulation soccer balls, cones and markers, training platforms of varying elevations, a POLAR-TEAM intensity measuring device, and a protractor. The statistical software (SPSS) was utilized to compute the mean, median, standard deviation, skewness, and T-test for linked samples. The researchers determined that the motor and skill abilities of the study group improved at varying rates; nevertheless, the effectiveness regarding endurance and rolling speed was limited. The activities executed resulted in a more significant enhancement in skill capabilities relative to motor abilities. The implementation of applied exercises tailored for various age groups in training centers involves the design of diverse exercises, configurations, and environments, as well as the number of participants. Additionally, it focuses on developing more effective playing strategies and underscores the utilization of modern equipment to precisely calibrate training intensity standards, including the system. It also sought to establish the relationship, contribution, and impact of psychological narcissism on the experience of psychological loneliness among young basketball players. The researcher hypothesizes that psychological narcissism and psychological loneliness among players have a moral correlation. The study focused on youth basketball and utilized a descriptive approach modeled on co-relational relationships. The community consisted of basketball players from Baghdad youth clubs who were training to participate in the local sports season (2023/234). The Sulaikh Club, Housing, and Industries naturally distributed the remaining 72 players among themselves. We intentionally selected Electricity, Air Force, and Civil Defense players using a thorough enumeration approach, ensuring 100% participation. They were considered a single sample, with 35 players selected for the construction sample, accounting for 48.611%, and 5 players selected for other purposes. Intentional gamers from this group made up 6.944% of the exploratory sample and 44.4444% of the remaining 32 individuals in the main research sample. We constructed specialized scales, such as paper and pen scales, to measure two phenomena within the target sample. We developed these scales by following field methodological steps and applying statistical treatments to the building sample. We obtained the results by conducting a survey and scanning the main sample. We then analyzed the results using the SPSS system. The findings indicate that young players exhibit a significant degree of psychological narcissism in the training and competitive setting, as well as a reduced sense of psychological unity in their basketball performances. The manifestation of these psychological phenomena in a partnership has a detrimental impact on the character of their group game. The suggestions were to focus on preventing and reducing psychological narcissism among basketball players. They should strive to enhance their self-confidence and assume responsibility for confronting the various situations in which they encounter psychological stress. This will help to establish a sense of psychological unity, which in turn positively impacts the outcomes of their competitions in this collaborative game that demands cooperation among the players.","PeriodicalId":16809,"journal":{"name":"journal of physical education","volume":"36 3","pages":"666-688"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://jcope.uobaghdad.edu.iq/index.php/jcope/article/download/2184/1585","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147901346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the aspects that influence the development of diabetes, the time in sedentary behavior and the time of physical activity are important risk factors. Objectives: To estimate cut-off points for time spent in sedentary behavior and physical activity as a discriminator of the presence of diabesity and to evaluate the predictive ability of WC and PA to identify this condition in quilombola adults. Methodology: this is a cross-sectional study with a sample composed of 332 adults (age ≥ 50 years), participants in the study of the Epidemiological Profile of Quilombolas from Bahia living in the micro-region of Guanambi, Brazil. The data were obtained by means of interviews and anthropometric evaluation. Sociodemographic and lifestyle information (physical activity and sedentary behavior) were included. To analyze the cut-off point of Sedentary Behavior as a predictor of diabesity, the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve was used. Results: Time in sedentary behavior >120 min/day and time in physical activity <240 min/week were the best cut-off points for discriminating diabesity in quilombola, with area under the ROC curve of 0.62, 95% CI (0.56-0.67) and 0.62 (95% CI: 0.55-0.67), respectively. Conclusions: The results showed that time in sedentary behavior and time in physical activity showed a good ability to discriminate the presence of diabesity among quilombola adults.","PeriodicalId":16809,"journal":{"name":"journal of physical education","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136073401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, understanding the information inherent to its quality can help to understand its effects on human behavior. Assessing the quality of the bike paths in Florianopolis was the goal, using the QualiCiclo instrument and the SOPARC instrument for use profile. A total of 38 axes of cycle paths with 54 km of length were selected, and the qualitative analysis was classified as sufficient, with an overall average of 1.61 points. Observed 6,113 cyclists of which the majority were men, adults and in moderate intensity and better-quality bike paths have a greater number of cyclists (50.5%). Logistic regression analyzes showed that, usually, young people are less likely (OR:0.40; 95%CI: 0.24-0.67) to use bicycle paths classified as “good”. When observed by category, there is a greater chance of women using bike paths that have “good/excellent” quality of infrastructure and “sufficient” and “good/excellent” quality of signage. It is concluded that Florianopolis has an adequate network of cycle paths, however, the distribution of structures and cycle path connection is irregular between the regions of the city. A higher quality of bicycle path structures can promote greater use by women and the elderly, groups that perform less physical activity.","PeriodicalId":16809,"journal":{"name":"journal of physical education","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136193898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Epidemiological, cross-sectional study, conducted with 208 older adults in Aiquara, Bahia, Brazil. Habitual PA and SB were quantified using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Based on this information, participants were divided into groups (G): G1) sufficiently active and low SB; G2) sufficiently active and high SB; G3) insufficiently active and low SB; and G4) insufficiently active and high SB. Assessment of dynapenia was performed based on the values of the handgrip strength measured in kilogram-force (kgf) (women: 18.37 kgf; men: 26.75 kgf). Descriptive analysis was conducted using absolute and relative frequencies, mean and standard deviation. For the inferential analysis, Poisson regression was used, with a robust estimator, calculation of Prevalence Ratios (PRs) and their relevant Confidence Intervals (CIs) of 95.0%. It was observed that the mean age of women and men were, respectively, 71.0 ± 6.7 and 72.3 ± 8.1 years and the prevalence of dynapenia observed was about 24.5%.
