The proposed design consists of two 14-GHz and 28-GHz band pass filters (BPFs). Each BPF consists of elliptical OLRRs that couple two microstrip lines. The geometrical parameters of both BPFs can easily adjust the passband and stopband frequencies to the desired frequencies. The proposed elliptical-shaped OLRRs show good broadband characteristics. The longer OLRR is responsible for achieving passband at the lower resonant frequency of 14-GHz while the shorter OLRR is used to generate a 28-GHz resonant frequency. The use of indirect microwave holography enables the complex field scattered from the object under imaging to be recovered from intensity-only scalar microwave measurements and therefore removes the requirement of using expensive vector measurement equipment. This significantly reduces the cost of the imaging system and simplifies the hardware implementation. Following the successful implementation of indirect holography method for shape and position reconstruction, we have explored an algorithm which combines indirect holography method and CSI method to solve the phaseless data reconstruction problem. Circular polarization is obtained by introducing a cross slot to generate two near orthogonal degenerate modes having similar amplitudes and 900 phase difference. Four pin diodes are placed across the slots to switch between two polarization states namely, Right Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) and Left Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP). The antenna yields a measured impedance bandwidth of 26.3% in case of LHCP and 28.2% in case of RHCP. To provide a good conjugate matching between the S-shaped tag antenna and the ship, the technique of adding asymmetrical triangular stubs on both side of the tag chip was applied. The proposed tag antenna operating in the 915MHz RFID band proposed here has dimensions of only 51×43 mm2 and the operating bandwidth is from 909 to 920 MHz (to cover US Band) under -10dB reflection coefficient condition. Furthermore, the measured read range was found to be 0.56 m at 915 MHz. The geometry of the two antennas has been shaped so to mimic the logo of two popular companies: the French clothing company LACOSTE and the American multinational corporation APPLE Inc. Two prototypes fabricated by using a conductive non-woven textile on a layer of jeans are presented. Both prototypes were optimized to work at 1.8 GHz. The basic configuration is a microstrip patch antennas consist of a metallic patch on one side of the dielectric substrate with a ground plane on the other side. The antenna system consists of 2×4 radiating elements of similar geometry printed on a substrate. The designed antenna is excited using the microstrip feeding. The theoretical analysis is based on the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. In these analyses the characteristics of the MIMO antenna arrays are presented in terms of return loss, mutual coupling, gain and radiation patterns. The proposed antenna is simulated by using High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS). The measured maximum read range in free space is 7.5. By adding foam substrate of thickness 3 mm between the tag antenna and the metallic plate the read range remains constant. Indeed, we generate a set of observations according to a mathematical model of smart antennas, and we apply various separation methods, such as ICA based ones to perform the extraction of the independent components and the mixing matrix. The tested algorithms are classified according to their performance index of separability.
