The current NER model is deemed not fit to accurately extract entities from Quranic text due to its unique content. This paper describes the building of a rule-based Named Entity Recognition method to extract the entities that exist in the English translation to the meaning of the Quranic text and its performance evaluation. Named entity tagging, a common task in-text annotation, in which entities (nouns) in the unstructured text are identified and assigned a class. A few rules are built to extract several types of entities such as the name of prophets and people, creation, location, time, and the various names of God. The rules are built mainly using regular expressions and gazetteers. The rules that have been built result in high precision and recall as well as a satisfactory F-score of over 90%. The results from this experiment can be used as annotation in building a machine learning model to extract entities from the same type of domain specifically on the Quranic text or generally in the Islamic domain text.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116194092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, suspect identification is a big challenge in network forensics due to the anonymous nature of data transmission across the network. This study utilises the decision tree classification approach to characterise users from their behavioural web navigation pattern using the meta-data of captured network packets (Destination IP, Protocol, Port Source, and Port Destination). A total of 95,795,379 network packet headers from 96 subjects were successfully collected. Their meta-data header packets were statistically profiled to generate digital fingerprints that try to link their action on the network to their identity accurately. Hence, CHAID decision tree modelling using Destination IP, Unique protocols, and a combination of the two, including Port source and Port destination, resulted in an accuracy of 4.07%, 6.34%, and 6.36%, respectively. However, the modelling could not create a reliable decision tree for the Port source and destination. The validation study on all the combined variables had a similar accuracy of 6.36%, indicating model created had reproducibility capability. Despite the outcome, the proposed method is not yet sufficiently strong for suspect identification. Further enhancement to improve its accuracy is required.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"2020 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115936908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This requires teachers to be more creative and innovative in delivering knowledge in the classroom via online learning. However, trainee teachers lack experience and skills compared to professional teachers, which affects the consistency of their motivation. Therefore, this paper discusses the perceived improvement of motivation of trainee teachers based on the ARCS motivation model toward a game-based learning approach through a digital game called StayFit as a teaching tool. This study focuses on four components of ARCS motivational constructs;- i) attention; ii) relevance; iii) confidence; and iv) satisfaction. The research design is quantitative and based on a survey using a questionnaire to collect the data. 56 respondents were involved in this study and the data were analysed using descriptive statistics. The results of this study show that the trainee teachers gave positive feedback through the implementation of digital game-based learning in their online classes especially in terms of enhancing their motivation in the teaching process. The implication of the study shows that the use of digital game as a teaching aid in online learning can increase the motivation of trainee teachers and make the learning process more effective, which meet with the needs of remote learning that applied during this endemic situation.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131011109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study highlighted the lack of an understanding of how much internet bandwidth is required for business and individual use and to what extent individual users must be familiar with it. This is crucial because it will enable a smooth data transmission flow back and forward in an organizational network. That is why this study seeks to (1) measure the relationship between organizational learning and effective utilization of internet bandwidth; (2) assess the relationship between organizational learning and organizational performance, and (3) investigate the mediating impact of effective utilization of internet bandwidth in influencing the relationship between organizational learning and organizational performance. We adopted the quantitative research methodology, and a reasonable sample population (n=318) was selected from those Malaysian business firms that use Internet bandwidth. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was utilized to test the relationship among study variables. The finding indicates that; organizational learning is of critical importance in the effective utilization of Internet bandwidth. However, effective bandwidth utilization does not mediate the relationship between organizational learning and performance. This result is interpreted that learning how to use Internet bandwidth improves individual usage and better decision-making in choosing an organization's Internet bandwidth-demand services and applications. Still, it does not significantly increase operational and financial performance.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127932584","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Information systems is meant to improve work process effectiveness; however, various problems result in user dissatisfaction and low system acceptance. The problems include system inability to fulfill user requirements, process inconsistency, unintuitive user interface, data entry, lack of user involvement in system development, and insufficient training. Therefore, we identified factors that influence the information systems adoption and the related aspects that need to be improved in order to optimize the system potentials. We evaluated a training management system in Malaysia's public sector from the user and socio-technical perspectives using the human-organisation-technology-fit (HOT-fit) framework. We performed a case study evaluation using interview, observation, and document analysis methods. The structured and specific measures in the HOT-fit framework facilitated the system evaluation. Positive factors include ease of use, information relevancy, good technical and management support, effective communication and strong relationships. In contrast, factors such as slow system access, user attitude, shortage of technical staff, task constraint, and leadership or policy changes affect system adoption negatively. System net benefits motivated users to use the system.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116562795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the reasons for the lack of development of models for detecting phishing emails is the complexity of the feature selection. Feature selection is one of the essential parts of getting a good classification result, commonly used features are header, body, and Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Besides the email body text content, the URL is one of the leading indicators that the phishing attack successfully happened. The URL is commonly located on the body of the phishing email to get the victim's attention. It will redirect the victim to a fake website to obtain personal information from the victim. There is a lack of information about how the URL features affect the phishing email classification results. Therefore, this work focuses on using URL features to determine whether an email is phishing or legitimate using machine learning approaches. Two public datasets used in this work are the Online Phishing Corpus and Enron Corpus. The URL features are extracted using the Beautiful Soup library. Two machine learning classifiers used in this work are Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The experiments were divided into two based on features used in the classifiers. The first experiment used raw email data with URL features, while the second only used raw email data. The first experiment shows higher accuracy in both classifiers, SVM and ANN. Hence, this research proves that the impact of selecting URL features will increase the performance of the classification.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125557257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the 1970s, teaching methods for Mathematical concepts have traditionally been more on memorization. The purpose of this research was to increase students ?understanding of the topic of patterns in Early Mathematics by integrating Augmented Reality applications. The study of the development of this module was conducted using the TUP model (Technology, Usability, Pedagogy) from the Bednarik TUP Model was implemented to evaluate the technology, usability, and pedagogy to evaluate the effectiveness of the modules produced. The study found that students are more interested and show their interest in the class, parents are also involved in student learning, and teachers are able to implement teaching sessions based on discussion better when they are given more opportunities to be actively involved in the classroom. In addition to active learning in the classroom, the combination of technology also plays an important role in the flow of current learning methods.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"28 20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125466050","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ILL/DD service capitalises on resource sharing or library networking by providing library materials that are not available at the host library. The Lean Six Sigma method was applied to identify the root problems. A construction of a web-based system branded as “Request Book and Article System (RBAS)” soon followed as an intervention. A retrospective study was conducted from March 2020 to August 2021 (16 months) to evaluate the key indicators of the service. Customer feedback on service quality was also surveyed. The majority of request was for articles, 649 (87.5%), followed by book request 84 (11.3%) and ebook, 9 (1.2%). Turnaround time fell within 24 hours for the majority of requests, 494 (68.4%). The highest number was from article request category, 460 (71.8%). A high proportion of users (78%) deemed the service as “high quality”. The use of a lean approach and the development of a homegrown system have improved the ILL/DD service at our library. Here we share lean practices in ILL/DD management, focusing on transforming a manual method to a digital homegrown system development and its advantages.","PeriodicalId":160138,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal of Information Technology and Multimedia","volume":"304 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120838819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
