An integral type sliding manifold is selected by considering the singular matrix. Delay dependent sufficient conditions are derived in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) for robust passivity of sliding mode dynamics. The system is assumed to have unmatched norm bounded uncertainties in system parameters and matched bounded external disturbances and uncertainties due to unmodeled dynamics. The regularization and removal of impulsive solutions have been considered. The problem of feedback passification of unstable systems is solved and robust controller with memory is synthesized that ensures the passivity of sliding mode dynamics. An SMC law is established that guarantees the reach ability of states to sliding surface in a finite time. The derived results are validated by a numerical example at the end.","PeriodicalId":166149,"journal":{"name":"2012 10th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131672569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Khan","doi":"10.1109/FIT.2012.38","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/FIT.2012.38","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper, we give a definition of the formal (denotational) semantics of MiniMaple (a substantial subset of a widely used computer algebra system Maple with slight modifications) and its specification language. Defining the formal semantics of MiniMaple and its specification language is rather a challenging task as these support non-standard types of objects, e.g. symbols, unions and polynomials, and additional predicates and functions, e.g. runtime type tests etc. Furthermore, the specification language also supports logical and sequence quantifiers and numeric quantifiers with a logical condition (property) to quantify a filtered range of values. This semantics is defined as a pre-requisite of a verification calculus which we are currently developing. The verification conditions generated by the verification calculus must be sound w.r.t. defined formal semantics.","PeriodicalId":166149,"journal":{"name":"2012 10th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129961787","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rønningen, Ameen Chilwan","doi":"10.1109/FIT.2012.9","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/FIT.2012.9","url":null,"abstract":"Distributed Media Plays (DMP) is a futuristic architecture for the Internet. It is specifically designed keeping in mind that a number of futuristic Internet services have real-time constraints, particularly the end-to-end delay has to be less than 20 ms. These constraints need to be fulfilled by the network and the current RTP/UDP/IP protocol stack is found to be limited in this regard. Thus an alternative network architecture is proposed and being developed with special, although compatible with IPv6, packets. The handling of these packets in DMP network is explained in this paper. The foundation of DMP system is laid on the quality requirements of the futuristic Internet services. Therefore, one of the features of DMP is that the content quality is gracefully degraded in case the network is overloaded and the traffic injection has to be reduced. This is provided by introducing a scheme for ``Quality Shaping'' which is explained in detail in this paper. Also a new ``Link Flow Control (LFC)'' functionality is introduced in DMP architecture to enhance quality control of contents, which is also explained herein. The LFC functionality helps the DMP network nodes to have an overview of the capacity bottlenecks in the network and hence adjust the traffic flow accordingly.","PeriodicalId":166149,"journal":{"name":"2012 10th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132989815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bi-directional equalization can improve the bit error rate performance. Bi-directional equalizer performs two equalizations, one on received block of information and other on its time reversed version. This can result in an increased complexity. The time varying nature of the doubly selective channel is also a cause for concern, from the perspective of computational complexity. Several low complexity equalization techniques for doubly selective channels have been reported in the literature. This work studies low complexity bi-directional equalization of doubly selective channels. The proposed scheme of bi-directional equalization offers low computational complexity in comparison with existing low complexity approaches of equalization of doubly dispersive channel.","PeriodicalId":166149,"journal":{"name":"2012 10th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122160279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is interfaced with a computer through a USB based data acquisition module and interfacing circuitry. A calibration equation is implemented through computer in order to convert the amplified output of the sensor to temperature. Overall plant is nonlinear, therefore, system identification is performed in three different regions depending upon the plant input. For these three regions, three linear controllers are designed with closed-loop system having small rise time, settling time and overshoot. Switching of controllers is based on regions defined by plant input. In order to avoid the effect of discontinuity, due to switching of linear controllers, parameters of all linear controllers are taken closer to each other. Finally, discretized controllers along with switching condition are implemented for the plant through computer and practical results are demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":166149,"journal":{"name":"2012 10th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology","volume":"27 4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125106277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
