{"title":"مشاريع دعم وتطوير المستودعات الرقمية الأكاديمية: نحو اتحاد أكاديمي لمستودعات الوصول الحر بالجزائر","authors":"أحسن بابوري","doi":"10.5339/jist.2023.10","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5339/jist.2023.10","url":null,"abstract":"الملخص إن مشروعات إنشاء المستودعات الرقمية المؤسساتية في العالم العربي عامة، والجزائر خاصة، تخضع في أغلب الأحوال إلى الاجتهادات الشخصية أكثر مما تخضع للرؤى العلمية المبنية على التخطيط المنهجي الذي يوضح المسار الذي يجب أن يلتزم به المشروع في مواصفاته ومراحل تنفيذه ومتطلبات كل مرحلة، فهناك اعتبارات عديدة. مالية، وبشرية، وقانونية، وإدارية، وتقنية- ينبغي أن تؤخذ في الحسبان في أي مشروع يهدف إلى تأسيس مستودع رقمي مؤسساتي. ومع تزايد الاهتمام بالمستودعات الرقمية، عمدت العديد من الدول إلى إعداد ودعم إنشاء مشاريع مستودعات رقمية وطنية. وفي هذه الدراسة تم عمل دراسة تقييمية على 36 مستودعاً تابعاً للجامعات الجزائرية، وتوصلت نتائجها إلى قصور في أداء المستودعات الرقمية المؤسساتية. كما أظهرت الدراسة أن العديد من الجامعات لا تملك الخبرة والإمكانيات لبناء مستودعات معيارية لتنظيم وإتاحة وحفظ مخرجات باحثيها. من هذا المنطلق تقدم هذه الدراسة رؤيةً لمشروع وطني يكون تحت وصاية وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، هدفه دعم إنشاء ومتابعة مشاريع المستودعات الرقمية في المؤسسات الأكاديمية الجزائرية وفق أفضل المعايير والممارسات، وقد اصطلح الباحث على تسمية المشروع ب”اتحاد .“DZCOAR” Algerian Confederation of Open Access Repositories ” مستودعات الوصول الحر في الجزائر ويهدف هذا المشروع إلى تأسيس بنية تحتية وطنية لدعم إنشاء ومتابعة مشاريع المستودعات الرقمية، ويشمل ذلك الدعم المادي، والفني، والتقني، والتشريعي، والإداري. The projects of implementing institutional digital repositories, in the Arab world in general and in Algeria in particular, are in most cases based on personal efforts rather than adopting vision and systematic planning which would guide such projects to complete successfully by providing all the required aspects, stages, requirements, implementation, timeline and costs. There are many financial, human, legal, administrative and technical considerations to be taken into account when starting an institutional digital repository project. With the increasing interest in digital repositories, many countries have initiated the setting up of such projects and have provided support on national levels. This study conducted an evaluation of 36 repositories belonging to Algerian universities and found out a deficiency in the performance of these repositories. The study revealed that such universities do not have the experience or the capabilities to enable them to build standard repositories to organize, provide and preserve their researchers’ outputs. Hence, this study presents a suggested vision for a national project to be under the tutelage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This suggested vision aims to support setting up and managing digital repositories in Algerian universities in accordance with the best standards and practices. The researcher named the project as Algerian Confederation of Open Access Repositories (DZCOAR). {"title":"اتجاهات مديري المكتبات نحو استخدام تطبيقات الذكاء الاصّطناعيّ – الجامعات الأردنية","authors":"بيان فراس محمد النعانعة, نشروان ناصر طه","doi":"10.5339/jist.2023.14","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5339/jist.2023.14","url":null,"abstract":"الملخص هدفت هذه الدّراسة إلى التعرف على اتجاهات مديري المكتبات الجامعية الأردنية نحو استخدام تطبيقات الذكاء الاصّطناعيّ. وجرى استخدام المنهج الوصفي النوعي لتحقيق هدف الدّراسة، وتكوّن مجتمع الدّراسة من جميع مديري المكتبات الجامعية الأردنية، في كلٍّ من المكتبات الجامعية الأردنية (الحكومية والخاصة)، والبالغ عددهم (29) مدير ومديرة مكتبة جامعية، حيث تم اختيارهم بالطريقة القصدية. استجاب منهم (15) مديراً ومديرة، وكانت نسبة الاستجابة (52%) من إجمالي مجتمع الدراسة. ولتحقيق أهداف الدّراسة، قامت الباحثة بإعداد أداة المقابلة المفتوحة شبه المنظمة (Semi-structured interview) ، وقد تراوحت مدة المقابلة ما بين (15- 45) دقيقة. وتم استخدام التحليل المبني على استخراج الكلمات المفتاحية (Themes) وبناء تصنيفات عامة حسب هذه الكلمات المفتاحية، وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن هناك اتجاهات إيجابية بنسبة كبيرة بين مديري المكتبات الجامعية الأردنية نحو استخدام تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي، وأثنى المستجيبون على اتجاهاتهم الإيجابية من خلال رؤيتهم المستقبلية حول ما يمكن أن تقدمه هذه التطبيقات وما يمكن أن ينعكس جراء استخدامها على المكتبات الجامعية الأردنية. كما أظهرت النتائج أن الدافع لتوجه أفراد العينة لاستخدام تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي هو الحرص على مواكبة التكنولوجيا الحديثة، حيث غالباً ما يعتمد هؤلاء الأفراد على فوائد استخدام التكنولوجيا لتحديد ما إذا كانت ستؤثر على المكتبات الجامعية وخدماتها. وقد خرجت هذه الدراسة بالتوصيات التالية: ضرورة مواكبة كل ما هو جديد في التكنولوجيا الحديثة واستخدامه بطريقة تناسب احتياجات المكتبات الجامعية، بالإضافة إلى إدراج مواد تختص بالذكاء الاصطناعي لتدريسها لطلبة الجامعات. كما أوصت بإجراء العديد من البحوث حول موضوع الذكاء الاصطناعي لإثراء البحث العلمي، وأوصت الدراسة الباحثين إلى استكمال البحث في موضوع الذكاء الاصطناعي في مختلف أنواع المكتبات من نواحٍ أخرى. This study aimed to identify the attitudes of the directors of Jordanian universities libraries towards the use of artificial intelligence applications. The qualitative descriptive approach was used to achieve the goal of the study, and the study population consisted of all library directors of Jordanian universities (governmental and private). They were (29) university librardirectors, who were chosen intentionally. Out of them (15) managers responded, and the response rate was (52%) of the total study population. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a semi-structured interview tool, and the duration of the interview ranged from 15 to 45 minutes. Analysis was used based on extracting keywords (themes) and building general classifications according to these keywords. The results of the study showed that a large percentage of Jordanian universities library managers showed positive trends towards the use of artificial intelligence applications. Saudi Arabia is one of the world's largest producers of dates. Moreover, Saudi Arabia has been ranked first worldwide in the government strategy index for Artificial Intelligence. Machine learning is also one of the most widespread topics of artificial intelligence and one of the emerging technologies with a potential future paving the way for the fourth industrial revolution. The Saudi government is giving a primary importance to machine-learning teaching to produce a generation capable of creative solutions. However, many of the teaching sources of this discipline are in English, with an apparent lack of Arabic sources. Thus, this paper seeks to bridge this gap by creating a dataset generated from our Saudi environment using two of the easiest data mining platforms: Orange and Teachable Machine and none of them requires programming. This study is the first work to establish a balanced dataset to classify two categories of organic Saudi dates. The dataset contains three subsets: 1) a dataset containing hand-crafted features to classify two types of organic dates (Ajwa or Medjool); 2) a dataset containing tabular data with features created automatically using deep learning to classify the two organic date types (Ajwa or Medjool), and 3) a dataset for images of Ajwa and Medjool dates. A qualitative research design that considers the natural contexts in which individuals or groups function to provide an in-depth understanding of real-world problems was adopted. Data was collected through face-to-face interviews using semi-structured interview questions and focus group discussion. Identified modalities to equip academic librarians for effective digital librarianship were: organised in-house hands-on training workshops or seminars and enrolment in modular academic programmes through both face-to-face and virtual means. The study also ascertained the need for individual staff to avail themselves and make time to utilise training from library associations, and enrol on free online courses. Computer programming, database development, website and webpage development, digital communication skills and skills in all ICT applications in library services were seen to be necessary for inclusion in library school curricula. The study recommended collaboration between academic libraries and library schools where academic librarians could be invited to serve as board members, contribute to curriculum development, and provide consultancy in Information Literacy instructions.
