According to the reports, diet and in particular gummy candy may strengthen bowel movements and hence eliminate ileus. A total of 149 patients within the age range of 7-60 years who underwent laparotomy were randomly divided into the experimental group that were treated with gummy candy and the control group which included 73 patients. The experimental group chewed gummy candy four times a day,  hours after operation until the first flatulence. The patients in the both groups were checked for bowel movement and flatulence every two hours and it was recorded precisely. Both groups were also divided into 3 subgroups based on surgical incision. On average, the first recorded bowel sound was 10.78 ± 7.66 hours after the surgery. In addition, the first flatulence was recorded on average 2.51 ± 14.32 hours after the surgery. The mean time of hospitalization in both groups was 104.21±7 57.85 hours. The mean duration between the surgical end time, the first recorded bowel sound and the time to first flatulence was significantly lower in the experimental group compared with the control group.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88660244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Faced with this situation, we decided to contribute to the development of some imidazo [1,2-a] pyridinyl-arylacrylonitriles, as potential new anticandidosics. We proposed the design by molecular hybridization and the synthesis of some imidazo [1,2-a]pyridinyl-arylacrylonitriles following a Knoevenagel condensation reaction between aldehydes and various arylacetonitriles. Furthermore, we carried out the evaluation of the antifungal activities of these hybrid derivatives against Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis and Candida glabrata using the microplate dilution methodology. In the end, imidazo[1,2-a]pyridinyl-arylacrylonitriles turned out to be molecules with strong antifungal activities. The best anticandidosis profile on the three Candida species tested was obtained with the 3-chlorinated compound (5), the MICs of which varied between 357.5 - 0.52 µM. Likewise, the doubly modulated derivative (3c), was particularly illustrated by its good efficacy against Candida tropicalis. These two best compounds can be proposed as the \"hit molecules\" for further pharmacomodulations in order to have a drug candidate for anticandidosis purpose.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"46 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83729375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ideas about difficulties in mastering the language and speech abilities of children with developmental disabilities that hinder their successful socialization serve as the basis for optimizing the learning and upbringing process. The purpose of the article is to consider the features of speech development of students with disabilities and determine the main directions of correctional work based on an interdisciplinary approach. The methodological basis of the study was interdisciplinary, systematic, activity-based, complex and individually differentiated, aiming at the development and improvement of speech among students with disabilities. The data obtained from the study of the speech capabilities of children with disabilities of different nosological groups indicated that they had violations of the formation of various components of the language system that affected the process of speech communication necessary for adaptation, integration and socialization. There was the need to create a correctional speech therapy work with an interdisciplinary nature, containing technologies, methods and techniques aimed at developing the speech of students with disabilities. Based on the results of this study, the directions of correctional speech therapy work, i.e., diagnostic and prognostic, software design, organizational and procedural, advisory and educational, were proposed, revealing the specifics of an interdisciplinary approach that allows optimizing the process of speech development of students with sensory, speech disorders, and mental retardation.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"103 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74358922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the present research was to deal with the problems of integral socialization-individualization of preschoolers of over five years old with speech disorders in motor activity. The study engaged 100 older preschoolers with a normal level of speech development and 100 over-five group with speech disorders attending compensatory and combined groups of preschool educational organizations in Belgorod. The assessment of the results of testing motor abilities has shown that children with speech disorders have an insufficient level of their development. Low indices have been obtained for motor-coordinating abilities (accuracy – nonsufficient level in 100% of girls and boys; dexterity – in 68.2% of boys and 71.4% of girls), involving strength abilities (in 70.5% of boys and in 72, 3% of girls), tolerance (77.3% of boys and 75% of girls). Qualitative and quantitative analyses of the results of self-assessment of motor abilities of preschoolers with speech disorders revealed inadequately exaggerated self-assessment and overestimation of their abilities in motor activity with peers in 30% of children. 21% of children with speech disorders had inadequately negative self-feeling, lack of self-confidence, showed shyness and timidity.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"114 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83460969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, predicting the Length of Stay (LOS) is necessary to ensure optimal allocate of scarce hospital resources. The purpose of this research was to construct a model for predicting COVID-19 patients' hospital LOS by multiple Machine Learning (ML) algorithms. Using a single-center registry, we studied the records of 1225 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 hospitalized patients from February 9, 2020, to December 20, 2020. The most important clinical parameters in the COVID-19 LOS prediction were identified with a correlation coefficient at the P-value< 0.2. Then, the prediction models were developed based on seven ML techniques according to selected variables. Finally, to evaluate the performances of those models several standard quantitative measures includes accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and ROC curve were used to evaluate the proposed predictive models. After implementing feature selection, a total of 20 variables was identified as the most relevant predictors to build the prediction models. The results indicated that the best performance belonged to the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm with the mean accuracy of 99.5%, mean specificity of 99.7%, mean sensitivity of 99.4%, and the standard deviation of 1.2. The SVM provided a reasonable level of accuracy and certainty in predicting the LOS in COVID-19 patients and potentially facilitates hospital bed management, turnover and optimized resource allocation.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75013904","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This disagreement is manifested both at the level of consumers of services - ordinary citizens, and at the level of producers of services - the medical (professional) community. If until recently episodes with a low degree of public satisfaction with the quality of medical services were widely discussed in the media, recent years would have indicated protest moods in the professional group, portending the failure of health care reform. Today, one can hear the conventional wisdom everywhere that it is the medical community that must take full responsibility for solving the pandemic problem fully. However, the analysis of the transitional state of the modern public health system presented in the article, including in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, shows the ability of this “state” to such challenges as political destabilization, public outcry, professional protests and much more. In fact, today we are witnessing a process of expanding the functions of the health care system from traditional, in particular, the provision of medical care to citizens, pharmaceutical activities, the development of state policy in the field of health care and social development, etc., to the area of non-specific and until recently marginal - we mean the ideological component, accumulating in wide layers of society, turns out to be capable of direct political action.","PeriodicalId":16365,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medicinal and Chemical Sciences","volume":"99 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86611690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study involved 166 children aged 1 to 17 years, patients with non-severe community-acquired pneumonia, undergoing inpatient treatment in Pediatric Hospital. On the second day of treatment, each child underwent a heart ECG. The control sample consisted of 271 healthy children. Then, after dispensary observation, children with abnormalities in cardiac conduction had another ECG. The study found that 76% of children with non-severe pneumonia had ECG changes. The majority of children had conduction disorders of different localization and degree. Intraventricular conduction disorder in pneumonia occurred in 38% of cases, 2.5 times more often than in the control sample. Considering pathology of heart excitability, 3.96% of children had signs of right atrium overload, and 2.85 % - of left ventricle. 70 % of children with conduction disorders still had these changes after the ECG study in dynamics. This study showed that children with pneumonia had significant changes in the electrophysiological activity of the heart, which may have persisted after the convalescence period.
