Abstract

A compact co-planar waveguide (CPW) fed triple band monopole antenna for WLAN/WiMAX application is proposed. The proposed antenna consists of two inverted L-shaped slots and a V-shaped slots etched in a trapezoid shaped monopole attached to a CPW feed line. The antenna operates in the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands and 3.5/5.5 GHz WiMAX bands and has a compact size of 21×24 mm2. In addition, the proposed antenna achieves good radiation pattern and stable gain over the specified bands. The antenna has been fabricated and tested and the measured results agree well with the simulation results.
