Resonator characteristics and coupling structures are illustrated as well as coupling matrix synthesis that used to realize the dual-band response. A sixth order dual-band bandpass filter was designed, simulated, and fabricated. The simulated response shows passbands at 2.565 GHz and 2.630 GHz with 3-dB bandwidth of 28 MHz and 35 MHz, respectively. It is a very compact filter without any supporting structure whereas it has good thermal resistance, relatively large power handling capability, and high performance characteristics. It can be employed in microcell/picocell LTE and 5G base stations.","PeriodicalId":166478,"journal":{"name":"2016 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116797938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is based on hybrid microstrip coplanar waveguide (dual sided metal) structure. A Multiple Resonant Structure (MRS) is constructed using coplanar waveguide (CPW) planar transmission line. The MRS makes the resonance using quarter wavelength and half wavelength open ended CPW. The equispaced three resonances at lower edge (3.1 GHz), center (6.85 GHz) and higher edge (10.6 GHz) of the whole Ultra Wide Band are achieved using CPW MRS. To make the band as flat as possible, two more resonances are introduced using quarter wavelength microstrip patches on top of commonly shared substrate, so the proposed filter becomes a five pole bandpass filter. A dumb-bell shaped defected ground structure on either side of CPW MRS improves the return loss almost less than −20 dB over the whole UWB passband. The simulated results of proposed filter shows good transmission response within passband and good rejection in out of band. The measured results agree well with the simulated ones.","PeriodicalId":166478,"journal":{"name":"2016 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116578028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, all the current classification methods are limited by the assumption that only a single target is present in the channel. In this work, we propose a method to classify multiple targets that are simultaneously present in the channel on the basis of a single channel source separation technique. We apply sparse coding based dictionary learning (DL) algorithms for disaggregating micro-Doppler returns from multiple targets into its constituent signals. The classification is subsequently carried out on the disaggregated signals. We have tested the performance of the proposed algorithm on simulated human and fan data.","PeriodicalId":166478,"journal":{"name":"2016 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129578183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed phase shifters consist of a SIW section with rows of metallic posts used for phase shifting are inserted at the output ports. The proper phase shifting in this configuration is achieved by changing the diameter and position of these metallic posts. There is a shift in the region of operation of the phase shifter as the diameter and the position of the via changes. The proposed geometry is designed and optimized by numerical simulations (HFSS) and fabricated prototype is validated through experiments. Simulated and measured results of proposed structures are in good agreement. For two output phase shifter consecutive ports have the phase shift of 152° and for four output of 40° are achieved. GaN SSPA has already been applied to various fields such as ground stations and radar systems. Mitsubishi Electric TOKKI Systems (MELOS) had succeeded in developing 150W S-band GaN SSPA and 70W C-band GaN SSPA for satellite use in the past. Based on these development results of the GaN SSPA, MELOS further developed a 100W C-Band GaN SSPA with power added efficiency (PAE) of 50%. In order to achieve higher power and efficiency, MELOS selected a new GaN device and optimized the matching circuit and improved the efficiency of electrical power conditioner (EPC). Furthermore, MELOS adopted MMICs in the RF Low Power Section and optimized the chassis to reduce size. Development result showed that, together with EPC, the GaN SSPA achieved an output power of 119.3W max with PAE of 53.4% max. The mass was 1.45 kg and environment tests at QT level proved that the GaN SSPA is applicable to space use. To the best of our knowledge, the GaN SSPA in this study achieves the highest PAE of C-band GaN SSPA ever reported over 100 W output power. MELOS will continue to pursue further its potential capabilities.","PeriodicalId":166478,"journal":{"name":"2016 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (APMC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129006068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
