Besides the required RFID backend, the paper also introduces the information system built on top of the backend. The first approach is based on passive RFID whereas the second uses active RFID. In particular, the differences in the processing of system events, delivery of needed information and the implemented infrastructure will be discussed and evaluated.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"183 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132001601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A 3-Disjoint network can concurrently send packets from the source node to increase the arrival ratio or tolerate a maximum of 2 faults in the network by re-routing the packet through another path We have used red blue, green and yellow color for the coloring the nodes. The New 3-DON is better in comparison to existing non Fault-tolerant Omega Multi-stage Interconnection Network in every aspect of performance except the cost.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131607630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When dealing with iris recognition some work was previously done. This paper describes a technique for iris recognition using phase congruency. Phase congruency is used to identify the different feature types that are present in the rich iris texture. It provides an illumination and contrast invariant measure of the significance of feature points. In this paper we will demonstrate how to use phase congruency to locate and identify the minutiae of the iris. An Euclidean distance classifier was used for comparison. Results of this method are seen to be of practical use.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125412106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a detailed survey of the existing hardware and software platform for SDRs. It also presents prototype system for designing and testing of software defined radios in MATLAB/Simulink and briefly discusses the salient functions of the prototype system for Cognitive Radio (CR). A prototype system for wireless personal area network is built and interfaced with a Universal Software Radio Peripheral-2 (USRP2) main-board and RFX2400 daughter board from Ettus Research LLC. The philosophy behind the prototype is to do all waveform-specific processing such as channel coding, modulation, filtering etc. on a host (PC) and general purpose high-speed operations like digital up and down conversion, decimation and interpolation etc. inside FPGA on an USRP2. MATLAB has a rich family of toolboxes that allows building software-defined and cognitive radio to explore various spectrum sensing, prediction and management techniques.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115393721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper besides considering one of the above strategies, methods for improving sample reduction and computational efficiency are also presented. In this case adaptive method according to processing parameters and an input signal has been suggested that due to the use of fewer samples to synthesize the signal is better than the other methods and is significantly efficient.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"298 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115611823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The approach allows creating a system model by operating with artefacts from the problem domain. As a novelty for UML modelling, especially for simulation purposes, the presented meta-model is enriched by a set of stochastic attributes of modelled activities. Modelling process is ensured by developing UML based Domain Specific Language (DSL) that is suitable for the metamodel, where UML diagrams are complemented with attributes necessary for model simulation. A modelling tool prototype was developed with Microsoft Visual Studio using Microsoft Visualization and Modelling SDK. Elaborated models are stored in a model base which conforms to the described metamodel. Relevant DEVS simulation software will be developed for ability to run those models and analyse gathered results. The given approach facilitates increases of the productivity in development of domain specific modelling and simulation tools up to 10 times.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"2 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116873315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A modified Saleh-Valenzuela channel modeling is considered as a realistic multipath indoor characteristic with four channel model: CM1, CM2, CM3 and CM4. These channel models are distinguished by cluster structure of the receiving path and its respective cluster and ray within cluster decay factors rate. Rayleigh fading is used as an upper bound limit of the analytical performance of UWB system.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115154474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Swiss healthcare is currently searching for methods and practices for the solution of operational planning and optimisation of IT processes. To make sure that the corporate hospital strategy leads to adequate business decisions an IT GRC Framework for Healthcare will be needed. This paper presents the first task -- the classification of existing IT governance frameworks -- within the development process. After the dissociation of IT management and corporate governance -- a proposal for a classification scheme for IT governance frameworks is described and the application of the classification template is explained.","PeriodicalId":161995,"journal":{"name":"2011 UkSim 13th International Conference on Computer Modelling and Simulation","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126557906","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
