These systems promise ubiquitous computing in a digitalized world. However many problems need to be solved to achieve this dream. One of these problems is the limited battery power of the nodes and the limited bandwidth of the communication. Existing work tackle the problem of limited bandwidth by merging communication packets within the network. Based on this approach we investigate the use of application specific aggregation in publish/subscribe wireless sensor systems. We expect this approach to overcome overload situations in the network and decrease packet loss due to bandwidth exhaustion. This paper describes our architecture and evaluates the properties of our approach. We investigated specific topologies theoretically and through real-life experiments. Our results quantify the achievable event count and loss rate reduction.","PeriodicalId":167010,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Information Networks and Systems (WINSYS)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131644551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless some perturbances affect the capability of this technique to get the expected improvement. Due to the use of multiple antennas at the same front-end and their close spacing the so called antennas correlation effect appears. Antennas correlation can drastically affect the channel behaviour by increasing the bit-error rate (BER) and dropping its capability. This paper analyses the impact of transmitter-side antennas correlation on the MIMO system performance. The singular value decomposition (SVD) is used to transform the MIMO channel into independent layers. Afterwards bit and power allocation techniques are applied in order to obtain the best performance.","PeriodicalId":167010,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Wireless Information Networks and Systems (WINSYS)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129209008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
