Severe water scarcity of drinking water was being faced for 6 to 9 months in by 60% of villages in the Dahegaon watershed in year 2018 due to depletion in ground water level. The land degradation over the years resulted in silted tanks, reduced storage capacities and potential of recharge and observed that narrowed down of natural drainage. The crop productivity and area under cultivation was less due to unavailability of water for protective irrigation. With an aim to conserve water to improve drinking water availability during water scarce period (Jan-June), various measures implemented 6068 ha watershed to reduce water stress and build capacities for sustainable use of resources. It included rejuvenating the streams, tanks, soil conservation treatments, promotion of water use efficient technologies and build capacities of community to manage natural resources. There is a reduction of 82.92% in the requirement of tankers over the baseline year 2017 while dry spell analysis shows that despite 58 days of dry spell in year 2021, tankers were not required. The comparative analysis of well water levels (May month) below ground level (bgl) in 96 observation wells showed that there is a change of 10.38% (2.7m) in maximum water level bgl, 5.26% in minimum bgl water levels and 13.79% (1.79m) in average bgl water levels. The area under agriculture is also increased in summer season under crop land 29.03 % year 2021 against Base line 12.50% in year 2017and under (plantation) horticulture crops 9.90 % against base line 2.14% respectively. The area under water bodies in March season also shows increase 124 % against base line year2017. The NDVI & NDMI mean value results show positive change over the baseline 0.34 from 0.23 and 0.02 from -0.00 respectively. The overall water conservation approach found effective to minimize dependency on tanker water supply for drinking and also increased area under agriculture and horticulture. The approach is replicable in similar drought prone areas to resolve water availability problems. Further study to understand the impact on agriculture and drinking water in drought years is essential.","PeriodicalId":16749,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135640508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Ayurveda also ginger is mentioned as one of the important ingredient to remove the cough from the body. The main effects of ginger are due to chemical constituents present in that such as gingerols and shogaols that act as their active agents. In the dried flower of chamomile there are presence of flavonoid and terpenoid due to which if gave the medicinal effects. Chamomile preparations are commonly used for many human ailments such as hay fever, inflammation, muscle spasms, menstrual disorders, insomnia, ulcers, wounds, gastrointestinal disorders, rheumatic pain, and hemorrhoids. Essential oils of chamomile are used extensively in cosmetics and aromatherapy. Many different preparations of chamomile have been developed, the most popular of which is in the form of herbal tea consumed more than one million cups per day. In this study we prepare and evaluate chamomile and ginger tablet. Tablets are among convenient dosage forms which patients prefer due to their advantages. This tablet is specifically use for anti-emetic purpose.","PeriodicalId":16749,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry","volume":"183 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135640981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The herbs were extracted by using the simple decoction process. Most effective herbs-Shikakai, Reetha, Neem, Aloe vera , Hibiscus, Fenugreek, Onion juice, Sidar powder, Curry leaves were chosen in order to improve anti-dandruff activity. The formulations were evaluated for physical appearance, pH, dirt dispersion, determination of percent solid content, foam stability test, antimicrobial activity for M furfur, skin irritation test and stability testing. Stability studies were conducted for one month for all the three formulations and shows slight changes in their physicochemical properties. From the results, it may be concluded that First formulation meets all the requirements of the evaluation parameters which is harmless and cost effective.","PeriodicalId":16749,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry","volume":"120 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80740913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The latest updates from the World Health Organization (WHO) in the context of PMTCT date back to April 2012. The WHO recommends that low-and intermediate-resource countries introduce life-long triple therapy for HIV-positive women (WHO). The aim of the present study is to examine the relationship between maternal serology and clinical parameters in newborns. It is a prospective, descriptive, retro study carried out on 529 HIV-positive and 467 HIV-negative women in three hospitals in the city of Abidjan. Clinical parameters were measured using a balance and a measuring cup, and blood samples were taken. Among the 543 exposed infants, 2 were found to be seropositive after three PCR tests. In 94.9% of seropositive women, delivery was vaginal. Most newborns were born at full term (98.9%) in seropositive patients, with 65.1% having a birth weight of between 2,500 and 3,500 g and a good apgar score (92.7%) at the first minute and (99.5%) at the fifth minute. Breastfeeding was the most common method of delivery, irrespective of the mother's serostatus: 94.3% for seropositive and 97.6% for seronegative mothers. In this study, the mother's serology had no influence on the clinical parameters of newborns on ARV treatment.","PeriodicalId":16749,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry","volume":"242 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86743041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
