Most of them can be ideally corrected by using a high quality ancillary data, i.e. Lapan-A3 attitude sensor must provide attitude data for each image line (2,5ms) and free from measurement error. That ideal condition is nearly impossible to achieve so this paper aims to determine the minimum performance of Lapan-A3 ADCS (Attitude Determination and Control System) so that the image captured can still be well corrected with systematic geometric correction software. Three aspects being evaluated are accuracy and sampling frequency of attitude sensor, as well as the stability mode of ACS. Simulation results show that 10 Hertz sampling frequency of attitude data is needed when ACS closed loop mode is used, while 1/3 Hertz sampling frequency is enough when ACS open loop mode is used. Accuracy of attitude sensor should be better than 0,003° for pitch/roll axis and 0,02° for yaw axis. Related with ACS stability mode, image correction is way easier if observation is done under open loop mode since in closed loop mode there will be random jitter error. If the observation is done under closed loop mode then ACS should have pointing stability of 0,002°, far from current Lapan-A3 ACS pointing stability under closed loop mode, which is 0,1°.","PeriodicalId":159808,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Aerospace Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131335489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The strict-feedback form of the multicopter dynamics is utilized to formulate the quaternion based backstepping controller which is designed for nominal conditions. This control law prevents unwinding by using a well-defined quaternion error. The backstepping controller is augmented using a L1 adaptive control to increase the performance in the presence of uncertainties. In order to compare the performance of the baseline and the augmented controllers, different uncertainty cases (within position of the center of gravity and moment of inertia) were compared in simulation. A truncated L2-norm of the tracking error is used for a quantitative comparison. Flight tests which validate the simulation results are presented.","PeriodicalId":159808,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Aerospace Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133685113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The satellite type used in this research is the one that weight no more than 100 kg and dimension can be fitted into auxilary payload allocation in the Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) launch vehicle. The satellite mission chosen in this research is Earth observation using 2 optical payloads of 4-band multispectral imager. The 2 performance criteria chosen are the image resolution and the image swath, which are trade-off of one another. The constrains on the design, in addition to the satellite launch envelope, is the downlink data rate. The aspects of subsystem design are assumed to be based on available technologies. The optimization is done using multi-objective particle swarm algorithm (MOPSO) scheme. The result obtained is the pareto front presenting choices for the designer on the satellite with optimal image resolution and swath, which then validated by comparing with manual calculation. The recomended parameter combinations are then used to calculate satellite system parameters.","PeriodicalId":159808,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Aerospace Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122899605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In available atmospheric correction algorithm, lack of study has been addressed on the appropriate criteria to choose atmospheric model for specific atmospheric condition (i.e., in radiative transfer algorithm). The issue is not only on the availability of coincide atmospheric information required for the model but to choose which aerosol atmospheric model (i.e. urban, rural, maritime and desert) is appropriate for specific region. Thus, the study attempted to answer whether the selection of atmospheric model is based on certain criteria, which are regional atmospheric condition or geographic location. In order to determine the significance of both criteria, dark object extraction technique is performed in estimating the aerosol loading and visibility range. Results have demonstrated that determination of suitable atmospheric model significantly influenced by regional climate condition.","PeriodicalId":159808,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Aerospace Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130659257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sampling result from six well distributed area were the main feeder in establishing the relationship of paddy growth parameters (paddy age and coverage) with NDVI. Quadratic equation is the best fitted equation to describe the relationship between NDVI and paddy age with R2 values ranging from 0.960 to 0.974. Relationship between paddy coverage and NDVI by linear equation with correlation coefficient (R2) from 0.734 to 0.861. From both relationships, it shows that NDVI has the same proclivity with the paddy coverage in its life stage. The climax of paddy index in NDVI is 2 months paddy age. This period is the transition from vegetative to generative stage. Two growth variables were assessed in this research with the total NDVI presented the strongest exponential relationship to paddy production with an R2 value of 0.947 and the percentage of paddy estimation precision to 92%. This research enable the prediction of paddy production by using y = 0.0496e0.0978x equation, with x is the total NDVI and y is the paddy production. The result obtained reflect parameters sufficiency thus acknowledge the potential of light platform Unmanned Aerial Imaging System (UAIS) to estimate paddy production.","PeriodicalId":159808,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Aerospace Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130500318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of change detection algorithms based on radiometric values alone is not satisfactory and need the fusion of other features. Local similarity measures such as Mutual Information, Kullback-Leibler Divergence, and Cluster Reward Algorithm can be used for enhancing change detection. In the paper, we propose an improved local similarity measure using weighted local histogram. Each pixel contributes to the calculation of the histogram according to its weight only. The weight assigned to each pixel in the histogram estimation window follows an exponential function of its distance from the center of the window and the corresponding pixel value in an initial change map image which is derived from other micro-structure or radiometric information. The proposed improved similarity measure benefits from the good detection ability of small estimation window and the good estimation accuracy of large estimation window; hence it can replace the time-consuming multi-scale selection approaches for statistics based similarity measures in remote sensing. The efficiency of this useful improvement has been validated on change detection in remote sensing image series.","PeriodicalId":159808,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Aerospace Electronics and Remote Sensing Technology","volume":"2005 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127648089","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
