The study highlights the need for more research in the area of comparative social policy in developing countries in particular and normative social policy in general—in order to identify and learn from more positive (e.g. win-win) solutions, or positively outstanding cases, in international comparative normative social policy. In the four case studies under scrutiny, governments have scaled up social security coverage and demonstrated high levels of innovation in designing new institutions and the compilation of the overall welfare state system. The quantitative social indicator analysis, in addition, confirms that with regard to East Asian welfare state systems there is a greater number of positively outstanding (positively deviating) cases. The paper concludes that East Asian welfare state systems have their unique mix of welfare state institutions, unique overall welfare philosophy, and even uniquely developed welfare state instruments and designs, while also accomplishing positively outstanding performance in social development relative to their level of economic development.

In accordance with this purpose, to combine the results of independent experimental studies, the meta-analysis method was put into use. Within this context, as a result of the literature review, in the meta-analysis, 17 experimental studies conducted between the years 2007 and 2020 were included. The total sample size of the mentioned studies was 620 in the experimental group and 607 in the control group. Thalheimer and Cook's (2002) classification was used in calculating the effect size values in the study in which the random effects model was used. Publication bias in research; Funnel Plot was tested with Rosenthal Fail Safe N value, cut and fill method of Duval and Tweedie and Begg-Mazumdar statistics, and studies included in meta-analysis were found to be heterogeneous. The effect of moderator variables, which are thought to influence academic achievement, was examined. Q and p significance tests were used to calculate the effect of moderator variables. According to the results of the study, it has been determined that GIS has a very wide (+1,193) effect on academic achievement. Positive average effect size indicates a change in favour of the experimental group. It was concluded that among the moderator variables, the study type, class level and sample size did not create a significant change in the effect size, and the year variable created a significant difference in the effect size.

According to this analysis managers, creditors, and investors can receive valuable information about the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations. Managers by using especially profitability, operating, and asset utilization ratios can maintain a fairly accurate perception of the financial health of their business. Different types of ratios can help them as they are indicator of well goals are being achieved. When actual results can not meet the standard set, then, ratios indicate where the problem may be. There are different types of ratios. Liquidity ratios are current and quick asset ratios. Profitability and operating ratios are return on asset, gross profit margin and net profit margin. Gearing ratios are divided into debt to equity ratio and number of times interest earned. There are different shareholder investment ratios such as return on shareholders, earnings per share, price earnings ratio, dividend yield and dividend covers. Under asset utilization ratios, we have the net asset turnover, debtor collection period, stockholding period and creditor payment period. Investment appraisal is a process which assists mangers to take decisions and evaluate the future success of a project in terms of profitability, suitability, and compatibility with company objectives. The value of money changes with time. Money received today has a different value from money received in the future. the investors before making any investment must take into consideration that different types of securities will have different kinds of risks. The several sources of risk can be classified as: interest rate risk, market risk, inflation risk, business risk, exchange rate risk, financial risk, country risk, and liquidity risk. No investment will be made unless the expected rate of return is high enough to compensate the investor for taking extra risks. In general, it is believed that the higher the perceived risk associated with an investment opportunity, the higher should be its expected return to persuade an investor to accept the investment opportunity. Investors are risk averse, namely that they want to reduce their risk through a diversified balanced portfolio. This leads us to modern portfolio theory, which was developed by Markowitz (1959). Arbitrage pricing theory, APT, is a more general approach to asset pricing because it allows for the possibility that many factors can be used to explain security returns. The assets of a company are financed by either debt or equity. After calculating the cost of capital for equity and debt, then, we combine them in a form of weighted average to calculate the final weighted average cost of capital. The reason of measuring the weighted average cost of capital is to find how much interest the company or the government has to pay for every Euro it borrows. Factors that affect the cost of capital are the capital structure of the company, the divi

However, the effects of different interventions and their combinations can’t be directly observed and are currently understood only through process-based simulations. Method: In this study, we gathered chronological data on the implementation of the government interventions for nine cities of China from 11 October 2020 to 4 February 2021. Aimed at four specific goals, we proposed the implementation framework of the government interventions based on the SEIR model. Combined with two external datasets, we used the data-driven approach to analyze the individual and combined effects of five themes of government interventions implemented in these nine cities. Results: Supported by extensive empirical validation, our results indicated some specific government interventions (including masks, environmental cleaning and disinfection, and periodic testing) each reduced transmission considerably, which has been underestimated previously. Linked the COVID-19 epidemiological dynamics with the implementation timelines and sequences of the government intervention combinations, we detected that the earlier implementation of a specific government intervention combination (including targeted testing, quarantine on close contacts, tracing and tracking of close contacts) was correlated well with the shortened local outbreak periods and the reduced cumulative reported cases, which provided the consistent evidence that this early implementation achieved the strongest and most rapid effect on controlling COVID-19, especially at the early period of the local outbreak. Conclusion: These findings provided important scientific information for decisions regarding which government interventions should be implemented, and they also supported policy-making for more than 223 countries that are fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, there is a relative scarcity of research on the impact of word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction on brand loyalty through the mediated role of brand trust in the herbal medicine market. Consequently, this research aimed to assess the impact of word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction on loyalty through the mediating role of trust in the herbal medicine market. A survey questionnaire was utilised to obtain empirical data from a sample of 265 customers through systematic sampling strategy. Covariance-based structural equation modelling was employed to examine the hypotheses formulated to achieve the aim of the study. The research established that positive word-of-mouth, satisfaction, and trust significantly impact loyalty in the herbal medicine market. More importantly, the research indicated that the customers` trust partially mediated the impact of word-of-mouth and customer satisfaction on loyalty in the herbal medicine market. Hence, this research contributes to advancing the extant brand management literature by establishing the intervening role of trust in the relationship between word-of-mouth, satisfaction and loyalty in the herbal medicine market. This research further provides a reference point to encourage the practitioners to develop and track the customers` word-of-mouth, satisfaction and brand trust to enhance loyalty in the industry.

For many reasons, however, the commercial deployment of CCS technologies has been slow and must accelerate to contribute effectively to mitigating climate change. \u0000 \u0000This paper presents the outcome of a study that Amec Foster Wheeler Italiana, a Wood Company, performed on behalf of IEAGHG, aimed at updating the technical and economical assessment of coal and natural gas fired power plants with and without CO2 capture, considering the benefits of recent technology improvements. The work has focused on ultra-supercritical pulverized coal (USC PC) boiler and natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) power plants, with and without CO2 capture. Post combustion capture based on solvent scrubbing only has been considered; this is currently the commercially leading option for capture on both pulverized coal and natural gas-fired power plants. \u0000 \u0000Two different capture unit designs are studied: a 90% CO2 recovery scenario, and a high capture rate scenario (around 99%). \u0000 \u0000Starting from the benchmark NGCC cases described above, the work has also addressed: \u0000 \u0000• The impacts of Flue Gas Recirculation (FGR) on power plant performances and economics. The recirculation of part of the flue gas back to the GT compressor has the beneficial effects of enriching the exhaust gas in CO2 and significantly reducing the gas throughput of the absorption section in the CO2 capture unit, but also shows some drawbacks, such as the cost of the recirculation system and a slight efficiency drop. \u0000 \u0000• Improvements to the operational flexibility of both natural gas and coal fired power plants with carbon capture from a simplified techno-economic optimization standpoint, updating the main outcomes of the work presented in “Operating flexibility of power plants with CCS” (2011, Foster Wheeler) with state-of-the-art technologies. The trade-off between flexibility and efficiency is also analyzed for the coal cases, including a literature review of the possible impacts on operating flexibility of adopting Advanced-Ultra Super Critical (A-USC) technologies (700°C). \u0000 \u0000• Consideration of mid-term future advancements on power generation technologies for the NGCC plant, including the use of novel improved materials in the hot gas path of the for the gas turbine and integration with Molten Carbon Fuel Cells (MCFCs), in which hydrogen is provided via natural gas steam reforming (using MCFC waste heat). The MCFC, besides contributing to power generation, allows separation of CO2 from the NGCC flue gas and its release into a syngas stream that needs a relatively simple purification method to remove the CO2 (like cryogenic technology) and can then be re-covered as auxiliary fuel to the power island.
