The study may help to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the faculty members based on the positive and negative feedback of the students either in English or in Filipino language. The proposed system provides the sentiment score from the qualitative data and numerical response rating from the quantitative data of teachers evaluation. It will also graphically represent the evaluation result including the percentage of positive and negative feedback of the students. Thus, the school administrators and educators will be more aware about the sentiments and concerns of the students.","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"50 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120910526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is also a growing belief among developing countries that technology is the only solution for credible elections. This present study critically reviews the current state of research on e-voting in developing countries through a systematic examination of sixty seven academic papers. The findings reveal a lack of research continuity and that there is evidence of leapfrogging in the current studies where socio-technical system design processes have preceded strategic design inquiries. This paper then propounds the use of Socio-Technical Systems theory to perceive the technology and proposes courses for future research on e-voting in developing countries.","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127651561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cough can be classified into wet and dry classes based on the mucus. In pediatric population, knowing the type of cough is useful for diagnosis as well as treatment. Currently, the classification of coughs is carried manually during the physical examination. Manual classification is tedious and subjective. The results depend heavily on the experiences and the skills of the physicians. In this paper, we propose a novel feature set called intra-cough shimmer jump (ICSJ) and intra-cough Teager energy operator jump (ICTeJ) to discriminate dry/wet coughs. The proposed method achieved 76% of accuracy, 77% of sensitivity and 75% of sensitivity. The Kappa agreement was 0.52, indicated a moderate agreement with the classification from the pediatricians. Our method can be developed into a non-invasive tool for assessing cough in the resource limited-settings.","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129965630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motivation of this work is to propose end-devices prototyping design which are: (1) able to represent several main electronic functions in a common home; (2) able to support our existing and efficient smart home platform; and (3) able to provide smart functions on existing appliances without any major changes and modifications. For prototyping purposes, we design several electronic end-devices to represent: (1) humidity and temperature sensors, (2) remote power switch controller, and (3) ambient lamp (standard and colored) controller. All of them can be remotely controlled by using a smart-phone, anytime and from anywhere. Experimental results give us proofs that the designated end-devices can work properly to fulfill the research targets.","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116853488","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some of these software are governing the working of very safety-critical domains, like medicine and military. This transition has brought up software testing to ensure that the software behave as intended. With the growing complexity of software, software testing has also revolutionized in the past couple of decades. This paper surveys the recent trends in software testing and provides comprehensive tutorial about black and white-box testing. Moreover, an analysis of different commercial tools in this domain is also presented.","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"2019 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125297351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inductance of the size of the current limiting reactor is based line capacity and inductance. This paper discusses statistical route to optimize design margin available. With a view to assign a statistical rating to the inductor, simulations have been conducted with 100 randomly selected switching instants and fault introduced at 10% of the line length. The switching instants have been distributed over half period (10ms) of a 50Hz AC cycle. Statistical mean and standard deviation are arrived based on these results and minimum and maximum short circuit current for one standard deviation are considered as optimal statistical ratings for the system, covering faults in this range. The PSCAD and MATLab based simulations are carried out to for this study which suggests practical and cost effective approach for selection of such Current Limiting Reactors (CLR).","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115252358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of this project is to harvest potential energy inherent in tall buildings using micro-pelton turbine at the ground from grey water and rain water. Purified water is collected in separate tanks and a control system is designed for optimum power output from the micro-turbine which is analyzed computationally. With the escalating number of high rises and increasing awareness about renewable sources of energy, this source of energy can become a viable alternative.","PeriodicalId":166275,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP)","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-04-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128812413","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
