The objective was to determine the perception of the relatives of the surgical patient regarding the communication of the nursing staff, through the application of semi-structured interviews. A descriptive design with a qualitative approach was used, framed in the phenomenological paradigm, a semi-structured interview was applied, with a duration of approximately 15 to 20 minutes, with an intentional convenience sampling, which justifies the selection of 20 relatives. of surgical patients recruited on the outskirts of a public hospital, where information saturation was reached. For the analysis of the data, a graph was prepared to represent the responses of the participants according to the categories previously established by the authors. It is concluded that in all the categories the informants, that is, the relatives of the surgical patients, expressed negative responses towards the effective communication of the nursing staff, which makes us aware that the health personnel must be more empathetic and social with users and the family environment, in order to meet the objective of providing quality care and warmth","PeriodicalId":164845,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Dermatology Open Access Journal","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122546009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Clinically, it is characterized by a brown-to-black asymptomatic macule, with well- defined edges, most commonly affecting the palms and soles. We report a case of palmar Tinea nigra and the features found on dermoscopy, reflectance confocal microscopy and microbiology. It is important to recognize this disease early for proper treatment and to distinguish it from other melanocytic lesions with worse prognoses, such as melanoma.","PeriodicalId":164845,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Dermatology Open Access Journal","volume":"76 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123181141","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The clinical characteristics are seborrhea, sebaceous glands, non inflammatory lesions, inflammatory lesions and severe scaring. Propionibacterium acnes are the main pathophysiological factor influencing the acne development. Resistin gene is a novel proinflammatory cytokine involved in the initiation of inflammatory disorders like cardiovascular diseases, obesity and atherosclerosis. Various SNPs have been discovered in human RETN gene which is involved in different inflammatory disorders. Purpose of this study was to analyze RETN -420 C>G polymorphism in female acne patients of Pakistani population. About 58 control female subjects and 76 acne female patients were recruited for this study. In order to examine the RETN -420 C>G polymorphism in the promoter region, PCR and RFLP techniques were used. Statistically significant P value <0.05 for the RETN -420 C>G polymorphism was obtained in genotype/alleles frequencies between acne patients and control female subjects. Significant association between genotype frequencies, disease severity and acne scars distribution among female patients was also observed. It is concluded that RETN -420 promoter polymorphism was not associated with family history and skin types; however it was significantly associated with acne pathopysiology","PeriodicalId":164845,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Dermatology Open Access Journal","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128730870","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of biologics for autoimmune and dermatologic disease has increased the prevalence of patients who are immunocompromised due to medication. Our case presents a 51-year-old HIV negative male with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis who developed PCP after initiating adalimumab. He had previously been taking methotrexate as monotherapy with inadequate control of symptoms. PCP can present with or without respiratory symptoms in those who are immunocompetent, which may cause unintentional shedding to those who are immunocompromised. Due to the detrimental effects of the infection, it is important for dermatologists to be aware of this potential risk of PCP with biologics and considerations for screening for PCP prior to initiating biologic therapy","PeriodicalId":164845,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Dermatology Open Access Journal","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127686461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Frostbite is commonly found in countries with extreme cold climate and mostly found in military. Now a day’s frostbite is found in people associated with winter sports like skiing, hiking, ice climbing. In frostbite two distinct mechanisms, cellular death and necrosis are responsible for dermal ischemia. The extracellular ice crystals are initially formed due to freezing of tissues. These crystals disturb the osmotic gradient of the cell membrane and directly damaging the cell. Causing intracellular dehydration .The intracellular electrolyte concentration increases dramatically initiating cell death. Due to continuous fall in tissue temperature, there is formation of intracellular ice crystals and later theses ice crystals expand leading to mechanical detoration of cells. Anatomically hands and feet account for 90 % of reported injuries, and the others parts involved can be face, buttocks and penis. The role of thromboxane’s and prostaglandins has resulted in more active approach to the medical treatment of frostbite. However this study of leeching in frostbite showed outstanding results in the treatment of all forms of frostbite with very low","PeriodicalId":164845,"journal":{"name":"Clinical Dermatology Open Access Journal","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132901944","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
