So, the objective of corporate semantic web service architecture that we propose is to include knowledge in domain ontology and to make them easily accessible by users. In our context, knowledge contained in the ontology concerns industrial medical domain. Industrial medicine helps prevent abuses of workers (accidents, illnesses, etc.) both physically and mentally. The paper problematic treats two aspects: the first is how to construct the static component of the corporate memory defined by ontology to satisfy users. The second is how to realize the dynamic component to exploit the corporate memory by a web service. This web service is semantic because it is merged from both: the semantic web and the web service paradigms. In order to check the validity of this architecture, we have implemented a case.","PeriodicalId":164080,"journal":{"name":"2015 First International Conference on New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC)","volume":"246 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114193765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The generation of the different acoustic realizations (allophones) is particularly important to improve the quality of the speech synthesizers dedicated to the Arabic language. This improvement is achieved by integrating the allophone units in the acoustic database used for the production of synthetic speech. Our system which generates the allophones is essentially based on phonetic sequences (phonemes) as input. These phonemes are transformed to allophones, by using a base of appropriate rules that we have elaborated.","PeriodicalId":164080,"journal":{"name":"2015 First International Conference on New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128458256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, a reliable identity recognition system is a critical part in these applications that render their services only to genuine users. Thus, biometrics is an emerging technology that utilizes distinct behavioral or physiological traits in order to determine or verify the identity of an individual. In this context, the present paper attempts to design an effectively biometric system by using Finger-Knuckle-Print (FKP) traits. In this study, the feature vector of each segmented FKP is extracted using Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG). In addition, a multi-class Support Vector Machine (SVM) based learning algorithm is used to train the system using the extracted features vectors. From the test results, using PolyU FKP database with 165 persons, it is evident that our scheme has higher identification rate and very less classification error compared to several existing methods.","PeriodicalId":164080,"journal":{"name":"2015 First International Conference on New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134082919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are infrastructureless, autonomous and entirely distributed systems where different wireless mobile nodes are capable of arbitrary movement and power switching without breaking the network connectivity since it is physically possible. In these networks, nodes must operate both as hosts and as routers. Their use is suited when it is impossible or undesirable to use fixed infrastructures. The flexibility offered by ad hoc mobile networks drive researchers to investigate the possibilities of allowing real-time multimedia applications on such networks. However, support for such demanding applications requires quality of service (QoS) guarantees especially regarding latency and losses while those networks are very constrained and poor comparing to conventional networks. Accordingly, this work aims at investigating MANETs performance with VoIP applications through simulation (ns2) in an IEEE 802.11/802.11b based network. We also show through it the important optimization that can be obtained from early dropping of expiring packets in the network. We choose VoIP for our tests as a real-time multimedia application which is having a big growth these last years.","PeriodicalId":164080,"journal":{"name":"2015 First International Conference on New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC)","volume":"29 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131366072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The robots (or agents) can perform a limited amount of work per unit of time, while the tasks have durations and deadlines by which they must be completed. These constraints, in addition to a relatively small number of agents, may not allow the allocation of all tasks. The heuristics we present are easy-to-implement, tuning free and fast. We analyze these heuristics theoretically with respect to computational complexity. Then, we empirically compare them with respect to performance criteria on a synthetic testset. In so doing, we offer solutions for devices with computation power limitations. The same algorithms can also be embedded into metaheuristics or hyper-heuristics to efficiently and effectively solve the problem.","PeriodicalId":164080,"journal":{"name":"2015 First International Conference on New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC)","volume":"411 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124437363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is partly due to the vital need to satisfy customers' goals for systems becoming pervasive and ubiquitous within our daily life. In this research study, we have explored the use of task models to define how the user should interact with a given system. Based on empirical data collected from end-users participating within the usability evaluation of a web application, data analysis is conducted to infer the usability degree. This is carried out in compliance with the defined task model and usability metrics describing efficiency of use. The proposed approach is a milestone towards automating usability evaluation as most of the studies are reporting manual-based methods to assess the usability of software systems. Experimental results performed to assess the usability of a website shows the potency of the system to discover usability setbacks that can be addressed to improve the user experience.","PeriodicalId":164080,"journal":{"name":"2015 First International Conference on New Technologies of Information and Communication (NTIC)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125067134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
