Both deal with inserting additional information into multimedia. Basically, watermarking protects the multimedia content against unauthorized manipulation whereas steganography utilizes multimedia in the role of a cover object for unauthorized secret message transmission. This article deals with additional technique to steganography which can decrease an impact to cover image after an embedding process. The goal is to find an optimal image from a cover image database based on bits of the secret message. With 2,000 image database, cover selection method can decrease impact by 10% in comparison to the same embedding method without cover selection. Disadvantage lays in a time consumption. In this article, there is proposed a novel accelerated cover selection method. Acceleration is achieved by optimal shortening of a secret message for comparative process.","PeriodicalId":160577,"journal":{"name":"2017 27th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130643923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Gathering the opinion of the users using crowdsourcing is quick and relatively cheap but such a study has to be designed very carefully in order to give relevant results. So far, the majority of the QoE studies using crowdsourcing has been focusing on the performance of H.264/AVC algorithm in different situations (such as encoder settings, stalling effects, etc). Modern video coding methods, however, are only rarely tested using the crowdsourcing approach. We designed a study comparing the performance of both H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC standards in the crowdsourcing environment. We deal with the possibilities of delivering and presenting the HEVC encoded content to the participants of the crowdsourcing study and potential challenges. Finally, the study was performed using Microworkers platform and gathered results are then compared with three different objective video quality metrics.","PeriodicalId":160577,"journal":{"name":"2017 27th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"255 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134036799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compared features cover LPC, LPCC and MFCC with orders from 8 to 30. All features were extracted from sounds with the sound-to-noise ratios 30, 20, 10, and 0 dB. The background noise was simulated by white noise. Experimental results indicate that LPC coefficients are the most efficient features, especially for low noise. On the other hand, MFCC performed well in noisy environments at 10 dB and 20 dB.","PeriodicalId":160577,"journal":{"name":"2017 27th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131095661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work investigates the method and algorithms of information reception and transmission based on using of code signal feature that do not require the application of error-correcting codes and special measures for synchronization ensuring. Special feature of the developed algorithms is the representation of each discharge symbol of the primary error-correcting code in the form of binary sequences, transmitted over a communication channel in the form of pulses series conditionally infinitely small duration rigidly interconnected by fixed time intervals that are multiple to certain time delay. The paper shows that the suggested method of transmission has the properties of self-synchronization, and significantly increases the information reliability of the system.","PeriodicalId":160577,"journal":{"name":"2017 27th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132331235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In some applications it is desirable to improve edge detector precision to sub-pixel values. The input data for precise edge detector are usually in the form of uncompressed image. Sometimes, only JPEG images are available for processing. In our paper we deal with this situation, we focus on the question how lossy JPEG compression of image can change the precision of edge detection. We used JPEG images with different quality to test three methods for edge localization with accuracy at the sub-pixel level for 1-D images. First two algorithms are based on spatial and gray level moments of the image function. Third method used in our experiments approximates samples of real image with erf function. To compare these three methods we used noiseless and noisy JPEG images, two types of noise were used: Gaussian noise and ‘salt & pepper’. The standard deviation of edge position error was chosen as the precision criterion.","PeriodicalId":160577,"journal":{"name":"2017 27th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127476242","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main uses of Kinect is measurement and subsequent creation the so-called depth maps of the 3D scenes. The maps obtained by Kinect can be improved. Existence of databases suitable for the experiment is very important for research. One of the possible research directions is use of infrared version of the investigated scene for improvement of the depth map. However, the databases of the Kinect data which would contain the corresponding infrared images do not exist. Therefore, our aim was to create such database. We want to increase the usability of the database by adding stereo images. Moreover, the same scenes were captured by Kinect v2. It was also investigated the impact of simultaneous use Kinect v1 and Kinect v2 to improve depth map investigated the scene. It can be learnt from the analysis that the throughput performance of the system of interest is maximized only at an appropriate choice of the time-switching factor. This optimal value can be found by numerical algorithm. The analysis also clarifies the effect of other parameters such as transmitted-power-to-noise ratio and the data rate, to the system performance. All these above results are confirmed by Monte-Carlo simulation.","PeriodicalId":160577,"journal":{"name":"2017 27th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133652055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
