The proposed antenna is applicable for the use of portable transceivers to cover two bands of operating frequencies. The first band covers 150 MHz to 174 MHz. The second band covers 764 to 870 MHz. Dividing the helix into multiple segments with different pitches and number of turns to create multiple, overlapping resonances, a VSWR of better than 2:1 is achieved from 764 to 870 MHz. Also, by using a simple, two-element high-pass matching circuit, the antenna is matched to 50 ohms from 150 to 174 MHz without affecting the response in the second band. The radiation patterns of the antenna mounted on a portable radio chassis exhibit the characteristics of a dipole in both bands. The helical antenna remains as a single feeding, single element antenna.","PeriodicalId":164885,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128495826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primitive cells of FPC are supposed to have a given crystallographic structure with certain defects, such as extrinsic inclusions, vacancies, dislocations and so on. An effective solution to the wave propagation and scattering problems in such crystals is obtained, an original treatment of eigenvalue and eigenfield problems in application to FPC is presented, and the FPC band structure is calculated, taking account of inter-cell interactions. A new computer code to analyze radiation, scattering, absorption and energetic characteristics of the doped FPC is described, and its possibilities for the design of integrated optic devices are demonstrated.","PeriodicalId":164885,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126402453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A conducting cylinder of unknown shape, which is buried in the second layer scatters the incident wave from the first layer and the scattered field is recorded in the first and third layers. Based on the boundary condition and the measured scattered field, a set of nonlinear integral equations is derived and the imaging problem is optimized by the genetic algorithm. Numerical results demonstrated that, even when the initial guess is far away from the exact one, good reconstruction has been obtained.","PeriodicalId":164885,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131039466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It provides a comparatively faster algorithm for simulation and visualization of electromagnetic processes occurring in long coaxial lines. The method is applied to the simulation of cables with a steel partition, as well as the junction domain of layered cables. This method is extended and applied for the investigation of cables with different heterogeneity, as well as for different cable junction area simulation.","PeriodicalId":164885,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126961269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
