The opportunities and risks of expanding economic cooperation with China, including for the Eurasian economic integration, are determined. The role of Russian-Indian cooperation in diversification of cooperation vectors in Eurasia, increasing its balance and stability is shown. The potential of BRICS+ and SCO+ formats, as well as the possible interaction of the two blocks, is analyzed. New accents in the Russian policy on the African and Middle East directions are revealed. The author presents the concept of the Greater Eurasian partnership and stresses its central role in optimizing Russia's external positioning, proposes an algorithm for promoting macro-regional integration in Eurasia with Russia's active participation. It reviews current methods used, their advantages and limitations. Methods employed include analysis of academic sources, comparative analysis, classification, data analysis etc. The goal is to provide review of foreign experience to analyze best practices to improve decision making process for government-backed venture projects. In Russia, assessment of efficiency of interaction between state-owned financial institutions and venture investors is still evolving. The situation drives to improve mechanisms and tools of government financial monitoring and control via building of the KPI system taking into account the possible implementation. Hence, the research results enable to improve efficiency management decisions in terms of funding of innovative government-backed venture projects. For more than 20 years, the international legal status of the Caspian Sea has been an important aspect of the foreign policy of the Caspian states and not only that, due to the preservation of peace, mutually beneficial cooperation and sovereign rights of coastal states to the wealth of the Caspian Sea. As agreed by all the Caspian states on August 12, 2018, the V Caspian Summit was held in Aktau, during which the heads of state signed the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea. Despite inter-state disagreements, it seems that, due to their relevance, the provisions of the Convention deserve a formal legal analysis containing some suggestions and comments. The subject of analysis of this article was international legal norms on the status of the Caspian Sea. This article aims to conduct a formal legal analysis of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea in 2018.
