There is a need for effective testing techniques for larger, complex and safety critical software applications in different fields of life such as defense, medical, automobiles and control systems for different products. Recent approaches have been taken by the researcher to use UML models for the purpose of software testing. Test cases may be generated from the artifacts used in requirement and design specifications or it is produced from the code of software. The former is more advantageous over the later for test case generations and contributes more positively in software development process; although both has its own vital roles. Much research has been done and even in progress for software testing using UML diagrams. In this paper we have gone through a literature review on different techniques proposed for testing from UML models. This work focuses on finding the existing approaches of software testing that adopted the way of formalizing the user requirements using use case scenarios and use case diagrams. Then these approaches are evaluated using some parameters i.e. support for inter-scenario dependency, consistency check, initial artifact and the target formalization by each approach. This paper will make help to the researcher interested in the field of software testing using the artifacts in the requirement and design specifications of software application under development.","PeriodicalId":166507,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126121275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method utilizes edge detection and Steganography techniques. The Canny edge detection technique is used to identify true edge pixels and 4LSB Steganography technique is used to hide a secret message in the 4 least significant bits of edge pixels in the cover image. By hiding data in edges improve the quality of stego-image significantly. The results obtained show that the proposed technique hides large amount secret information in the cover image with better visual image quality than other techniques. The experimental results demonstrate the average hiding capacity of 4%, and the PSNR and MSE are 45dB and 1.60 respectively.","PeriodicalId":166507,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125775940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With great advancements in technologies and concerns about environmental effects, utilities are moving towards interconnection of Distributed Generation (DG) in the distribution networks. Apart from environmental advantages, DG's can have significant impacts on the power system depending on type of DG unit and its interconnection with the distribution network. In this research paper, the impacts of DG on voltage profile and power losses are investigated on a practical radial distribution network with four cases of DG interconnection. With each case, the performances of interconnected DG in terms of voltage and power losses are analyzed through simulation in Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP). The location of coupling and size of interconnected DG is used as a parameter in order to verify the effects on these issues. Detailed simulations are conducted in order to explain and verify the results. It is found that there is significant improvement in bus voltages and power loss reduction depending on appropriate size and feasible locations of DGs interconnection.","PeriodicalId":166507,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121549806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
