Various handover algorithms have been proposed to handle this situation. Unfortunately, many of these handover algorithms have only been evaluated by simulations. They do not take the wide range of mobile devices with varying system parameters into account. For the practical deployment, handover algorithms are required that adapt to various device parameters and network characteristics. In this paper we present a fuzzy-based vertical handover decision algorithm which adjusts itself to the given device and network capabilities. Starting with a discussion of handover requirements we present the algorithm and describe how it is activated in the handover process. However, the ED does not work well in the presence of noise power uncertainty. So we study sensing-throughput tradeoff by using an autocorrelation detector (AD) for an OFDM signal. In this paper, we derive a closed form expression for the false alarm probability over both Nakagami-m and Rician fading channels. This false alarm probability relies upon a new threshold which takes into account an outage constraint on the probability of detection due to fading environments. The results show that the throughput improves with an increase in the Nakagami-m fading parameter and the Rician factor. The base stations are non-cooperating and the instantaneous transmission rate depends on the instantaneous SINR at the receiver. The purpose of this article is to highlight a power-efficient transmit policy. By assuming a large number of homogeneous users, we model the problem as a mean field game, with tractable equations, that allow us to bypass the complexity of analyzing a Nash equilibrium in a L-body dynamic game. Recently, variants of Matrix Pencil (MP) algorithms have been presented to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of coherent or non-coherent signals using uniform linear arrays (ULA). These include the Unitary Matrix Pencil (UMP), the Single Invariance, and the Multiple Invariance Beam-space Matrix Pencil (BMP) algorithms. We have applied these algorithms for TDOA estimation using OFDM systems. The accuracy, stability, and complexity of various MP algorithms are investigated using IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11n system parameters. Attached to patients, these nodes can be mobile, thus forming a mobile wireless sensor network (mWSN). Moreover, non-cooperative nodes may also be present in the network. This paper therefore proposes a routing method for non-cooperative mWSNs based on Reinforcement Learning (RL). In particular, a reputation and trust scheme to avoid misbehaving nodes was integrated with an existing RL-based routing protocol called RL-QRP. We evaluated its performance in non-cooperative mWSNs under various conditions of non-cooperation and mobility. The article presents new results on room-level indoor localization, using cellular Received Signal Strength fingerprints collected with a standard cellular handset programmed to perform fast scans of the 900 and 1800 Megahertz GSM bands as a user explores an indoor environment at a normal walking pace. Support Vector Machines are used to deal with the high dimensionality of the fingerprints. Compressive Sensing is used to generate a reduced CSI feedback to the transmitter in order to reduce feedback load into the system. Performance of the schemes are compared by computational simulations of bit error rate (BER) curves for the considered approaches QC and CS. To deal with these issues BSs can be organized in clusters and perform CoMP transmission towards the user equipments (UEs) in their coverage area. In this work we develop a greedy dynamic joint clustering scheduling algorithm for the downlink of CoMP systems by assuming that the set of candidate clusters is limited and predetermined, based on UEs measurements. The set of non-overlapping selected clusters and the UEs scheduled in each cluster change dynamically at each time slot and are optimized by maximizing the system weighted sum rate. We evaluate the performance of the developed method by considering different criteria to select the set of available clusters and different policies to schedule the UEs in each cluster.
